Rex will walk out, and go to Adran.
What do we do with the Inn?

GM:
When Caithan reaches his destination he starts banging on the door as insistently as he did at the inn.

Grimm finds a small wooden serpentman humanoid statuette, hidden in a closet.

He also finds a coin purse until the mattress though it is leaner than anticipated... containing 18cp, 28sp and 3gp.

Caithan Kalson pounds on the door of the house and is answered by the human, somewhat cautiously... Yes?

Having finished helping Grimm with the search, Adran will return to the main room of the inn. When Rex asks Adran about the inn, Adran replies:

"That is an excellent question, but one that I can't answer now. If it turns out that the man at the door was wrong and the Constable is trustworthy, then we just dump all the problems related to the inn in his lap. If it turns out that the Constable is a cult member, we could be in for the fight of our lives. Regardless of how that fight turned out, we would not be able to stay here."

"The bigger problem being that having been hired by a courtier of the Countess to do this job, we should operate within the law to the extent that we can. We've got 5 dead bodies to deal with and strong evidence of an organized gang kidnapping people out of here. That's a legitimate problem for law enforcement. Absent good information that the Constable is part of the gang, he's got to be told what's going on."

"If I thought there was an easy way to sweep the entire mess under the rug for a while I would. But it's only a question of time until the townsfolk and the other cultists realize something has gone badly wrong here. Mere hours if we're lucky, minutes if we're not. Having the Constable brought here without knowing where he stands is a serious risk. But if it turns out well a lot of our problems get a lot easier. If it turns out poorly we will likely find ourselves in a serious fight we may have to run from. But at least then we will know we are going to have to operate totally outside the local law."

"We may have to end up burning the inn down anyway. I don't want to do that if for no other reason than it will likely make the hermit more difficult to deal with. I will let you know if I think the situation calls for that, so for the time being no more fire bolts in the building."

Rex looks down.
I have just killed a man. I need to redeem myself. If there is anyone I can convince to leave the cult, I will.

Grimm takes the items he discovered in the Innkeepers room back into the main taproom.

"What in the hells happened here? Whats going on...did I hear someone banging on the door?"

Rex is upstairs. As far as I can work out some others came to help you.

Adran had gone into the inn keeper's room to help Grimm during the tail end of the search. Rex had also said that he had gone to talk to Adran. I would think given that Beckett had been told to put his gear on and no longer has a patient that would put all of us in the inn's main room with Beckett getting armored up.

At this point in time Adran believes that he had killed the inn keeper with an eldritch blast during the fight. Adran doesn't know that Rex just stabbed the inn keeper to death.

Adran says to Grimm, "We had somebody come to the door while you were searching the inn keeper's room. He was naturally suspicious of us and did not trust the story I had come up with as a cover. I told him to bring the Constable here largely because he had said he was going to do that anyway and also because it was just a question of time before the Constable learned that something was badly amiss here."

"I will grant that having the Constable come here is a serious risk given that we don't know for sure where the Constable stands in all this. But if it turns out that the Constable is trustworthy then a lot of our problems end up going away. If it turns out that the Constable is a cult member then we will likely be in for our most serious fight to date."

The guy was after me, and because he got up before, As stated Rex did not know he was healed, he wanted to make sure that the man couldn't hurt anyone anymore. Rex will tell Adran anyway.

Rex will whisper into Adran's ear. The innkeeper is dead. He got up and was threatening Beckett, I gave him a choice to stop and be peaceful, or die. He lunged for my dagger, and I killed him. Please don't make me hold a weapon again. I have already left my daggers near the innkeeper.

Male Mountain Dwarf Cleric (War) - 3, AC 18 HP 21/[21] Init + 0 Inspiration 1

Grimm moves over to the door and looks outside. Seeing no one he grunts and turns to the others.

"I think maybe we should move the bodies from where they are. Maybe take them to the basement and see if there is someplace we can put them. No sense just leaving them here...and we can always say no one was here when we got back!"

Adran says, "We have a dilemma. If the Constable is honest, moving the bodies and lying about it would be a couple of strikes against us making him less likely to believe us. If the Constable is corrupt, we may have to burn the inn. In which case it won't matter what we do with the bodies."

Adran turns to Rex and whispers, "I will not force you to hold a dagger if you don't want to. But circumstances might. I would recommend that you take one of your daggers back simply because it can be useful as a tool. You do not necessarily need to wield it as a weapon. Other than that if you do not learn to try to think through likely outcomes of your actions and control your emotions you will be dangerous to yourself and others regardless of what you use as weapons."

GM:
"Tara and Kaitha have gone missing. I went to strnagle the truth out of that bastard innkeeper. But now strangers have taken over the inn and refused to let anyone in. I'd go to the constable but I'm just as sure he'd stab me in the back as help me."

I understand Adran. Rex will go grab one of his daggers. He looks at the Innkeeper one more time. He Uses his dagger to cut some of the burned wood. He then takes another dagger from the ground, and uses it to connect the two pieces of wood so it shapes a cross, and he lays the attempt at a cross near the innkeeper.

Pharasma, I know this man was a cultist, and had no faith in you, but listen please. Please watch him his death, he died needlessly, he shouldn't have to be tortured in his death.

He will then go to the door, and wait for the man they saw to come back. I will not let others die needlessly. If there is anyone I can convince to abandon the cult, I will. This I swear. That man said the constable was one of the cultists. Maybe I can convince the constable.

Sorry all - I'm closing down this game.

Beckett is dropping and the situation is screwed up with the new player running off to talk to another new player - who PM'ed me that he isn't ready. It would take a few days to a week of RP just to get the game back on track and now three of the original six, two of which were clerics, are gone.

Coupled with work constraints? I think its easier for me to end the game.

Thanks all for participating and apologies that I am ending the game.
