| Stoma Argento |
Stoma after noticing that Crimson doesn't seem to have enough injuries for the cuts he's made steps forward and says loudly
"Hey Crimson, what do you have under your shirt, i've seen that shell game before, talking talking but we need to be watching your hands. Your not bleeding enough for the injuries you've sustained, what healing magic you got under your shirt?
nightdeath

Crimson shows his empty hand.
Laughs and lifts his shirt.
"Why? Your friends losing and you think your words are going to help them? As you can see I ain't got nothing under my shirt."
Pointing at him, Crimson proclaims.
"Now see here folks. Another has stepped up to join in the games. Is he just flapping his land lubber tongue or is he going to show some blood yes?" as he begins to play the crowd of rowdy sailors who start picking up the chant.
"Blood. Blood! Blood."
| Jerieth |
Jerieth watched as stoma confronted Cog.
"He's right! If you really don't have anything underneath your shirt you won't mind if I cast a spell. Don't worry it's just a detect magic spell. Completely harmless. And if you refuse well you're hiding something. Only guilty men have something to hide."
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 + 1 = 15 seeing if she can tell if he's using a spell
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 1 = 20 Trying to get the crowd to force him to submit to the spell

Crimson grins and opens his arms wide.
"Go ahead Darling. I'm surprised you work this fast. Fancy you wanting to get my shirt off in a public place like this and fiesty too." he laughs and gets the surrounding sailors to laugh as well though not all joins him in it. He strips off his shirt showing a lean body crisscrossed with scars on his chest.
As far as Jerieth can tell, she cannot see any magic being used by him. She does note that the sailors egg her to do her magic and it shows that they have no idea how the application of Detect Magic works. It involves touching that's for sure, gaudging by their reactions.
| Jerieth |
Shrugging her shoulders, she grins and replies, "Well then if you like me touch you, then I shall. But I don't think you'll like it mate. I'm quite certain you won't."
She holds up one of her hands. She starts to cast a spell. Suddenly electricity starts to spark from her fingertips. She grins.
"It might make things interesting. I bet 2 silvers he can't take it! Of course it won't be in the face! I'll be touching something more...delicate," she says as she points between his legs.
"And if he can take it, Ill raise my bet to 5 silvers if he can drink bilge water without vomitting. So Cog are ye man enough to be shocked and drink bilge water!?"
She hasn't actually cast the spell yet. She's starting to cast it but she'll stop if he panics. Otherwise she'll give him quite a shock!

Cog Grins at Jerieth.
"Go ahead. Pretty One. Go ahead." He seems to egg her on his eyes no gleaming with anticipation.
Removing the skill rolls and setting Set DCs.
He Actually wants Jerieth to do it as if anticipating another outcome and perhaps not what Jerieth may have envisioned.
Maheem has tensed and his eyes narrowed at Jerieth's proclaimed actions.
A certain Redhead shakes her head in an almost imperceptible motion.
Master Scourge is certainty Interested as is Mr Plugg.
The Whole crew is tense as if some rule has being broken.
Captain Barnabas leans forward and steeple his hands, cackling as he exchanges glances with his fellow officers.
Assuming everyone gathers around him.
Enter Cut Scene.Maheem looks at all of you once.
"This is a tradition for all Swabies."
It's all the warning you get as he explodes into action."First rule. Never speak of Mutiny. The Captain's Word and by default his officers are law abroad this ship." A Bone crushing chop to the crook of the neck of Jerieth causing her excruiating pain.
"Second Rule. No stealing from Fellow Crewmates or ship." A cruel pull of Suny's clothes followed by an equally cruel knee to her face splatters blood as her nose gives way.
"Third Rule. Any Disputes will be called out and settled here on Deck. An Officer or Senior Sailor will Judge. Challlenges can also be called in the evening before any Engagement." A blinding fast Jab catches the cautious Redo in the middle, knocking all his breath out.
"Fourth Rule. Loot will always be divided equally and fairly with Captain picking first, followed my First Mate, officers, Senior Sailors, Sailors and lastly swabies." as he unleashes a one handed multiple blows with one hand towards Sawib starting from an open palm, stiff finger chop, closed fist and elbow smash in a manner resembling a storm.
"Fifth Rule. No Killing of Fellow Crew Member unless under the rule of Dispute." a nasty headbutt from his astoundingly hard head sends Drake Reeling.
He stands back in position, the same almost casual position he's always being in. If you had not seen it, you would not have believed the speed of which he delivers his blows. The wind picks up then blowing a sash tied around his waist out.
The crew waits. Waiting for something to happen as the entire deck is silent.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Sawib puts his hand on the hot tempered woman's shoulder, shaking his head and stepping forward.
"We'll do this, by the rules," the giant of a man says simply. "I believe that the Crimson man is cheating. If he is truly that bloodied, then one hit should drop him to the deck. I challenge you, right here, right now, in front of the whole crew; unarmed combat. No weapons, no armor. Let the whole crew see whether they can trust your word and action."
He takes a step forward, glancing to the officers for approval.
| Jerieth |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Smiling a bit, she puts down her hand. While she was a bit disappointed that her plan to expose Cog as cheating (she was assuming he was cheating as no man who cut himself that much could still be standing), she figured she could bait him into taking a taste of his own medicine.
"Well well seems Cog here has some guts! Bring us both several cups of sea water. I bet you 10 gold I can drink them without getting sick! Anyone willing to bet against someone who killed numerous slavers? Or is the brave and gutsy Cog afraid of a little sea water?
Please note undine can drink sea water as if it was regular water without feeling any ill effects. A human on the other hand will! Of course the crew certainly doesnt know this!

