This will be the recruitment and discussion thread for PFS # 9-03: On the Border of War, a Pathfinder Society scenario for levels 5-9.
This game will be part of Game Day VII, Session I, and will begin on August 13th.
If you are interested in playing in this game, please post in this thread using the alias for the character you will be playing, and provide the following information:
Forum Name Pendrak
PFS # 75956
Day Job Roll Profession (gamemastering): 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (12) + 41 = 53
Faction Aspis Consortium
XP 228
I require all players to have their character sheet available in their Paizo profile, and their basic statistics available next to their name in their posts.
Preference will be given to players who have played PFS # 5-19: The Horn of Aroden, especially those who played my recent table of that game, but it will otherwise be first come, first served.

Gameplay thread is up, feel free to dot in. We'll be going to Brevoy on August 13th.
The party will consist of:
Dumm, half-elf barbarian 4/ranger 2
Maxime, Taldan paladin 9
Verdan, human wizard 6
Barbo, samsaran wizard 6
Matsu, aasamir samarai 7
Glorne, human kineticist 5
The APL is 6.5, so we will be playing in the 5-6 tier. Matsu and Maxime will be out of subtier.

GM Pendrak |

Actually, now that I'm reading some things someone else brought to my attention in another game I think we might have to play in the 8-9 subtier with 4 player adjustments, if APL 6.5 rounds up to 7.

GM Pendrak |

I played #5-19 with you.
Yep, I remember. I think it may be only you and Maxime who have. Correct me if I'm wrong.

GM Pendrak |

No, I mean she said she played it at another table.

GM Pendrak |

So, we've run into an issue here. Verdan and Matsu signed up for multiple games and are pulling out of this one since they were selected for another. I haven't had a response yet from Dumm. If he still shows up we are good to go, otherwise we need to recruit at least one player to have a full table, or else use a GMPC pregen (which I'll actually probably have one you run in that case).
I could probably find a player pretty quickly to fill the slot (or maybe even three), but I wanted to see what you guys think first.

GM Pendrak |

Okay, I posted in the recruitment thread asking for a few players.

Hello! Hopefully we all survived THE GAP and hopefully the site will stay up.
I'm at a convention today but look forward to jumping back in tomorrow.

GM Pendrak |

Sorry for the delay, I've had some internet issues at home, bad timing with Paizo just getting the forums stable again. Hopefully everyone is still around.

GM Pendrak |

I again apologise for my absence, have had some unfortunate life developments and haven't been able to post. I hope to be able to update tomorrow.

![]() |

GM, hope you're doing alright.
Are we still going to be able to finish by the end of the month? (In time for Session 2?)

GM Pendrak |

Okay, I'm back.
So, long story short I have been homeless the last 10 days. The house my housemate and I had previously rented was purchased and we had to leave with little notice, but we were able to find a place where we were supposed to be able to move in on August 23rd. However, as it got close to the end of the month I was informed that we wouldn't be able to move in until September 10, today. To make it worse we had some internet issues the last few days of the month, so I wasn't really even able to give the warning I'd hoped I could to my players.
It isn't as bad as it sounds, I was able to find friends and family that would let me crash on couches and spare rooms during that time, but I have not had the opportunity to post. That said, today I was able to get moved in to the new place and I finally have an office again. So, I plan on updating the games tonight, and barring any other disasters (which, based on the way this year is going for me, are likely), I should be back to normal.
I'm sorry for any issues I caused. It is unlikely, between my personal issues and the issues with the Paizo forums (why the heck couldn't those two have just coincided...), that we will be able to finish this session before the beginning of part 2 of the convention, especially since as far as I know they aren't making any adjustments to the end time of that. As I understand it, however, we have as much time as we need to finish because of the forum issues.
Anyways, expect updates tonight.

GM Pendrak |

Apologies again for the delay of game. I had a family situation that required me to go out of town unexpectedly. Its been a weird few months but, again, hopefully now we can get back on track.

To save everyone some time/effort:
Confused: A confused creature is mentally befuddled and cannot act normally. A confused creature cannot tell the difference between ally and foe, treating all creatures as enemies. Allies wishing to cast a beneficial spell that requires a touch on a confused creature must succeed on a melee touch attack. If a confused creature is attacked, it attacks the creature that last attacked it until that creature is dead or out of sight.
d% Behavior
01-25 Act normally.
26-50 Do nothing but babble incoherently.
51-75 Deal 1d8 points of damage + Str modifier to self with item in hand.
76-100 Attack nearest creature (for this purpose, a familiar counts as part of the subject's self).
A confused creature who can’t carry out the indicated action does nothing but babble incoherently. Attackers are not at any special advantage when attacking a confused creature. Any confused creature who is attacked automatically attacks its attackers on its next turn, as long as it is still confused when its turn comes. Note that a confused creature will not make attacks of opportunity against anything that it is not already devoted to attacking (either because of its most recent action or because it has just been attacked).
Shaken: A shaken character takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. Shaken is a less severe state of fear than frightened or panicked.
Both cut/paste from Archives of Nethys.

Just checking in and hoping everyone survived Thanksgiving (U.S.), Black Friday and the official beginning of the holiday season.
