Game Master OberonViking

Starvation looms for the people of the Wolf tribe! The elk have all but disappeared and the risky move of the tribe near the Bear clan territory has proved fruitless.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

I'll head back and get Hrothgar, lead him back to the door and quietly explore the next room searching through the shelves barrels for anything useful.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

HP: 28/39 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF:14 |

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Low light vision only

Hrothgar lets you know that there is something I there that he wants to attack/play with. He moves quietly to a specific point near the barrels.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

I draw my swords and move cautiously over to the barrels to have a closer look...

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

You hear a small scratching sound and see a flash of brown fur darting between the barrels. Hrothgar growls low, and the (regular) rat panics; it runs out, sees the wolf, then aims for the nearest thing it can use to hide - your left leg.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

I'll swipe at it as it runs at me. Not wanting to deal with a rat running up my trousers...

Longsword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

You cut this single rat in half. You've got a bad feeling about this...

Roll initiative

Initiative : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
There is an eruption of whiskers and squeaks and fur and scratching as the floor around you floods with rats from behind all the barrels.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Hrothgar Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Kalenth swipes at the swarm with his swords and lets out a curse under his breath

Longsword : 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Shortsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Longsword 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

Short sword 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

The rats continue to pour out from behind the barrels, their sheer number seem to render your slashing weapon less-useful, though the room is now splattered with hundreds of rat-halves. Yet still they come.

Kalenth and Hrothgar both take 1d6 ⇒ 2 damage from the biting rats. Hence, both need to make Fort saves DC 12 vs

Disease (Ex):
Filth fever: Swarm—injury; save Fort DC 12; onset 1d3 days; frequency 1/day; effect 1d3 Dex damage and 1d3 Con damage; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution-based.

GM tracking :

Rat swarm Dmg: 14

HP: 28/39 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF:14 |

Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Hrothgar bounds about snapping at the rats.

Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Guess you can't trip a swarm... lol

the wolf can trip 1d3 ⇒ 3 rats

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

Great a diseased wolf

Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Kalenth grits his teeth and keeps flailing his swords about.

Longsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Shortsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Longsword 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Shortsword 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

he is looking pale.

Hrothgar leaps into the fray, biting, tearing, clawing, stomping and kicking at the rat swarm. They scatter and hide under the fury of the wolf, and Kalenth once again finds himself with weapons drawn and nothing to hack...

That's 600xp!

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

Should I be keeping track of exp... Should I roll onset for Hrothgars disease or will you?

Kalenth crouches next to Hrothgar. "Good boy!" he says in a hushed voice, ruffling the wolf's head.

Are there any other exits from this room?

I don't know if there is going to be enough xp to level up, though I doubt it will enough. The disease will set in 1d3 ⇒ 1 days. Today is Saturday..
Will you be going back to searching the barrels? What light do you have for Hrothgar? Your potion is still active.

There is a double door to the south, currently closed.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

ah bugger... Light for Hrothgar... That's why I originally left him. Er.

I light a torch and hold it aloft.
I'll do a quick search of the barrels. Then I'll head for the double doors for a listen.

Searching Barrels: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Losten at door: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

EDIT: Wish I'd left the barrels alone.

what's the floor in here? Stone? Dirt? Is there straw or anything?

GM Roll: 1d20 - 3 - 5 ⇒ (15) - 3 - 5 = 7

Stone floor. Lots of dust.

The torch helps you to see that there is nothing of value remaining in the room. Hrothgar appreciates the light.

With your ear on the door you can hear a clattering noise, like kids throwing rocks at a snake in the canyon. You also hear the muttering and cursing of a gnoll (or maybe an Aasimar cursing in the gnoll tongue) between stones clatter.

Hrothgar looks at you expectantly.

Don't forget your FE bonus, I know I haven't.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

I'll place the torch on the floor, draw my Longsword and with my left hand swing the door open.

Dust and particulate matter fly into the air as pieces of rubble and debris fly from the southern hallway. Five feet into the hallway, a dirty gnoll is working on the debris, cursing and muttering as he works.

With the sudden light he pauses in his work, then looks about startled. One eye is wide with surprise, the other almost closed through recent bruising. He stands there paralysed with fear. His mouth opens and closes as though he wants to speak.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

I leap forward drawing my shortsword and aiming a slice with my Longsword at his torso.
Cause I'm a murder hobo (also the wolf tribe children need their cloths...) and I hate Gnolls.

Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26
1d8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

HP: 28/39 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF:14 |

Hrothgar leaps to the attack too

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

With great hatred you hack your longsword through most of his torso. The gnoll slumps noiselessly to the left into a pool of his own blood and urine.

HP: 32/55 | AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 17 | F: +7, R: +6, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +10

Yeah that Gnoll never stood a chance... (I feel a little bad now. Just a smidge). So there are doors to my left and right?

G'ah! I didn't realise this game was waiting on me. I'll post soon this morning.
