GM redeux |

Hello, This is the discussion page for Outpost's season of plundered tombs.
The event will run from March 5 - April 30. Past that will be optional (I will likely be willing to continue for any interested players, though this will not be required).
This will be a bit long, but i ask everyone bear with me. Please read each section to make sure we're all on the same page and ready to go next week!
#1 - Verification
For online play we need verification that you own the class decks if you haven't done so already. Please write your PFS number&paizo username on a piece of paper and take a picture with the class deck you're using. Then send to cartmanbeck@orgplayonline.com (this is our Venture Captain).
#2 - Check in
Please go ahead and check-in to confirm you're still intending to play. Generally we'd give 3 days to check-in but with the tables changing I might be a little more flexible on this. If any of you have changed your minds about playing, then please let me know and we'll remove you with no hard feelings!
#3 - Posting expectations
I ask that everyone be able to post within a 24 hour period of it being their turn. There is some leniency with this when communicated in advance, but that is just the general guideline.
#4 - Character selections
If you haven't done so already, please finalize your character selection. please feel free to discuss as a group if you need help narrowing it down. Once everyone has finalized I can send a deck handler spreadsheet to each of you which is how we'll be tracking what cards are you in your deck/hand/etc.
#5 - Timezone and posting availibility
My last outstanding item is what Timezone are each of you in? And what is your general availability to post? I ask because I'd like to try to make the turnorder based off of availability to minimize delays. Let me know below!
#6 - Questions
I think that about covers it. If you have any outstanding questions then please let me know either on the discussion boards or via PM.
Thanks for bearing with me and reading that. I'm super excited to get this kicked off and I promise it'll be more fun once we get started!! Cheers,

Greenclaw |

1. Verification photo already sent to cartmanbeck
2. Yep, I'm still here and looking forward to it
3. Sure, np
4. I am still intending to play Flenta the Fighter but could switch to someone else from another deck if needed
5. I am in Sydney, Australia so a few hours ahead of the USA. Compared to US ET I am active from about 4pm onwards and all through your night, but by the time you guys wake up the next day it is about midnight here and I'm shutting it down for the night
6. No questions atm
Thanks for taking over our game!!

![]() |

#1 - Verification
I've already taken care of this, for my class decks and promo cards.
#2 - Check in
(waves)
#3 - Posting expectations
I have enough games that I'm on the site frequently, so posting once a day won't be a problem.
#4 - Character selections
I will be either using my magus deck or paladin deck; I'm waiting to see what others play. (I may have misspoken earlier and said cleric)
#5 - Timezone and posting availibility
I'm in US Eastern time, and available most days intermittently from about 8 AM to 10 PM.
#6 - Questions
I don't think I have any other questions right now.

Redgar's ACG Characters |

Greetings!
#1: email sent!
#2: Ready, aye, ready!
#3: I forsee no major hurdles, though April 12-14 and April 24 - 27, I likely won't be posting until the evening or posting more than once.
#4. I can play a Bard, a Cleric, or a Wizard, depending on group preference.
#5: I'm Atlantic Time (Halifax, NS, Canada). I'm available most days intermittently from about 9 AM through 11 PM my time.
#6: This will be my first real PACG game (though I have played the heck out of the Obsidian port), and my first PACG OP game. Any advice / common rules of etiquette that I should know to make your lives easier?

GM redeux |

Excellent everyone, glad to have all of you and also excited that Redelia has returned!
Redgar and all - PACG OP uses this guide *link*. The biggest difference compared to normal games is how we handle deck upgrades. I will help the group with that, but it will look something like this:
At the end of each scenario we'll take any acquired cards and list them out by their card type and adventure deck level.
For example we may have acquired
Armor B
Weapon 1
Spell 1
Spell B
Blessing B
Item B
etc
Then, each character picks one card to use as a deck upgrade but we can't have multiple people pick the same card. We'll do a rolloff if multiple people want the same card. Once everyone has decided their deck upgrade then they can replace one card in their deck with one card from their blessing deck of that same (or lower) level. So if I got a Weapon 1 upgrade I could replace a weapon with one of my weapons of Adventure Deck 1 or lower in my class deck. This is meant so that in a physical setting you could take your deck anywhere and you're not pulling cards out of the box and keeping them forever.
I'll help out with how that whole process works once we finish the first scenario. There aren't a lot of other changes with organized play that will run into immediately. I guess one caveat is that organized play does go by the perma-death rule so just make sure you're not going reckless expecting free revives like in a home-game where you houseruled against perma-death.

