Did I miss anyone?

EDIT: Well, I did miss that I got ninja'ed. :p

Four eyes see better than just two... At least since we independently got the same list it's likely to be correct ;)

LOL!

But... I made the original list, how come DragonCat gets all the credit? *cries*

(But seriously, nice to see that both lists are independently the same, so we hopefully didn't miss anything!)

Too funny! Thx guys.

If everyone would stop being so friendly and useful that would be great. If some of you could turn out to be sociopaths it would really help the rest of us!... :p But seriously, good luck everyone, it's going to be a hell of a game!

Sorry! I absent-mindedly copy-pasted Dragoncat's list without even checking – this truly has been a cooperative effort.

So let's say 65% Jesse Heinig, 30% Dragoncat, 5% me? :)

(I deducted myself a 5% due to my heedlessness!).

I'm a John, not a Jason, but I'll let it slide....this time. ;)

Jason is a nice evening name

Thank you....and, John, it's not such a bad name.....lol.

Azura says, "Johns are good for the evening too!"

What is an evening name?"

That is what I get for typing on my phone

Take it from the expert ;P

I'm still here. The thread ran off without me over the busy weekend. I've never been in a heavy RP thread with over 20 people before, I confess I couldn't keep up at all! :P

Well I am a professional.

Thoughts and ideas about that list?

Your swing point is probably arcane casting, since you only have two full arcane casters submitting and a few bards. I don't know how the adventure goes but if you wind up fighting lots of demons the cleric might be super-handy if he takes the feats to channel vs. outsiders. The only rogue on the list is Alexa, so if the group has to deal with magical traps at all, then she's basically a must-pick unless someone multiclasses or takes an appropriate trait or suchlike.

LOTS of great stories. If you decide to keep the rebuilding of Kenabres as part of the story that could be an interesting use of the kingdom-building rules in a more downtime-intensive-soft-RP fashion.

I did mention I was changing my build to Cleric of Groetus, right?

My work here is finished. ;)

Well, sure, but where am I going to find argonauts at this hour?

As far as RP went, its interesting that most RP groups formed because of the shared background traits, but usually you want a diverse group choosing among the traits instead of focused on one. My best suggestion is to run multiple tables or find someone to help. Other than that, choices need to be made I guess.

Well that's one thing about this format of recruitment is there really is only that commonality. The other thing is that it probably wasn't that helpful for anyone who'd planned on making a quiet, introspective, loner, grim or shy character.

For the most part if you didn't plan on being relatively social you were kinda screwed.

Ik-Ha-Thruun and Ithilwen being the standout exceptions of finding a way to pull off a very socially awkward character in a social setting and making it endearing rather than clunky.

Shhh your making me blush, >.> <.< :)

I do not envy you having to make these decisions.

There's always descriptive introspection. This form of RP is a mixture of storytelling and action, and the former can include what you are thinking, seeing, and feeling.

Some people really dislike portraying what their characters think, though - they want to show only what they are doing, and you have to figure out their intentions from their actions. I did try to wrangle a few more people into conversation, since I was playing a social butterfly! Sorry I couldn't get to more (especially the half-drow).

Fair enough. There's no right or wrong answer, just options and preferences.

All that being said, I was appreciative of the people like yourself that engaged multiple groups and people. It can be quite challenging to do.

All I would say is, appoint some reserves. People drop out of PBP with a depressing regularity.

That and pick what you like, slight mechanical weakness can generally be made up for with good playing in my experience.

Other than that... Good Luck!

As a DM this is quite a good group to pick from. All bases are covered and everyone did a great job of rping. I would be agonizing on which characters to choose. Running two tables wouldnt be a bad option depending on your availability. Anyone that wanted could do the town-rebuilding rping and would be reserves as people do drop from PbP more often than one would expect.
Thank you for the IC thread. It was really fun.

Wise words, Merlin.

Thanks Arthur. Unfortunately the two PbP games that i am currently in are both suffering from inactivity: one DM has been m.i.a. and the other a couple of players...sad face...

Mechanically, I really have nothing to add to Azura's analysis. Even then, I've seen many PbPs wither and fade on these forums, and rarely (if ever) due to mechanical imbalance within the group or even a TPK; mostly, it was either RL or characters not really clicking together. I believe this thread has shown this latter eventuality can be easily written off :)

That said, I quite like Merlin's suggestion to use the 'rebuilding Kenabres' instance as a PC reservoir, though. It would really make introducing future characters that much smoother and 'organic', so to say, since we really more or less already know each other.

@Azura, Darya: yeah, I too regret not having had the chance to mingle with you 'cool girls', though with so many people around, it proved very hard to pull off (even though we at least managed to acknowledge each other). I suspect time zones were also a factor.

To elaborate on Darya's point (aaaw, thanks, btw ;) ), one of the coolest things is that even non-naturally charismatic characters such as Cyril and Arloric found a way to shine which didn't necessarily amount to playing social butterflies. PbPs can sometimes be a harsh medium when it comes to cracking an introvert loner-type PC's shell, but here, we didn't even need that.

Dang pesky time zones!

who said we aren't sociopaths? who knows, we could all actually be one person, ant we've fooled you all!
