I'd hate to see this game end. It's also my longest running pbp not only on this board but altogether. As well as the longest running single character I have ever played online or otherwise.
Connor of McIntyre
Yes! We're still here! (Pazio was down this morning? Could not reach the website.)
Connor of McIntyre
How fast does Flick recover? I'm willing to use our only psionic bandages of rapid recovery if it gets Flick up to 100%.
Connor of McIntyre
Ah. Okay. I didn't know if he was down 50 hp or had recovered with normal healing over the boat ride back to town.

Wednesday Update :
GM Waiting on players to decide next steps, players talking it out in game thread. Need decision by weekend if possible.
Looking over the loot list, and what Rory found, what we have is some armor, which some of us might be able to wear, to physically assault the Ruins.
If we do physically assault the Ruins, we're going to need non-psionic weapons. I'm thinking a MW light crossbow for everyone, MW arrows, and some swords and shortspears. Those who can use a bow (Flick) need a bow. Any other thoughts? Masterwork will still work in a null psionics, anti-magic field.
It looks like we send in either someone quick, like Adran, or someone they're not looking for, like Flick, to do the shopping, as well as send a message to the Harpy mayor where the Ruins are, would she send some long-range artillery our way, and then go physically assault the Ruins. Is that a plan?
Adraniel
I don't think there will be anything to assault. It would be pretty dumb if they remained behind knowing a group like us knows where they are and what they do after double crossing them. It would make sense for us to sell them out. As long as their leader isn't a dumby and thinks this way they should be long going looking to relocate.
Connor of McIntyre
Nearly all the enemies we've run across here have been arrogantly superior. I don't think the lizardmen have run from the Ruins at all. If they have, think of the adventure of finding out what's at the bottom of those Ruins!

Friday Update :
Players continue to discuss what to do. GM awaits decision. Players seem to be leaning towards 'Check in with scary Harpy Lady and see if she wants them to go attack ruins and if so can she give people to help please', although there is a strong minority argument for 'try to bypass town and sneak back to employers and give report'.
Adraniel
I'm up for whatever will move the game along. MDT is being gracious and continuing the game and yet the players are not posting. Sorry MDT I enjoy the game but I can't just press the game along and make decisions. I mean I could but others may not enjoy it :)
Connor of McIntyre
I'm still here. I'm playing politics while trying to us some masterwork weapons so we can assault the Ruins.
I'm still willing to play, I don't know what is going one with everybody else.
Yes, Saturday-Monday is tough for me to post.
Adraniel
Looks like it is only the two of us.
Elrohir
Alys last in game post was last Thurs. 'She' seems to have a decent delay between posting.
I'm still here, but as I said, Flick isn't going to be speaking any time soon. And yes, there's a gameplay reason for this.
Adraniel
So it took a couple weeks to get from the beach back to the city?
Connor of McIntyre
Yeah, a couple of weeks. So we won't have the element of surprise. We'll have to do this Black Ops or Special Forces style as we can. Things like low-light vision and such should still work. It's just the psionic powers, constructs, psicrystal, etc. that won't operate in a null psionics field / antimagic field.
Still possible, I think. If we can get mundane supplies like alchemist's fire, tanglefoot bags, masterwork weapons, etc.
mdt
Just a note from the GM. You might want to consider either bypassing the city, sneaking your ship out, or asking for it back from the Harpy.
Between Flick being found, and the weaponization of magical items, you've got a major report for your bosses... (plus you might be able to puzzle out why Flick's not responding).
Adraniel
Yeah it is go to the harpy time. I was fine checking out the ruins if it only been a day or two even though I think them to be empty still. There is no way they would be there still at this point.
Connor of McIntyre
Given the GM's hint...
I'm all for reporting "complete", as in:
1.) found the Ruins
2.) we can give eyewitness accounts of the null psionics field, interior, number of lizardmen, etc.
3.) destroyed one of their major flying ships (singular?)
