Ironically, I initially conceived of Warhawk as a coast guard rescue helicopter rather than military. Would have been much less obvious in Alaska.

Ah, my apologies, the picture you sent was of a military chopper, so I went with that. You can of course re-scan a different form to make fitting in easier.

No, no. I went with the military chopper. But at first I was going to make him more of a medic and have him be one of those rescue choppers. Then the old soldier idea won out.

MDT, quick question - I'm reviewing my vehicle mode and I don't see the GES system I mentioned in his write-up... A goodly amount of ground movement, but nothing in terms of "pull the wheels up, pop the stabilizer fins, and go skating across the water or a relatively narrow chasm."

Did that get skipped in favor of "adding it later"?

I thought I saw it on there on an early version, but I may be mis-remembering.

I think it may have gotten lost when I lost my computer and had to transfer everything over to the backup desktop. I'll play with it soon and get it fixed up.

It's cool if it needs to be a "adapt later" item, as I don't see us needing to make high-speed getaways across the Great Lakes any time soon.

But, then, what do I know? I've been wrong SO MANY TIMES over in the Metahumans game, I shouldn't make any conjectures.

Let's put 2 more into Universal Translator and one into the Ship.

From my 5XP, let's go with 1 point into a Teamwork familiarity, since I have learned my lesson from the Metahumans game, and another 4 into the ship at this time.

That'll give me:

+2 points to UT (should get me a +1)
+1 point to Teamwork (8 or less)
+5 points to Ship

Sound about right?

Communications first, followed by sensors, is my vote.

Communications so that we can spy on radio and television broadcasts, intercept satellite signals, etc. We can get Human media that way, and get a better understanding of their various cultures.

Then, we can up our sensors so that we can get a better picture when/if we move the ship.

As I have no good grasp on how things work, I'll donate my five points to the ship.

My understanding was you were dedicating 3 points minimum to English, thus your ability to read 'Gundam' on the toy store you drove past

I'll take your word for it, man. I have zero comprehension of the HERO system at the moment. I'll put the 3 pts into English, 2 pts into improving the Computer since it's my only ally in spotting the Threat of Unicron.

Note, the above assumes you build an Electronics and Metallurgy foundry in the ship using parts of the ship that are salvaged from offline systems. This requires 5 ship points, which translates to 1 of the donated character points

Apologies to my games. As most if not all of you know, I've been out of work since June 1st, and due to having to get a lawyer involved, it was difficult for me to really hit the pavement for a new job until nearly the end of June. So really I've been very active this month, and all the work earlier in the month is heating up finally. I was swamped this week with phone interviews, in person interviews (2.5 hours from home), and prep work for interviews. Next week is looking busy too. This is all a good thing, but it's left me absolutely exhausted (The whole missing the height on the entrance to the garage right before the interview and banging up my wife's truck cap on the parking garage entrance didn't help either). But things are looking good, I've got 2 really really good jobs and 2-3 other potentials, and the two good ones have asked me for 2nd follow up interviews next week (One 2 weeks after the initial, and the other literally 3-4 hours after the first one, yay!). Anyway, sorry for not being as proactive as I should be to keep the threads up, I'll try to push Sunday (my meat game is tomorrow) to get posts and push things forward.

I know right, I am around 35K but I have slowed down significantly since the end of last fall.

For those who haven't played Champions/HERO combat before, I'm going to be OOC-ing all my actions before I detail them in my post, or at least explaining what I'm going to do on my next action.

Normally that's not necessary, but from other HERO games I've played here on the forums, the combat can sometimes get confusing for new players, so I'm going to help MDT out as best I can.

Skitter, you mostly just talked on your turn. That's not a surprise, given you're in a ship under water, so not much you can do currently, other than try to swim for the surface, but that would take more than the remainder of combat.

that's kind of what I figured. Will DelTor let me pilot the ship?

Skitter isn't sure how to pilot the ship, especially in a combat situation. To pilot the ship, you need Transport Familiarity (Spaceship), and to do so successfully in combat, you need the skill Combat Piloting.

Skitter can operate the sensors, program the ship itself, but operating it in a firefight is beyond him...

FYI : You should all be horribly appalled at Energon Disruption weapons being in use, even primitive ones! Those are something so heinous that not even the Decepticons (who came up with a lovely weapon known as a 'spark extractor') will develop! Megatron would immediately execute anyone working on them, and then blow up the research facility with extreme prejudice!

This is the cybertronian equivalent of biological warfare. Energon disruption weapons on a planet that is full of energon (even in low levels like Cybertron currently is) could start a chain reaction that would detonate the entire planet!

Of course, biologicals on a planet with only artificial energon can find them quite useful when fighting Cybertronians...
