Yeah, Drisquar's just confused (and stunned for one round). I'm ruling that because he's got the (chaotic) subtype until he loses the (Azata) one, he's not banished (but giving him the option to be banished to Abaddon if he prefers it as a player).
Summary of effects would be:
Gugs: ? (likely deafened)
Illia-: Banished
Drisquar: Deafened, stunned 1 round, then confused in following rounds
Meredian: Deafened, stunned 1 round, then confused in following rounds (I think? I don't think the +8 bonus to will applies here, but even without it, you'd succeed at the save vs banish)

Drisquar |

Wait a sec, I made the save, it was DC 23, I rolled a 25. I should only be confused for 1 round.

Meredian Adriatnaic |

When I make the switch Meredian will be more of a rogue than anything else. An effectively immortal invulnerable rogue with telekinesis, but still a rogue-like party role. In combat I pale in comparison to the others anyway, so it'll be good to have a specific niche.

The Dapper GM |

Yes, it can. Unless they're native, outsiders can almost always be hit by Banishment (and most outsiders have either extraplanar or native subtypes, while a creature that spends most of its life outside the material plane, a la Meredian, also acquires the extraplanar subtype).

Anaxian |

I'm going to consider some ways to prevent these sorts of banishments. It is a glaring weakness in our group.
The first thing that pops to mind is that we shell out for a couple Rings of Counterspells and put Word of Chaos and Banishment into them.
Does anyone have any open Ring slots?
Word of Chaos is a 6th level Inquisitor spell, so we'd need to buy a casting from a powerful inquisitor.
Banishment Sir John will be able to cast next level.

Anaxian |

Now that Del isn't in the party, I think we really need to rethink our tactics. We relied pretty heavily on her domination ability to shape our approach to situations.
Without that, I think stealth and coordinated ambushes would be a better way to go about things. Drisquar is an incredible scout, and Anaxian is no slouch either. There's very litter reason we couldn't approach our job with lots of pre-planning and tactical coordination.

Meredian Adriatnaic |

The primary reason we don't is because we will inevitably plan for weeks of real time due to our lack of a party leader to make a final decision.
Meridian has a history of getting bored in such situations an doing something to break the monotony. Buyer beware.

Illia- |

What mostly threw me off my grove about Banishment was the fact that I haven't gotten time to get my cloak +5'd, and the whole, free +4 to DC.
Also, they've also got Holy Word..
Seriously though, we can't block all save or "dies" with counterspelling.

Drisquar |

As much as I appreciate the two 'get bored with boring details and run off for sploedy times' PCs, we should try and avoid that as often as possible.
Otherwise, I get the feeling we'll continue to get hit with things that we can't easily recover from.

The Dapper GM |

It does seem most of the (small to begin with) player conflicts are now gone, and planning should go faster (or NPCs will weigh in with ideas).
Generally Dispel/Greater Dispel is your best bet for counterspelling.
Drisquar has at-will charm; weak, but still useful on peasants. And he still has Shimsil, the sword that can mind-control anyone who picks it up, but now it'll do that as an NPC if asked to.
Also, don't worry *too* much about dying. This party's pretty immune to that as a whole.
Also, level up to level 10. It'll be a bit before we see combat again, since everything in this part of the Darklands is under your control or murdered, so you can take your time. Copying the template from before:
-Drisquar should have 6 character levels
-Illia- should have 4 character levels
-Everyone else should have 10 character levels
Interesting loot from the Queen is a Reach metamagic rod, +4 Headband of Charisma, and +3 Cloak of Resistance.
Other than that, each character should gain around 20,000 gp of equipment of their choice (you've looted a lot more than this, but it's mostly in ingots of precious metal or tribute to be paid by the city in the future, and there's only so much the party can have crafted before their next mission).

Drisquar |

We gained one level, correct? Also, is my +2 template free thus leaving me with 6 actual character levels, or does it come outta those 6, leaving me with 4 levels?

The Dapper GM |

Gained one level, yeah. Drisquar, you're right; I forgot about the template (I ruled earlier that the template levels could instead be applied to character levels for monstrous folks only, but you're using them again) so you'd be Stalker 4.
@Anaxian: Don't forget about your shiny new dragon chassis.

Illia- |

I have a +2. The majority of my gear is still from an era where we thought the WBL should be for seventh level characters.
So, just so I'm clear, we're supposed to do around 20,000 gp worth of "items as we wish", representing what we were able to commission to be crafted, from the money we got from the city.
You're letting me spend an extra 1k of my own money, because I want 21k worth of crafting done.
*I checked, I've got about 44k of stuff, and an artifact.

Drisquar |

At level 10, we're to have 62k in gear, is the 20k on top of that, or included in our WBL?

The Dapper GM |

That's correct, Illia-. (Though Dris has the at-will charm).
Drisquar: I've been calculating WBL by ECL, not class levels (though if I get through everything I have planned for this campaign, it should end around ECL 20+). This means that, in addition to the treasure from the Lavosha dungeons that people forgot to keep track of selling, etc., you should be at ~110k worth of gear each (if I'm remembering correctly; with Anaxian and that robot crafting and the treasury you just looted making most regular gear available, we should be adding that +25% to get about 140k worth of gear each).
I'm not really sure how much wealth everyone in the party's at right now, but 140k worth of gear each seems like a reasonable place.

Sir John the Black |

I put myself at ~80k gear as instructed.
I am reading that I should update to about 140k.
P.S. anyone know of an item like the old prayer beads that increase cleric level for casting/channeling/undead?
also, assuming we are doing UNDA DA SEA what kinds of items should we be looking at? pooling a lil bit of wealth for a submarine?