Cog Grins at Sawib, ignoring Jerieth for the moment.
"Aye I accept your challenge but first do you admit your loss to his challenge? I unlike yourself have not taken any potions." he points out.
Shrugging as he too looks up at the officers gathered.
"Is that allowed Captain?" directing his question directly to the Captain of the ship, bypassing Master Scourge in front of the crew as he puts forth his question.
"The Woman here seems to not understand the rules of the ship that well if not for her fellow new swabies." he sneers his appearance undergoing a complete metamorphosis then when talking to Sawib.
"She just challenged me to drinking Sea Water and not rum. She's blue ain't she? So she's a sea girl then? What's the point of a challenge if you dun have a chance to win? Also Do you even have 10 gold?" He asks the last part with some surprise as the rest of the crew starts laughing at an inside joke.
"At least this one's challenge makes some sense despite it being skewed towards him as he is an unarmed warrior."
Diplomacy Checks please to influence Officers. Do choose which Officer you intend to influence.
| Jerieth |
"No I don't have any gold except for these earrings in me ear. Of course if you do win Cog I'll give you three kisses. Just hope Mr. Scourge doesn't get jealous."
"Well what say you...Mr. Kroop? Although it is a bit odd that a man who has cut himself so much could even be standing. Not to mention he's not even bleeding that badly. Why he's just probably nicked himself. Not really cutting himself. Or he has a way to keep himself from dying from blood loss. There are probably certain magical items that can do. Maybe he kept some treasure that would have been useful to the crew but kept it to himself."
"The cook seems friendly enough. Hope he sides with me."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 = 21
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Seeing if there is anything that he could have used to keep himself from bleeding to death. Doesn't have to be a potion. Hey wait! When detect magic is cast doesn't everything in the the caster's sight that's magical reveal itself? What I mean is there anything underneath the table that could be magical?
Sorry y'all for this blunder. Hectic day at work plus I'm still trying to put up Christmas decorations so my mind isn't thinking clearly.
| Stoma Argento |
"I say Crimson here is cheating, I saw him several times put his hand in his shirt and he doesn't seem as injured as he should be. In battle I need to know the worth of the man beside me, if it's false worth that endangers us all"

"Eh? Me?" *Burrrpppp* the rather large and sloppy looking man peers with slightly closed eyes towards the pretty Undine.
If yoush want cutting techniques, I could show you a thing or two." he replies in a drunken stupor.
"He cuts, he bleeds. You cut, you bleed. No difference I see. Just how tough your blood is or is it skin......maybe heart...." he trails off.
Jerieth realies belately that her dtect magic should have revealed magical auras to her but to her amazment, she finds none except the ring on his finger, the weapons sheathed at his side and amulet.
Cog grins, holding up a bloody arm.
"I like you. No give in you at all." picking up a crude club, he holds it halfway in his hands treating it as a sap though it'll make a poor one.
"If the officers don't object?" he looks towards the upper deck.
A single nod from the seated Captain cements the deal, even as Stoma speaks out as well.
"The new swabie will give the first blow." he declares.
"After all he is bleeding and you have drunk a potion. He is already at a disadvantage."
Cog nods, looking a bit displeased but then he shrugs and stands before Sawib, holding out his arms.
"Well go on then." he taunts "A Free shot. I have won this already."
AC 10. Go ahead and hit him.
| Jerieth |
Hold up....amulet? Wait a moment!
"That amulet...and that ring and weapons are all magical! Wouldn't be a fair fight if he has those now. My friend has no magical items so neither should Cog be allowed to use them."
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Redo you're the other one who has Spellcraft so you might want to help me out here. And we should probably get the officers to have cog remove his magical items.
| Sawib Tabansi |
Whoever said I needed to hit his AC? *evil grin*
Flurry #1: Trip: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 1 = 19
Flurry #2: Kick: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 1 = 19

