Alwyn Agnarrson |

Looking at Hudak's unnaturally messed-up face, Alwyn realises that the flying heads might actually pose a real danger. However, as he can't get to it with his sword, he pulls a javelin from its sheath on his backpack and hurls it at the flapping monstrosity.
Attack roll 14+2=AC 16. Is the last head actually in melee, or is this the screamer? If it is in melee with Hudak, I take an additional -4 for shooting into close combat, and then probably hit nothing. If, on the other hand, it is a hit, the head receives 4+2=6 points of damage.

Alwyn Agnarrson |

Xp! Huzzah!
Alwyn steps forward and retrieves his javelin. After trying to wipe away the worst of the flying head's noisome filth, he resheathes it.
"You are absolutely right", he mutters to Larken. "Goblin-freaks, flying head-freaks, wrathbeast-freaks... Hell, even the demon was something of a freak. This temple has a malign warping quality to it." He turns to Hudak. "What's wrong with your face? You're not usually this ugly. D'you think you've been poisoned or something?"

Elisile Starbrow |

Elisile turns to Illes and quickly bows her head. “My thanks for your timely intervention Illes Elandru,” she says. “That could have gotten nasty.” She then looks to Larken. “Are you well?” she asks. “Did the creature kiss you?”

Elisile Starbrow |

We'll search the room, then head out the far door.
Hang on - Veth said the platform looked unstable, we should head over it two by two. Get down to the cells and look inside, see if there's any prisoners.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

The party explores the rest of the complex, but finds no more threats. In the jail area they find cells filled with dusty skeletons, some disturbingly malformed but nevertheless inanimate. In the next they find a room with 10’ pits sunk into the floor. In each pit a leathery zombie shuffles about, oblivious to the visitors above and unable to climb out. These are swiftly dispatched at range with little effort and no danger. Another side corridor heads off to a spiral staircase, but this is blocked with impacted rubble from thousands of years past.
Gain another 50 xp each from offing the zombies.
With seemingly little more to find, the party re-emerge in the basement of the glassworks. They are immediately rushed, bloody and filthy (especially Hudak) to see Mayor Deverin. After assurances that the threat from below has been neutralized, she sighs with relief and sends the party off to recuperate from their ordeal. Wounds are healed, and Hudak receives special care from High Priest Xantus to purge the vargouille venom from his system and allow his wounds to heal completely.
The party have saved Sandpoint once more from invasion and horror. They are acclaimed the town’s heroes once more, and are clapped on the shoulder by passing citizens, young women flutter their eyelashes coquettishly, and they don’t have to buy their own beer for days.
Gain another 150xp, which should put you up a level. You have three days to heal up and do whatever before you are summoned back to see the mayor once more.

Hudak |

Sweet. New wardrobe to go with his new face.
"I'll buy the GRANDEST CODPIECE in ALL O" SANDPOINT!!!"
Now the vacillation begins; I'll need a day to determine if I wanna take 1 level of barbarian, or stay the fighter route.
I'm thinking improved bullrush for my new feat, unless PHB II or COMPLETE WARRIOR has something snazzier.
Too bad I can't take vile feats. I want to pull bats out of people like the wrestler The Undertaker does in this one video game.

Alwyn Agnarrson |

Over the next few days, Alwyn sets up an obstacle course of sorts in the woods outside of town and generally spends his time smashing things and honing his sword skills. The evenings are spent having a few beers and chewing the fat with his buddies. Good times!
Edit: Ooooh! 900 gold! Hello there, masterwork greatsword! Also, any chance of getting my mail enchanted by some local wizard?

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Well, there is the tiny dagger from the quasit, which is also magical. There is the scroll too, and various non-magical bits and pieces - there is a masterwork shield from the freaky goblin, for example. I suggest you put it all in a list, and volunteer someone to compile it. Sheesh - I'm not keeping track of your treasure; if you forget it, you lost it.
There isn't anyone in town who can enchant items. The wizardly and clerical community can handle scrolls and potions, but that is about it. In any case, the gp limit for Sandpoint is 800gp and the town assets are about 50,000gp - this crisis and its solution (you guys) are having a fairly severe impact, even if you are spending a lot of your loot in town too.
More expensive items can obviously be had down the road in Magnimar, but you are not yet free enough agents to venture there - there are still goblins to fight.

