I think Kali needs some face time with Sandru so I am having him come with you this time.

Uksahkka meets you at the appointed hour on the
rocky spit outside of town. She brings enough two-person
kayaks to hold all of plus one additional passenger
(Ulf Gormundr).

You all get in the kayaks and she gives you the proper technique on how to use the boat. She puts the paddle into the water pushing it with alongside the hull towards you and pushs away from the vessel and says, "This is a J-stroke, it is helpful to change directions quickly."

Ahiko does her best with the paddle, and is deft enough to learn to use one, and smart enough to quickly memorize the skills necessary. Still, she lacks the strength to put much force into her paddling and hopes that she is paired up with someone stronger than herself when the time comes to actually use the kayaks.

Sandru turns to Lothi and says, "Foul manners and who exactly are you? Most Irriseni I have met keep to themselves because they don't want any unwanted trouble. But you feel you must interject in mine and Kalistrine's conversation... Irriseni orcish whisky is for babies... made from poor ingredients and is only potent because it is ethanol which means they don't know the common practice of throwing the first third away and to age it in casks... but of course. where are my manners?"

The next morning, Ahiko awakens refreshed and reinvogorated. She spends a little time romping with Miso, the fox, playing some tug of war with a length of rope and some fetch, tossing a stick for Miso to chase... then they commune together for a while during rest time, as she absorbs the energy and knowledge to cast her spells for the day.

She collects a plate of breakfast at the fireside and sits eating quietly, sharing her meal with Miso. She listens to the conversations of others curiously, and tilts her head to one side as Sandru chastises the ill-mannered bard they'd met the night before at the tavern. I wonder what he's doing here exactly... did he follow us? Is he a spy for our enemies perhaps? That would be bad if they knew we came from this caravan. He bears watching. Still, she can't help but chuckle softly at the mental image of the fellow dancing with a blue-skinned giantess.