Sawib kicks out and sweeps Cogs feet from underneath him withous any resistance as he slams back his leg hard into his midsection on the prone Cog, knocking the wind out of him.
His arm bleeds once more.
Sawib feels his leg impacting a well honed body but Cog offers no resistance to his hits, proving that he did give Sawib a free shot. The amulet and rings seem dormant. To Sawib that is.
Heal check to check on his arm.
Captain Barnabas glares at Jerieth.
"So woman." he pauses as tension fills the air.
"You thinking of giving orders on board my ship, Swabie? Cog has given your friend a free shot and despite that you lot still have not acknowledged your loss. If not for this entertainment, Cog is willing to humor you lot. I'll have given you blidge duty for the week!"
He continues on. this time looking at Stoma although his is but a glance and a nod before turning back towards Jerieth.
"'Crimson' has proven himself in the previous engagements we had. You? None. You strut around boasting of your accomplishments like it matters here. You ask of his worthiness? Keep in mind until I see you in a fight would I judge you worthy to stand among us."
Cog on the other hand chuckles and stands up, wheezing as he does so.
"That's all you got?" standing up as he looks at Sawib full in the eyes and that's when Sawib realises an important point. Cog is shorter than he is!
Cog brings up his club, with his non bloddied arm.
"Ready when you are." he smirks.
Weapons are +1 enhancement as far as you can tell.
| Sawib Tabansi |
He's standing from prone? AoO for that round triggered!
AoO: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Cog has the -4 to AC due to prone for this AoO
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Sweeping his foot out again, Sawib catches the man just shy of the chin, as he attempts to stand.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
"Let's see how you handle this one then."
Flurry #1: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 1 = 11
Flurry #2: Trip: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 1 = 18
Assuming Attack didn't hit, but trip did?
Although his fist doesn't connect, his leg sweeps underneath the man again, knocking him to the deck once more.
"Do you yield, Red?"
nightdeath
|
Sawib swings out his foot again and slams into Cog once more. This time Cog bends over in pain but still continues taking to his feet, rubbing his chin.
"Yea? Now is my turn I believe." he responds before examining his held weapon and swings it, even as he dodges Sawib's Blows and narrowly avoids being tripped this time, hopping over Sawib's leg.
Attack with Improvised Sap. 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 4 = 171d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
| Jerieth |
Deciding not to anger the captain, she replies, "I had wanted to see who won the fight first Captain. But yes I do admit my loss to Cog."
Shouldnt the captain be wondering too about the amulet and ring?
Jerieth began to wonder if the captain allowed certain crew members to cheat. He probably did. She was really not liking the captain.
| Sawib Tabansi |
Redirection: Trip: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 If he is using power attack, then add +2
"I'm afraid, not quite yet."
With surprising swiftness, the towering man brings his knee forward and down, crushing into the side of the shorter man's kneecap, knocking him entirely off balance again.
Immediate action trip, per Redirection ability. Also, Cog needs to make a DC 13 Reflex save or be sickened for 1 round, as well. I'm not sure, since it's an immediate action, whether his attack precedes that. If not, then the prone and sickened penalties would stack?
nightdeath
|
Once more Sawib is knocked off balance throwing his aim slightly off but still enough to hit Sawib on his knee instead of the side he was aiming for, a glancing hit but nothing else.
Reflex Save 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
No Power Attack. And yes I'll treat it as both stack since it's an immediate action.
| Jerieth |
Waif who tripped who now? I'm guessing Sawib successfully tripped up Cog correct?
| Sawib Tabansi |
Sawib basically was attempting a combo of a sweep and pain inducing maneuver. Unfortunately only the trip was successful.
"Do you yield?" the man says as Cog's swing entirely misses him, thanks to the shorter man's legs going out from under him, and the sailor hits the deck with another harsh thud. The tall Garundi seems to stand with a calm sway, as though he was anticipating the moves of the ocean itself.
Waiting to see the response from Cog before he continues the assault.