Hudak |

wrt selling gear; identifying mitems, etc,....I'll do all the bookkeeping on that at home either tonight or Friday night.
THEN, when that's done, I will post a proposal to identify certain objects, and to sell certain objects, and how this will all be divided equitably. THEN, I will leave a certain amount of time before the identify spells are purchased, AFTER WHICH, there will be a second discussion of what items to keep and which to sell, again allowing a certain amount of time to give everyone time to put their 2 cp's in.
I don't want a repeat of the bad karma from the healing wand purchase.
So...post the first, and then the second reckoning, how much time to allow? 1 day each sound feasible?

Alwyn Agnarrson |

Lessee... We have:
-Tsuto's shortbow, which is a Mwk shortbow (+1 Str). I think Elisile has it; if she wants to upgrade to a longbow, both Larken and Illes could use this bow.
-The statue's polearm, which is a Mwk glaive with some extra decorations.
-The goblin-freak's stuff - a Mwk (heavy wooden?) shield and a magical battleaxe.
-The quasit had a magical tiara ans a tiny magical dagger.
-The magical iron wand from the weightlessness room.
That should be about it.

Larken |

By my reckoning:
Tsuto's mwk shortbow (with Elisile)
Tsuto's mwk thieves' tools (with me)
statue' glaive (mwk at least)
mutant's Battle Axe (mwk at least)
mutant's Short Sword
mutant's Shield (mwk at least)
quasit's pendant
quasit's Tiara
quasit's Dagger
wand from the anti-gravity room
scroll (from the antigravity room?)
Have these items all been detected for magic?

Larken |

Larken buys a Masterwork Rapier (any chance of a mwk. cold-iron rapier in this burg?) a Masterwork Light Crossbow w/ 10 bolts, a flute, a new (not covered in monster goo) explorer's outfit, and a set of Masterwork Studded Leather armor. He also kicks in 50gp toward the identify spells. Total expenditure = 871gp (or 891gp if cold-iron weapon is available)
He spends his down-time hanging out with his friends, talking to girls, learning the basics of the flute and doing rapier practice with Illes.

Elisile Starbrow |

Tsuto's mwk shortbow
Tsuto's mwk thieves' tools (with Larken)
statue' glaive (mwk)
mutant's Battle Axe (magical)
mutant's Short Sword
mutant's Shield (mwk)
quasit's pendant (holy symbol of Lamashtu)
quasit's Tiara (worth 50gp - appraised by Elisile)
quasit's Dagger (magical)
wand from the anti-gravity room (weak evocation)
scroll (from the antigravity room - with Vethran)
Still in the "pot" from earlier:
2 mwk dogslicers
2 potions of clw (unclaimed I beleive)

Hudak |

Q1: Vethran can just figure the scroll out right?
Sandpoint Deputies' Business Proposal #1
To sell:
308 gp 2mwork dogslicers
? gp pendant-Lamashtu holy symbol
150+gp masterwork shield(what type?)
5 gp shortsword
154 gp mwork glaive
187.5 gp mwork short comp bow
12.5 gp studded leather armor
gives us
817 g.p. plus the value of the (50gp)tiara, holy symbol pendant, and the mwork shield. I don't know what type of shield this is; we're talking 2-10 gp here.
from this, I propose...
we will spend 300 g.p. to identify the battleaxe, dagger, and the wand,
leaving us with 517 g.p. + about 2-10 gp depending on type of shield and the value of the (50gp)tiara and the holy symbol.
I will take the battleaxe once it's identified; it isn't my weapon of choice, but I think it might be good to be able to hit DR X/magic foes.
Somebody take the dagger; somebody take the wand.
Once we're divvied, I propose with my cash to subsidize others' purchases of mwork weaponry and/or spellbook stuff if needed; I have a masterwork bastard sword and a magic battleaxe so don't really need much cash. Or, I'll duck out of the divvying of the gold garnered from sale of items. I don't need much cash if people are buying me beer and the girly's are winking their coquettes at me.
I also want Larken and Veth to each take a clw potion. They're low on hp's comparatively, and Larken's mobile as hell; who knows when he could save some bleeding schmuck that somebody else can't get to.
Thoughts? I earnestly want to include everybody in this.