#1 - Verification
Stylish Photo Layout shot by a world recognized photographer who has captured the feel and essence of many supermodels and world leaders already submitted to cartmanbeck.
#2 - Check in
Red 5 standing by.
#3 - Posting expectations
Not a problem.
#4 - Character selections
I'll be running Raheli from the Witch Deck.
(It's been quite a while since I played the ACG. And this is my very first time of any kind of play by post game.)
#5 - Timezone and posting availibility
Central Time USA. I will be able to post between 6pm-10pm Central.
#6 - Questions
None at this time.

Seelah by Redelia |
This is Redelia's character. I'll be using the version of the character sheet from the RotRunelords box.
Two things that might look wonky: She has a blessing 1 in her starting hand because I ran out of Blessing B's.
She has the promo card 'paladin's helm' in her starting hand, because I own the card (proof was sent to VC as requested) and the card has 'owner: Seelah' on it.
I've already set up a spreadsheet for her; it is linked in the character's header.

Glad to see we've got 4 people checked in! we're still waiting on 2 more to check in. It doesn't look like either of them checked in on the previous thread before we switched over. I'll try sending them one more PM and if we don't get a response within 24 hours then I'll get the game posted for the 4 of you who have checked in tomorrow night (EST). Any late-comers would then be welcome to join us on the next scenario at that point. It's a shame the PM's are so hidden in the new format and I hope it gets fixed soon!
In the meantime...
I'm running a bit behind on time so if each of you could prepare your own character manager sheets then that would help me out a lot. Here are the instructions with a link to the spreadsheet: CLICK HERE*link*.
Cartmanbeck gives instructions in the post on how to set it up. What you'll want to do is get it all set up and then linked in your character alias like Seelah/redelia has right above my post. If you can't figure it out then no problem--just shoot me a PM tomorrow night along with your email and I'll help you get it set up.
This is also the time to finalize character Selections. So far I have:
Redgar/TBD - bard/cleric/wizard.
Redelia/Seelah
Greenclaw/Flenta
Kamicosmos/Raheli
If our other players check in we'll have Adowyn and a TBD Alchemist. so far our party is fairly well rounded so Redgar I would say pick whichever class deck you think you'll have the most fun with. Rest of the party can comment if they have an opinion on it.
We have a d10 STR, d10 DEX, D8 CON, d8 INT, d8 WIS, d10 CHA as our highest in each stat from the three of you who have picked a character.
The above listing is also what I'm tentatively planning for turn order. Since we are playing a game from different geographic locations this should help minimize delay, though you still have 24 hours from when it is your turn to post so no need to rush. I'll roll at the start of each scenario to determine the starting player of the turn order.
Thanks and I'm excited for us to get started tomorrow night!

Alright, spreadsheet set up and linked. Hopefully I did the sharing right. Let me know if I just blew my whole gdrive open to the world...heh.

Flenta by Greenclaw |

Ok, I've got Flenta's deck set up as well and ready to go. No rush, though. I for one am more than happy to start a bit late given you've taken on this game at very late notice and we've got at least one person new to this way of playing.