4.) killed a lot of them (describe the Human to them, they might recognize him)
In any case, being "open" about going into the city and expecting to get summoned is a lot easier than sneaking in/out. Not that we'll go of our own accord (remember the hostility of that advisor). It might be faster to go straight to the Elephant on the docks, to that person that was keeping it for us.
Adraniel
no one said anything about sneaking I'm going strait to the harpy.
Connor of McIntyre
Okay, we're doing a report to Captain Wrathborne! Which I infinitely prefer to the advisor that wanted us all shot (and Rory put into a steel box).
Everybody chime in!
TarkXT
So, I suppose it's time I went ahead and got down in writing what I've been thinking for months.
I'm more or less done with Pathfinder.
I still find it fun but I find it harder and harder to will myself to get involved with it. Write for it, play it, run it, take the time to even look at the forum, whatever.
The truth of the matter is after over a decade of D&D much of which I've been writing I've little to really show for it in terms of gain and little in the way of a future. Add to the fact that I find it hard to dedicate time in my day (between family, work and hobbies) to this and an even greater lack of desire to post in what seems to be an endless and often pointless cycle of debates over a game and it's just wore me out.
So, I'm calling it. I still have an iron gods I play over skype and I'm continuing my 3pp game since that still has me engaged in. I'm sorry to all of you about this and I appreciate you giving me the time. I did have fun and I have one contractual obligation I should fulfill for a book on polearms but from now on I'm dedicating my writing to other things.
So again thank you, sorry, and goodbye.
Monkeygod
Oh man, that makes me really sad Tark. Even though we never really played in a game together, I'm pretty sure we've been in a bunch of the recruitment threads and I always hoped to get to play with you. I also know I applied to at least one game run by you. You just seemed like a good and interesting player/GM.
I hope, in a time, you decide to come back to gaming if such a thing would be good for you. So much of my life and why its been as awesome as it has been is due to gaming, so I hope one day that magic returns for you.
Good luck in all you do, and may the dice always land in your favor.
Connor of McIntyre
I'm sorry to hear you stopping Pathfinder, TarkXT/Rory. I always liked your grizzled "back to reality, folks!" attitude from Rory, and Selvan's path back to self-esteem.
I have had other friends really burn out on Pathfinder, mostly from rules lawyers and evil GM/players harassing them. I don't like the subculture, but I acknowledge it is there.
You can give up the game but don't give up on people, TarkXT.
Good luck to you and thanks for your time you gave us.
mdt
I understand, no hard feelings. If you change your mind, we'll be here.
I will probably fast forward us then tomorrow.
I am swamped at work (12 hours travel sunday, 10 hours at work monday, 9 hours today). I'll try to post in the AM.
Alys
This is coming as a surprise to me as much as it will to you, but I will be hospitalized with little to no internet from tomorrow April 22nd for an amount of time not yet determined. Hopefully only for the weekend but possibly longer. The operation isn't a big thing but I'll have to stay there anyway.
GMPC me as needed.
mdt
Ouch! My condolences!
If things change (most hospitals have wi-fi, my wife was on facebook 24/7 while recovering from brain surgery) and you want back in, just let me know. Otherwise, I'll be looking forward to your return and wishing you best wishes.
Connor of McIntyre
Oh wow, Alys! I'll be praying for you. Hoping the surgery is successful and you have a speedy recovery.
Connor of McIntyre
I'm almost optimistic when I learn we get our ship back. If we can get the Elephant repaired, all I can say is SHOPPING TRIP!
We have a bag of 8,000 gold, as well as the loot before, and a little more. Of course, airship repairs are costly, and then there's healing Flick.
Alys
Thanks!
I'm back home. This hospital didn't have wifi for some reason. But as I said, the surgery wasn't a major thing. I was basically just staying for two days in case of bleeding.
Roderick MacDuncan
Glad to hear everything went well, Alys.
@Rory/Tark: Sad to see you go, but the burnout is a real thing. I wish you the best. Take care!
