** spoiler omitted **
Stat array 18, 15, 15, 12, 12, 12GM, your house rules are confusing. Would you please copy them into the campaign info tab? Then, we can use the most clarified rules set.
I want to play a bard, spell points are not a stretch, but you have so many 5% bonuses I need to understand the math.
thanks
ok will do
as a bard you use the b column or 5,8,10 spp(b)
5+5 auto or 10% (campaign bonus + talent bonus)
meaning 6,9,11
when you hit 10th you will receive a further 5% bonus due to class
if at any time you take the feat that's another 5
5+5+5+5=20
so your 20th with these and the should be max stat of 29 (this will flux with prime stat)
168+105*1.2 = 328 sp

GM, another game mechanic question: how are spell points modified by the caster's ability score? This is pretty common to reflect casters with different natural talents.
thanks
is a chart on the link given but heres the jest of it.
1 spell per 8 stat per spell level or translated to spell points
stat from 12-19 gives this 1,3,7,13,22,35,51,71,91
stat from 20-27 gives this 2,6,14,26,44,70,102,142,182
..... and so on

For starting funds, are we going by Hit Dice, Class Levels, or Effective Character Level? For example, my character has 3 different values for those.
Hit Dice : 7
Class Levels : 5
Effective Character Level : 6And here is Milgen. I assumed 10,500gp. I can buy more if it's not the class levels that determine starting funds. I think I calculated the spell points correctly. He's going to be a nasty caster eventually, but mostly he's an excellent combat healer right now.
GM?
Jubal Breakbottle |
OK I figured out Spell Points.
Now, equipment. You specify nothing more expensive than 2500 gp, but how about a total?
Thanks for putting things in the Campaign Info tab. Please don't forget the links. Also some formatting and organization would make it much easier to use. Maybe add character build info, too, in order to update when you answer questions.
thanks
Captain Orsal Hort is being upgraded to 6th level.
GM Black Knives |
Ok as Jubal requested I fixed a few rules added in my decision rules from posts and placed those rules on the Campaign Page to make it easier to understand. Especially the house rules and reincluded the original link to the d20srd page link on spellpoints and a link to my google drive with the spreadsheet for spellpoints.

Thanks, now I just have to figure out what a Unicorn is going to do with all that money. A lot of awesome stuff I can buy but very little I can use.
I'll allow you to use staffs/rods/wands and rings you can tie the rings into your mane or tail to get the effects. And the wands/staffs/rods can be modified to be usable on your horn since that's magical in nature. Plus almost all of the wondrous items should be useable bye you just bye carrying them.
and with knowing that a ring of telekinesis would be exteamily helpful for your character down the road :).
plus you can modify boots to make them into horseshoes.
lots of ways to make magic items accessible to you.
Plus if you can find a smith who will work on it you can make magic tips for your horn to give you damage bonuses.
We get 16,000 gp, but nothing greater than 2,500 gp?
Yep that's it 2500 per item max and 16000 gold.
Jubal Breakbottle |
Captain Orsal Hort is about game mechanically done. Still have some pocket change of gold. Need to write a background going from 1st level to 6th.
cheers
PS Are we really playing with a magic Mr. Ed?

The forest still had a stale smell of smoke and burned embers. The druid's circle had been spared the flames, but only by the entire forest turning on the intruders.
Nixies, Pixies, Brownies, Grigs, Sprites and Spriggins crowd around the bases of stones, muttering angrily. Fauns, Satyrs, Leprechauns, Quicklings and even Bogeymen stood under the trees, muttering angrily with each other. The nearby stream was filled with angry Kelpie's and Nerieds, Nymphs, and even two extremely angry Rusalka splashed angrily in the water. An entire army of Atomie buzzed angrily around the stone circle, on overwatch. A dozen treants stood around the outside of the circle, some with burn scars, all muttering angrily in sylvan.
The oak in the center of the circle splits, and the Great Dryad steps out, her long legs shapely with a natural wood pattern for her skin. Her green hair rolls down over her tall body, and green eyes stare out. "Have the interlopers been dealt with?"
A treant, Malganith, the oldest in the forest, who towers 80 ft high groans. "They have Mistress. Although they burned Menerith before they left." A wave of angry sounds makes the rounds, Menerith was a very old Treant, almost as old as Malganith, and was well known by all.
The Dryad's eyes narrow, and the trees of the forest whip angrily. "We will have justice. We may not leave our forests, but those who have violated our forest will be punished." A great roar goes up from the assembly. The bogeymen grin widely. "Let it be known that the forest is closed to those who bear the symbol of fire! Any who enter with that symbol are to be exterminated on sight!" The assembled host roar in bloodlust. "Milgen! Attend me!" A gasp goes through the assembled host, especially the smaller hosts.
A single atomie, a full foot tall and 2.5 pounds in weight flutters down to land 10 ft from the Dryad. The Atomie bulges with muscles. While Atomie are usually considered more of a warning system than warriors, there are exceptions. Milgen is stronger than any other Atomie in the forest. Stronger than goblins and kobolds. He is faster than any other Atomie in the forest, and makes quicklings sometimes despair at his reaction speed. He is tall, with flowing green hair and green eyes that match his flawless green skin, and his voice is so pure that nymphs sigh and beg for a song from the Atomie.
Milgen bows stiffly. He stands up, and limps forward, one leg dragging. It is said he received the limp from humans whom he caught trying to enslave Fauns for selling in far away cities. It is said not a single human survived. "My lady, I come as ordered." His smooth voice flows over the clearing, bringing silence.
The Great Dryad nods. "Milgen, our forest will close itself against further attacks. But I fear those who attacked us may escape our vengance. I give you my power of high and low justice against the Flamed Ones. Go forth, gather allies from the mortals, and destroy the Flame." A gasp goes through the assembled host. Leave the forest? No one would willingly do that, surely Milgen will refuse!
The atomie only nods. "As ye wish, My Mistress. I shall go, and find allies, and I shall not return until this flame is destroyed, root and branch. I so swear on my blood." Another gasp goes up as Milgen exiles himself.
"We knew we could entrust you with this mission Sir Milgen. Go forth and destroy our enemies." The Great Dryad utters.
Milgen turned and limped away without a word. Once he was 10 ft away, he took to the air and zoomed on and out of the forest that had been his home, searching for allies to do his Mistress's bidding.