Sorry for the late post. Just saw the link in the sign up sheet. Here are my info for this session.
1. Email sent
2. Checked in and ready to go
3. Noted
4. All I have is a Hunter Class Deck and I'll be playing Adowyn.
5. I'm from the Philippines, that's GMT +8. Around 12 hours ahead of EST.
6. I am very new to ACG, having played only the video game. I'll just ask the questions as we go along. =)

GM redeux |

Excellent, glad to have you join us Marjim!
Everyone= I have posted the first scenario with the locations. Normally at this time I would include all of the cards in the scenario, but I am waiting on finalizations of character selection first. Otherwise it messes up the turn order a bit once.
New to Mummy's Mask
Some of you may be new to mummy's mask. Here's a few things that are different:
1. During each scenario you have a chance of suffering a scourge if you fail to reduce certain types of damage by at least 1. Starting out, if you fail to reduce acid damage by at least 1 then you would suffer a scourge. At that point you would roll the current scourge die, which is 1d4+1 and the result would be what scourge you get. The scourges are going to be listed in each scenario update for easy reference.
For example, If I suffered 3 acid damage from an acid trap and I wasn't able to reduce it by 1, then after discarding my 3 cards for damage I would roll 1d4+1
Scourge: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Curse of the Ravenous
I would put that as "Displayed" in my character tracker. The curse of the ravenous text can be seen in each post update if you expand the "scourges" spoiler and then scroll down to i t.
Now, in this example if i had a shield that could reduce acid damage by 2, then I would still take 1 acid damage but since i reduced the damage by at least one I would not suffer a scourge.
2. Triggers - AdowynPay extra close attention here. In Mummy's mask there are things called Triggers. When you examine a card if it has the "trigger" trait then that means something (usually bad) happens. It might mean that you take damage, it might mean that you immediately encounter the bane, it could mean lots of things. This is meant to add some risk/reward to choosing to examine, whereas in previous sets it was always in your best interest to examine. There are also times where you will be forced to examine, due to closing certain locations, or because a certain bane will make you. No matter what, if you are examining and come across the trigger trait then you'll have to follow those directions.
3. Traders are something new to Mummy's Mask. I'll go over those after the first scenario. We can ignore them for now.
Henchman/Villain
In the scenario update you'll notice I included the Villain and Henchman information behind spoilers. I understand that some people like to know what is coming, while other like the surprise. So please reference those if you would like, but try to respect others unless all of you communicate that you are OK with knowing what is coming
When making posts
When making posts in the campaign thread, when you roll, PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING FORMAT:
Cure DC 6 divine: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 acquired
This lets me see very quickly what card you are encountering(Cure), what the difficulty (DC) was (6 divine) and then what you rolled to determine whether or not you succeeded.
The other thing I ask is when you mention another character's name, please use BOLD. This will help draw attention to the post. For example if you use Seelah's blessing because her notes said it was OK, then say using Seelahs blessing
For the rest of your posts, I won't be too picky on formatting. Just try to stay consistent within your own posts. Describe when you explore, have to discard cards, draw cards, etc.
conclusion
Sorry, I know that's a lot! I just want to make sure we're all on the same page going into this! As always, feel free to ask me questions. If you're in the middle of a post, feel free to post halfway through and ask me in the post your question. You can also post in this discussion thread, send me a private message on the forums, You can also shoot me a hangouts invite to: am.fear.liath.mor1@gmail.com. I'll be available for whatever questions you have so please don't hesitate to ask!!
Once everyone gets their starting locations hands done, then we can begin (and if you need help with the spreadsheets, let me know, my last post above talked it through but I can help if those instructions aren't clear enough).

Flenta by Greenclaw |

One of Enora's powers is that when she uses a spell she banishes it but then draws a random card with the arcane trait (without an adventure deck number) from the box.
She cast a spell (Strength) in her last turn. How does she go about getting this random card? In hawkmoon's game he provided a list of random cards by type in the scenario update thread. Are you able to do the same, or perhaps just draw the random card for her? I'm more than happy either way.

![]() |

Anyone else having trouble with the spreadsheet? I updated it with my recharges and discards, but now it won't Draw. Doesn't do anything with TRUE or 1. There isn't a formula in the box now, perhaps I deleted it?

GM redeux |

Flenta- - posted in campaign thread for spell. I'll get more in the heading for future use.
Raheli-I requested access to edit your sheet. it looks like you've been Copying and Pasting which messes up the formulas. We need to either Type the info in, or use the Paste Values feature which can be done with CTRL+SHIFT+V. If you give me access I can try to fix it (likely by restoring an old version and putting the card names where you currently have them).

