looking at Dewyn and Thelma "If they get wise and sound the alarm, could you two use your magic to summon some magical critters to keep them busy while Sandra, Fishguts, and I climb aboard to help Atri?
basic plan:
Darvan casts air bubble and slipstream on Atri letting him swim and protecting his pistol from the water.
Darvan will hand onto his pike and powder.
Atri swims to the promise from our boat, climbs onto deck, lowers a rope, drinks his potion, and moves into position to sneak attack whoever is on watch.
The rest of us row up quietly and start climbing aboard. Darvan first, then Sandra, then Fishguts, then Thelma, and finally Dewyn.
Darvan will cast bull's strength as we row up and throw a bless when we reach the ship to help Atri and Owlbear as well.
If and when we lose surprise, Dewyn and Thelma use ranged weapons and summoned monsters to keep the crew occupied.
Once we're aboard we try and free Owlbear, seize the high ground, and kill those that won't surrender.

The plan works well. It is a dark night, with a half moon covered mostly by scudding clouds. Lightening flickers far off to the north.
Atri climbs up a rope near the bow without alerting anyone.
Looking about, he sees 4 sailors on deck. Three are ones who don't like you - Jaundice, Flipps, and Patch. They lie in heaps upon the deck, snoring. Owlbear is chained to the mainmast (which is normal). He also spots a keg of rum on its side. It looks like the crew got into the liquor pretty hard.

We row up as quietly as possible and either sandra or fishguts starts to climb up while Darvan casts a bless to help everyone.
Darvan will climb next, leaving his shield behind, but taking his trident.

Everyone creeps quietly along the deck. That is, until Sandara kicks a belaying pin on the deck which rattles along the deck and smacks into the mainmast. All the sleeper's eyes open!

Dewyn darts off to the side, trying to stay out of combat, and flings a ball of acid at Patch, who is fighting Sandara, causing a bit of damage (I changed Dewyn's target since Darvan put down his opponent)
Wilma begins a lively sea chanty, which will inspire her comrades to greater feats.
Sandara runs forward and stabs Patch in the thigh with her rapier. Patch's face turns gray with shock at this hit, but he stays on his feet, swinging back 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 and hits her for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Fishguts looks fearful, and runs to the ship's rail, and prepares an action to jump over if danger comes near him.
Aretta runs out of the bow cabin, and Atri hacks down hard, cracking her skull and killing her.
Master Scourge follows her out, and he attacks the beaked menace!

Cog also runs out, and heads toward Fishguts. You notice his hands are empty, and he just tries to grab the cook, who lets out a shriek and jumps overboard.
