They came from different places, different times, perhaps even different worlds. But each was sure they had died... so why are they here now, alive, in this strange place, and why do these hourglasses slowly empty, what event does their last dribbles of sand portend?

Look James Bond I know its a hassle to be an "International Man of Mystery" but really I have to wait till Friday? Can't you just use a laser watch or something to wrap all that other stuff up? :D
Time zone transitions suck. Being sick sucks. Work sucks. Take your time, its all good.
I know I've been really silent lately. Since the beginning of October, work has had me slammed. Long days with close coming deadlines... and now I'm trying to do the work I'm assigned plus the work that I'm pulled off that assigned work to get done first to get told I need to do better because the assigned isn't done. It's drained everything from me.
I know things are going to be crazy at work through at least the beginning of the year. Could be longer... I don't know for sure.

Sorry everyone, I had a family emergency Friday afternoon. And then another one Sunday morning. I'm a bit shellshocked. I may be a bit spotty this week on posting.

Sorry everyone, we're on break until after christmas. I've been sick for a week, bronchitus. Doctor gave me a z-pak (alergic to penicilin) and it's wiping me out. I'll be dragging bottom for at least 3 more days, and that takes us to X-Mas, so we're on break until next week. Sorry, collapsed last night and slept all day Saturday.

I don't know why I feel this way, but I think this artic hectate sounds like a lot of fun. Of the three we've seen since crossing through the frog-people's lands, I'm enticed by this one a great deal.
I'm willing to continue exploring for other, less extreme environs if the rest of the group feels strongly about it, but I'd be pretty stoked to give this one a shot, even if it means we need to schlep back to the boat to request more gear from the voice.
Other possible avenues for supplies could be trading with the frog-folk or hunting along the edge of the jungle hectate for furs and fire wood and the such.

Eh, Goragg cares not as long as he's warm. I don't think we have enough cold weather gear, though, so my guess is we need to schlep back and ask The Voice for it.
Personally, I'd prefer to explore what we can now and schlep back later. I don't think our mysterious benefactor would be happy if we didn't at least try to explore a bit before coming back and returning 'coz we fancied it would not be an acceptable reason.
I was already carrying cold weather and we brought three other sets. Did anyone else have one? We have a couple of small ones too, which I assume we could modify to fit Palakka somehow?

How about we skirt the southern border straight across through Row 10? If it gets too unbearably cold, we can pop into the jungle-that-has-no-idea-what-'cold'-is land on the other side of the border.

This pliant black clay is always pleasantly warm to the touch. Working blackfire clay in your hands for a full round causes the clay to grow much warmer, granting you a +4 alchemical bonus on saving throws made to resist cold weather. You can combine five blocks of clay over the course of a minute to produce a source of warmth equivalent to a small campfire, allowing you to heat a campsite and cook food.
Blackfire clay only produces heat, never light, smoke, or odor. The clay emits warmth for 1 hour before hardening into an unusable lump. A newly created brick of blackfire clay is composed of 10 blocks.
We have a fire going now, Grim. As neat as blackfire clay is, I don't see how that'd help us now if a full fire isn't enough to save us from freezing to death after nightfall.
I always thought of Blackfire Clay as one of those strange things that is more useful than fire for survival but less so for basic camp tasks. Like the packs you can break to warm your hands IRL. So strangely helpful for not dying out right but not so great at making a meal?
So, it seems to me we never resolved the issue of the gear. I made a comment at one point that we could carry it all but we never really broke it down...now that we are making rafts I'm wondering if we should resolve that?

Probably, unless you're going to leave the gear in the jungle hectate while you sleep in the ocean hectate (or leave it in the frozen hectate while you sleep in the ocean hectate).

Loaded up the donkeys with arrows, donkey chow, and adventurer chow. A lot of the stuff seems like we could do without it, like folding chairs and tents.
I suggest we italicize items in the master list when they have a carrier, so we can see at a glance what we have with us.