GM redeux |

Okay, it looks like even giving me edit access doesn't give me full-access. What i would do is this:
Open the spreadsheet and go to "File->Version History-> See version history". I sidebar will open up. Check the box to "show only named versions". I named one as "back-up". Click on that and then click "RESTORE THIS VERSION in a green box.
Once it is restored, you'll need to move your cards to the appropriate fields:
Displayed: Snapping Turtle
Discarded: Blessing of the Gods 2, Frigid Blast, Haunted Doll
Recharged: Blessing of the Gods 1, Crow
If that's too much trouble then let me know and i can email you a new version of the spreadsheet that I own and can edit the protected regions/restore backups in the future. Though this usually is just a one-time thing since once you know to ctrl+shift+V or to type out the data then the formulas don't get messed up in the future. (And don't sweat it too much....I made the same mistake my first time using it too)

![]() |

Cool, thanks! I did the sharing wrong, so in the future, you now have full edit access.
And, I've got it squared away now, so should be good going forward.

GM redeux |

Looks like Adowyn found the villain! Nice work! Now you guys just have to decide if you want to live the villain alone or encounter now!
Speaking of putting cards in the campaign info, are there any cards you guys would like for me to put up there from your decks for others? Such as cards that you will be frequently using to help others. If you guys want I can put some up there, otherwise you can always just summarize the abilities in your "notes" section of the spreadsheet. For example in my campaign I'm playing as Kyra when I draw my Find Traps spell I add in the notes: "Okay to use Find Traps, It will give 2 die to check to defeat barrier"

Flenta by Greenclaw |

I personally don't like to fight the villain more than is necessary and would vote for leaving him where he is until we've got all the open locations covered. Make make sure we get ourselves in position to temp close and then defeat him when we're ready.

![]() |

I also like to get everything locked down once the villain is spotted.
I dislike chasing them from location to location.

Flenta by Greenclaw |

Flenta will go to maybe the Tarworks or the Sulfur Pits. Happy enough with either, if only one ends up being left.

![]() |

Adowyn doesn't have the skills to close out the Tarworks so I'm leaning towards sending her to the Sulfur Pits.

Flenta by Greenclaw |

Go for it. I'm happy to send Flenta to the other. Flenta will no doubt grumble about moving from bricks to tar, but she'll just have to suck it up.

![]() |

On my last turn, I took 2 damage. Then used my Snapping Turtle cohort to reduce that damage to 0 by placing him on top of my deck. So, now when I refill my hand, I draw 1 card up to my hand limit, which is him, correct? Then, no more. Start of my next turn I display him, and continue on from there?

GM redeux |

Mostly correct. You're right that you would draw 1 card up to hand limit which is your snapping turtle. Difference is that Snapping turtle can be displayed at any time since it does not say "on your turn." I'd recommend displaying it sooner than later just in case you forget or in later scenarios we might run into effects/barriers that would make you discard/bury cards off-turn.

![]() |

Are we allowed ask others to discard their blessings for our check? If so, who can spare some?

![]() |

I have a blessing of the gods in my hand for use if you need it. (Added to notes as well.)

![]() |

I may have had an invalid card in my hand this whole time.
Haunted Doll does not have Basic on it. Means I shouldn't have it yet, right? If so, I'll swap it out for a Basic card. I never got to use it, so no effect on the first scenario.

GM redeux |

New scenario is up. Note that there is a new section of "random cards" built into the post. I'll try to refresh these each time I make a game update. If you guys exhaust all of the random cards before I make a new update, just let me know and I'll post more.
This will be especially useful for Flenta's powerfeat, though if none of them are arcane/basic then i can find one in particular for that.