Edit: As for supplies for Roderick, I wouldn't mind another pistol of the sort I have at some point. I seem to recall those being fairly expensive though... Also maybe some alchemical gear so I can make some alchemist's acid/tanglefoot/antitoxin/antiplague/etc.
Connor of McIntyre
I'm glad your surgery went well, Alys.
On selling stuff, given that we'll get a better deal on trade goods: didn't we have some furniture on the Elephant?
mdt
Actually, you'll get a *worse* deal. Trade goods are currently selling at 5% to 30% below market value. You misread the comment. So, selling furniture, if you had 1000GP worth, would only sell for 700GP to 950GP.
Weapons and Armor are selling above rate currently, for some odd reason. :)
Connor of McIntyre
Yeah, flip-flop what I said. Ok, so trade goods, clothing, and jewelry are going to be lower.
FROM THE LIZARDMEN SMUGGLERS:
8,000 gp /6 (crew) = 1,333.33 gp, or /7 (with Flick) = 1,142.85 gp each
Two floating lifeboats to put onboard the Elephant.
From the destroyed ship:
1) Breastplate Armor 200 gp SELL
2) Half-plate Armor 600 gp SELL
3) Spyglass 1,000 gp Connor
4) Falchion 75 gp SELL
5) Splint mail Armor 200 gp SELL
6) Mace, light 5 gp Connor
7) Kukri 8 gp SELL
8) Sledge 1 gp Keep?
9) Guitar, common 5 gp SELL
10) Shuriken (5) 1 gp SELL
11) Power stone of Energy Cone (Sonic) 375gp Kineticist Only - SELL
12) Power stone of Call to Mind 25gp Connor
13) Power stone of Sharpened Edge 375gp Elara
14) Power stone of Mindhunter 375gp Connor?
15) Dorje of Dimension Swap (12 charges) 1080gp Alys
16) Power stone of Claws of the Beast 25gp Elara
Gems and Jewels
Red spinel 98gp, Alexandrite 108gp, Star rose quartz 41gp, Freshwater (irregular) pearl 1gp, Turquoise 2gp, Rhodochrosite 4gp, Obsidian 3gp, Rhodochrosite 1gp, Tigereye 2gp Connor for all!
Coins Breakdown
pp: 6
gp: 75
sp: 250
cp: 420
A) A masterwork set of torturer's tools. SELL
B) Dorje of Natural Healing (37 charges) SELL if no one has this on their psionic power list, the rules are very specific
C) Dorje of Body Adjustment (8 charges) Connor has this power, it's self-only, so keep?
D) A masterwork healer's kit (full) Connor
E) A masterwork healer's kit (half full) Connor
From the beach assault:
3 double barrel shotguns (breach load) Roderick?
18 rounds of Shotgun Shells Roderick?
9 MW short spears SELL
48 gold coins
14 silver coins
32 copper coins
---------------------------
Additional coins = 704.2 + 49.72 = 753.92 / 6 = 125.65 or /7 = 107.70 gp each
With 8,000 gp above = 1,333.33 gp + divide only later loot with Flick means + 107.70 gp = 1,441.03 for crew of 6, 107.70 for Flick.
Before I add all the SELL items above, any discussion?
Adraniel
Yeah I think selling the weapons and armor is the right thing to do since they are going at a higher rate. I don't think we should really by anything here. Unless trade goods are selling for a cheaper rate as well, but I doubt they are.
Connor of McIntyre
Connor literally has less than 20 gp's worth of crafting material. Even at heightened prices, he's gotta have enough to make a power stone or tattoo or three. Downtime's going to be mighty boring without crafting.
Adraniel
Or it just passes as normal and MDT gets to keep the game moving.
Connor of McIntyre
Go back to the ship, or shop on the way?
Connor of McIntyre
From the SELL list:
5,688gp 9sp for all
1,441.03 for crew of 6 + 5,688.9 /crew of 6 = 1,441.03 + 998.15 = 2,439.18 gp for crew
107.70 for Flick + 998.15 = 1,105.85 gp for Flick
And I'm sure Connor will help with any doctor's bills for Flick.