Lunch break over. lol Will update later.
Cog was tripped by Sawib.
| Sawib Tabansi |
As I will probably be asleep by the time that things continue again, I'll go ahead and say that he intends to flurry (which is +1/+1 total modifier on the flurry), repeat his AoO (which is an attack roll of +3), if Cog doesn't yield this coming round. If he does yield, then Sawib will help him up and have the cleric check out contestants out.
| Stoma Argento |
Boasting of accomplishments? Stoma? I don't recall any boasting
"I eagerly await the opportunity to prove myself for I have accomplished nothing on this ship. If you think I have wronged a proven member of this crew then I shall be in his debt.
nightdeath

Lol Stoma, Plot hook.
Don't worry Sunny, I'll throw more plot hook at you until you bite. :P
Aoo for Sawib against Cog 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Attack against Sawib 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 4 = 61d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Cog stands up once more and lowers his body while doing so, preventing Sawib from Flooring him once more but just barely. His breathing seems forced but still he stands up.
"And admit that I'm cheating when I didn't? Nope. Have some seawood.." he replies even as he swings once more, his movements already slowing from blood loss.
Captain Barnabas looks at Stoma.
"We shall see in time. Look at Cog, he's one of my best fighters on this ship but he obeys orders despite getting his behind severely whooped but I don't mind as it proves that recruiting you lot was right sine you're proving yourself pretty vicious." he laughs at that last part.
| Sawib Tabansi |
Can Sawib hear the comment from the Captain?
Sawib sidesteps the swing from the sap, lowering his voice this time.
"You'll have to show me sometime then, how you stand despite the blood."
Flurry: Fist: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 1 = 12
Flurry: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 1 = 21
With the fury of the roaring waves, the man's fist swings out, this time in a wide arc. Despite the arc being wide, the momentum causes the Garundi to spin around, his knee coming behind the shorter man and easily turning the man ass over tea kettle.
His voice remains low as he speaks for only Cog's ears.
"I do not wish to continue this, but you do not have the capacity to win. We both know this. We are at a stalemate, though."
nightdeath
|
Yes. You can hear that from the captain. Also damage for that one hit.
nightdeath
|
Cog grins even as Sawib's Punch lays him out. His words rings through Sawib's ears.
"Ex special forces but stay your ego. We both know that you never had a chance at all. Be proud that you took me down while I was wounded and under orders to hold back. I didn't cheat and I held back. Take it with you, swabie."
The crew cheers as the bout obviously ended and Captain Barnabas signals to a familar red head with some distaste. Sandara moves forward and with a few words murmurs into Cog's ears. Words only Sawib can hear due to his proximity.
"Overdid it didn't ye, ye big lug." Taking out a polished fish bone, she touches it to Cog and heals him up, admidst cheers among teh crew and helps him out. She also conjures water for both fighters to wash up.
Captain Barnabas stands up this time.
"Well? What say you all?" his eyes alight with malicious mischief.
"Tell me Unarmed one. How does it feel to win this fight? Do you feel powerful? Still certain Cog cheated for wasn't that your terms? Besides Your companion over there yielded the challenge."
The Crew starts laughing as if the outcome is decided.
Drak feels a tap on his shoulders as Samms beckons him to join him in the riggings.
What would the party do?
| Sawib Tabansi |
Sawib smiles at the answer from his opponent. As the redheaded woman approaches, the Garundi waves off this assistance she offers in helping Cog up, assisting getting him up on his feet until he's sure the man is steady. Once he's clean of blood and sweat, he looks to the Captain.
Once the laughing quiets, he does not break gaze from other Garundi. "My companion's actions are not mine. What they do is their business and speaks to them. I am satisfied with what I've learned. The real challenge was never the bleeding. How did I fare in the real challenge, Captain?" It is clear that Sawib is no simple hot headed fool, as he raises the question respectfully but with clear knowledge.
nightdeath
|
Captain Barnabas smiles though not a very friendly one.
"You'd do." With that he stands up to leave, signaling the night's entertainment at end.
"Scourge! You're in command! Cog! Get cleaned up and collect your reward. Also Scourge!" at the second call, Master Scourge flinches, in surprise, his eyes narrowed.
"Give the warrior a fixed duty roster. And 10 gold."
"Aye Aye Captain." Master Scourge acknowledges the orders though his lips are pressed in a thin line.
This means you get to roll on Swab duties, Sawib. See campaign page. This gives you an additional chance to interact with the rest of the NPCs.
Up in the riggings, Samms grins.
"Nah. Thought I'd get you out of the way in case they started brawling. Cog has had already his beating earlier. I'm surprised he still lasted so long against your friend. He packs a mean kick. I'm betting he kicks like a mule. Besides.......It's your turn to take night watch. Another will relieve you at night. Keep your eyes peeled you hear?"
| Jerieth |
Jerieth headed over to Sawib and congratulated him after he was away from the officers.
"You did fine work out there mate. Sorry if I withdrew too early but I figured I'd go ahead and withdraw my challenge. Didn't get want you or the others to get in trouble if I didn't withdraw my challenge. I had no choice either as the captain was quite adamant on me withdrawing it and while I wouldn't care if he whip the fresh off me I didn't want to get you or the others punished. If I do something wrong I don't want any punished in my place. Never thought that was a fair punishment anyhow. I maybe a numbskull but I'm willing to to lay down my life for those who I consider my friends."