GM redeux |

For Lightning Storm I've put the card as "known and face up" in the location listing so the card text is still available. And then i noted in the "Located here" that it is displayed. So in the future when we encounter Lightning storms just know that this doesn't count as your exploration if it is already displayed. I just don't have an easy way of marking it as Displayed with all the card text (the spoiler is too long to put in the Located here box).
Does that work for everyone? Alternatively I can just leave it as "Located Here" and put the card text in the campaign heading. I'm open for whatever is easiest for everyone so let me know.

Flenta by Greenclaw |

Works for me.
Has anybody got a power or card that can move Flenta away from the Oasis before her next turn, thus avoiding her having to encounter the Storm?

Redgar's ACG Characters |

Alas, I do not. :(
As a general note, in looking over the logs from last game, I realized I was a foolish bunny and forgot about the Dilapidated Plaza power. So I thought I'd flag here (especially because Lem is horrible spell hoarder who loves his tasty, tasty higher AD spells whenever they can be acquired. ;)):
For the rest of the scenario, when a character at any location attempts a check, after the roll, he may bury a card to reroll 1 die and take the new result.

GM redeux |

BTW, also meant to post this earlier: This is the Alchemical Lab that is added later during this scenario
Alchemical Laboratory
Traits: None
At This Location: If your roll exceeds the difficulty of a combat check to defeat by 4 or more, each character at this location is dealt 1d4 Acid damage.
When Closing: Succeed at an Intelligence or Craft check with a difficulty of 5 plus the scenario's adventure deck number.
When Permanently Closed: On closing, draw 3 random items that have the Alchemical trait from the box and shuffle them into this location.
M:1 Ba:2 W:0 Sp:2 Ar:0 I:3 Al:1 Bl:0 ?:2

GM redeux |

Context - from this *link* post. Thought it might be more useful to keep trigger discussion here for future reference if needed.
The Second Law
Barrier 1
Traits
Curse
Law
Elite
Trigger
Check
None
Powers
When you examine this card, encounter it.
Display this card next to the scenario; it is defeated. While displayed, when a barrier is defeated, if your check to defeat exceeds the difficulty by 1d6 or more, each character at that location banishes a card or summons and encounters the henchman Voices of the Spire, then banish this card.
Okay so whenever you examine a card with a trigger trait it will have a line of text that reads "when you examine this card, **DO THIS THING**"
Those "things" can be different. Here are a few examples:
"bury an ally"
"summon and encounter a Ubaskii Swarm"
"encounter this card but difficulty is increased by 3"
or in this case "encounter this card"
In this case Adowyn got perhaps the "best" scenario because she gets to encounter the card at no disadvantage. Basically like a free explore as long as you are prepared for it.
Adowyn can attempt to evade this card since the trigger ability does not read "When you examine this card, encounter it. You may not evade this encounter"
If Adowyn does not evade the encounter then the Law will get displayed.
In the future it is important to note that not all triggers force you to encounter the card. You only encounter the card if the trigger tells you to

GM redeux |

Hi all, just a heads up I'll be out of town this weekend from Saturday morning to sometime Monday evening. I'll be in the backlands with no or very limited internet access. This means I won't be able to post any game updates though I may be able to answer a rules question or two if I find the time and the internet works out. Let me know if you need anything before then!

FYI, we now have a lodge specifically for online card game recruitment, the Flaxseed On Deck Lodge

GM redeux |

As part of the Outpost convention we have player boons! Since you guys have completed 2 scenarios, you're eligible for a boon roll! 1 or 20 wins a boon!
I'm going to go ahead and roll for everyone here:
Redgar/Radillo: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Winner!!
Redelia/Seelah: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Kamicosmos/Raheli: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Marjim Marc Arafiles/Adowyn: 1d20 ⇒ 19
GM redeux: 1d20 ⇒ 15
@Radillo - Since we're playing the ACG and there are no ACG boons for this event, you'll need to pick PFS or SFS. Then roll a 1d4 if you pick PFS, or 1d2 if you pick SFS.
PFS Player Boons:
1 - #5: Against the Grain.
2 - #6: Share the Wealth (Equipment)
3 - #7: Seasoned Archivist (Dark Archive) / Taldan Courtier (Sovereign Court)
