@Zatinya: I think we could need haste here. I doubt that it would be wasted against a full-fledged demon (if we have any chance whatsoever and this isn't a fraud-fight we are destined to loose for a break-out scene or something).

... but I'm a Catfolk who may or may not have been too long in a dungeon occupied by a dung-ooze, rats and too many undead, so who am I to trust my nose anymore *lol*

*note: in german, something smells fishy is a saying that means, something is off, a fraud, an illusion, some trickery (...).
No idea if it translates to english the same way.

We usually just say it "seems fishy" rather than "I smell fish," but same idea.

... I can cast Haste next round if you like, but I just attacked, so not this round.

Next round is fine.
This demon so gets his share of a hasted Emily pounce full attack next round after we blasted through his minions and I think the same goes for Marco (although he can probably can not full attack but the movement bonus should be nice).

@Choon: Any idea whether Grelthe's shared teamwork feat will continue to work after she is 'slain'?

No prob, I'm not the most responsive one either during weekends.
Just thought I'd point out that group is done.
Its too easy to miss that everyone had their round sometimes.
Sometimes I wish for a ready-button per player, so when they have posted and are done with their round, they just click ready to signal that they are done and once everyone has checked in, it is easy to see.
Especially if there is another site-break within one round...

Should my backup character start at level 4?

That's an interesting question. Normally they start at the same level as the rest of the party because of the steady progression of challenge in an AP. There is no such thing here. So I think it might be interesting for more mature characters to lead the newbies in. What do you all think?

I usually go with same lvl.
I like my players to be on the same level.

@Cain: Yes we're up atm. But confused, so roll a d100 to see if you do anything beside bubbling nonsense or hitting yourself...

EDIT: I think the GM-PC for Cain was from last round, wasn't it?

confusion is a sucker.
You have a 75% chance to suck - to a varying degree ranging from does_nothing to goes_berserk.
AOE confusion with heavy DC is terrible.

From a GM perspective: it sure would be easier to track XP if all your players were the same level. ;)

But I have also played where new characters start a little lower, and I'm fine with that if that's what we want to do, just need to know what level to make my character. I'm thinking maybe Cleric since if I'm dead we are down all our divine magic users?

Yeah the confusion is harsh to deal with. :/

That one turn where Cain would have hit me twice (because of the AoO from passing the note) would have outright killed me, past my negative CON score. Cain hits HARD. But I reminded Choon about the confusion roll so it didn't happen... I told you I wasn't trying to kill you all! lol

Will make Emily-mounted-Simon easy - even more so because I do not depend overly on the belt socket due to animal focus.

I am next to useless in a slime-fight.
I probably could let Emily Acid-Maw attack for 1d4 ongoing acid dmg but that is really ... mediocre.

So.. just trying to verify how acid damage affects weapons. It's the first time I've had this happen.

According to a table on that same link, my +1 Morningstar (which is a one-handed metal hafted weapon) has a hardness of 12 and hp of 30.

So... half of 10, minus 12 for hardness would leave me with no damage to my weapon? Is that right, or am I missing something?

Normally, yes, that's the rule. However, this creature is specifically designed to dissolve anything that isn't stone, so it will do full damage before hardness. Just thank your lucky stars I'm allowing you to keep your hardness. ;)