Elisile Starbrow |

Elisile sells her longbow and composite longbow and purchases a masterwork comp. longbow.
She will chip in 50gp to get things identified (more if required).
She will also try to rustle up some silver and/or cold iron arrows, if such are available in town (though I doubt it).
On a spare day, she will scribe a scroll of magic weapon.
Elisile votes not to sell the tiara, tiny dagger or holy symbol of Lamashru – she’s worried about them falling into the wrong hands. If there is not a general agreement with this, she claims them as part of her share of the loot.
If the wand radiates evocation, Elisile cannot use it – it should probably go to Veth (depending on what it is).

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

The holy symbol is worth 50gp. The shield is a Heavy Wooden shield. The dagger is tiny (i.e. practically useless as a weapon) but identifies as a +1. A bit of experimentation reveals that it has the Returning ability (in other words - it is worth LOTS of money - don't keep it) too. The battleaxe is +1. The wand is one of Shocking Grasp (CL 1, 28 charges) and the scroll, already identified by Vethran using Spellcraft, is Burning Hands, CL 3.
Unusual materials like Cold Iron and Adamantine are not really available here - maybe two or three arrows, nothing more.

Sandpoint Deputies' Business Proposal #2
To sell:
308 gp 2mwork dogslicers
50 gp pendant-Lamashtu holy symbol
155.5 gp masterwork shield(what type?)
5 gp shortsword
154 gp mwork glaive
187.5 gp mwork short comp bow
12.5 gp studded leather armor
50 gp tiara
1,151 gp +1 returning tiny dagger
2,069.5 g.p. minus 300 g.p. identify charges
Mothy wants to keep the pendant, tiara, and tiny dagger(?)
1,769.5 g.p. how do we want to split this?
+1 battleaxe (1,155 g.p. wholesale) me--is that okay, or do you want me pay for it?
wand shocking grasp (375 g.p. wholesale) who wants it?
scroll (burning hands) who wants it?
2 potions of clw who wants them?

Elisile Starbrow |

Elisile’s rationale for keeping that stuff (tiara, dagger, holy symbol) is that they’re things used / worn by a demon – they may be tainted, and she doesn’t want them to fall into the wrong hands. If someone (Alwyn?) were to cast detect evil on them and they came up negative, that would make her feel much better about selling them. She’ll still kick in 50gp of her own to keep the holy symbol though, even if she just ends up burying it somewhere or something.
Can we even find a buyer for a tiny magical dagger in town though?
Apart from that, Elisile doesn’t want any of the other stuff.

Hudak |

Right on. Waiting for the word from our fearless d.m. on the possibility of sale of tiny dagger, though I think the fact that he sorta told us to sell it would imply the possibility is good; also we'd like to detect evil on the 3 items in question, to assuage Elisile's (not unwarranted) fears.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

1,151 gp +1 returning tiny dagger
The price for this should be 4,151gp. It detects as expensive, but not evil (nor does anything else - what were you expecting, the One Ring?). Frankly, it is a fascinating curio that the chap at the Feathered Serpent would happily take off your hands - apart from being an interesting weapon utility-wise, it is a Thassilonian relic with an interesting backstory. Still want to keep it?

Sandpoint Deputies' Business Proposal #2 (revised dagger.glaive, wand)

I don't want to keep it. Thanks for the math help; I'm tired and people are hollering a lot...
Just waiting for any and all qualms on the 2nd (revised) proposal.

Heh. We'll sell it.

Anybody read Conan the Internal Auditor? Me neither.
One of REH's lost classics. The bit of dialogue where he explains corporate governance to the High Priest of Thoth is golden.
EDIT: the cost of the wand is out too - its price needs to be reduced to reflect the number of charges remaining.

Elisile Starbrow |

Metagame-wise I wasn’t expecting anything like that …. in character, I get the feeling that Golarion elves are a bit twitchy when it comes to demons, so was trying to play up that aspect - you know, possesions of a demon picking up some sort of taint, that sorta thing.

I guess 210 g.p.? Crom!!!
(edit) Aub's...I'm gonna do U1 Saltmarsh (maybe in a month IDK). I know you don't want to play due to DMing, but the offer's open to ye.
I'll try to take all comers from our games, but I have six allready.

Dravite Schorl |

While we are checking availability, can a get masterwork full plate in town?
If yes, Does anyone want my scale mail?
I believe we have an 800gp limit in town.
Also no one can use the tiny dagger. It is too small. The penalties would be ridiculous for using it so it should be sold also.