Sorry for the delay, I will most definitely have my character up tonight or tomorrow for your perusal though.
As a reminder, I'm working on an Advanced Faun Swashbuckler. Perhaps motivated by the constant intrusion and destruction of the woods he lives in.
He'll easily fall into the tank category as well. He'll have an AC of 29 and around 124 hit points.
Captain Fremont |
While the character is a Faun, he makes use of a Hat of Disguise to appear as a Human swashbuckler. In combat he relies not only on his mithral shirt and darkwood buckler, but his ability to parry his enemies attacks with his cold iron scimitars before lashing out with precise strikes. When he finds that a ranged weapon is clled for, he makes use of his mighty composite longbow which tends to be beyond the capabilities of normal men to use (Str +6).
He is a Dex based fighter, but one should not underestimate him when it comes to a test of strength either.
Hit Points: 18 (Max of 3d6 hit dice from being a Faun) + 50 (Max of 5d10 from 5 levels of Swashbuckler) + 56 (8 hit dice * 7 con) + 5 (5 hit points from favored class Swashbuckler) = 129
Armor Class: 5 (Natural Armor) + 5 (+1 Mithral Shirt) + 6 (Dex) + 1 (Swashbuckler Nimble Ability) + 2 (+1 Darkwood Buckler) = 29 (This may be bumped with a Ring of Protection and/or an Amulet of Natural Armor.)

I would love to play in a campaign using the spell points system, got room for a Faerie Dragon Wizard/Beguiller into Ultimate Magus? The Beguiler and Ultimate Magus are 3.5 material, but from common splat books (and neither is exceptional powerful).
5d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 1, 5) = 17
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 5, 6) = 25
5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 6, 2) = 12
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 5, 4) = 18
5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 4, 2) = 12
5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 2, 1) = 13

Actually Tenro I'm gonna extend recruitment to Thursday. That way everyone can talk in the discussion part over this weekend.
The first piece of the puzzle falls into place on Sunday or Monday depending on what you guys want
Bluerelic look here for a pf beguiler's handbook as it seems that I don't actually have that 3.5 book which is interesting as I have a lot of 3.5 stuff HERE'S THE LINK
Your stats array would be 15,18,12,14,12,12 bluerelic (gotta drop the lowest 2 dice)
here is the stat bonus array for them with monsters as players rules done for you
-1 str,+6 dex,+2 con,+4 int,+2 wis,+4 cha
added new bit to char creation saying if you wish to reroll you may but you have to take the 2nd roll if you roll it.
Captain Fremont |
Lucius Fremont's stats are done. You can find them under the first spoiler on this alias' profile.
He is quite the smooth-talker and while he may not wear heavy armor, one should not underestimate his combat capabilities. He combines his quick reflexes, thick skin, and equipment to put up a nigh impenetrable defense, while lashing out with precise strikes from his scimitar.
When the situation calls for a ranged attack, he makes use of his great strength to put his mighty composite longbow to use.
GM Black Knives |
Tenro no the undead rule only applies to players.
Undead are affected by positive/negative as usual.
As most players are NOT undead to begin with its a long hard road unless they actively search out vampires (and even then their not free till their master dies!)
Players who are wishing to go that route should read up on the elf ancestors.
Heres a brief exert
The elves are not content with their long life spans and have found a way to preserve their ancestors beyond death, anchoring them to the world of the living through devotion and spiritual sacrifice. The Undying Court is seated in Shae Mordai , guiding the nation from there. Unlike other undead, The Undying Court are sustained by the devotion of their descendants and have no need for blood or life energy as other undead do. The followers of The Undying Court see the Blood of Vol as abominations for feeding off of the living. The members of The Undying Court are not gods, they are ancient, wise and powerful. Like other religious leaders, members of The Undying Court can lend powers to their followers.

The Beguiler is located in the PHB2, in case you just glanced over it. It advances casting at a similar rate to sorcerer, so unless otherwise stated by you, I assume it uses the E category for spp. Do I keep spp from multiple spellcasting classes separate (I would assume you would), or do they add to the overall total?
Bluerelic |
Also, I'm more than willing to take a different spontaneous caster for that build if someone else would like to play a rogue type character. I really only intended to pump disable device and social skills. Magister is a really good choice for this combo as well, and it would allow me more spell access if someone would like to fulfill a more traditional sneaky rogue build.
Edit: One more question, things that refer to "Character Level" is this just all class levels as normal, or are they class levels plus racial hit dice?
