Having defeated the Tesharat the old red dragon and stuffed your pockets full of unimaginable wealth you head deeper into the mountain to confront the masters of the Anvil of Fire.

That's a recovery from Khel and 3 from Doug due to my bad rolling to get people into fighting shape.

Pushing forward through dozens of giants of the united hill, stone, fire and frost clans is tiring and bloody work, but work you are well equipped for.

As you kick down what turns out to be the final door you see the King and Queen seated across the room.

King Tyarian looks old, but though as he cracks a smile and says "I've been expecting you... Get them!"

Three orcs fall immediately from the sword's cutting, but the fourth manages to dodge the worst of it.

Queen Quvxia wastes no time as she hops onto the long stone dining table and throws forked lightning at the party.

90 damage! After the tempHP and Orcs Hrarsk was at 49, after Beth's heal for 30 79, so by my math the Firegiant drops him to -11 baring any shenanigans.

Additionally, if that weren't bad enough Hrarsk is now also on fire.
10 ongoing fire damage, while engaged with the King you get -5 on that save. (At least you can't be engaged while unconscious)

The king does at least look slightly winded from his sudden charges across the room, he likely won't be able to do that again for a bit.

Hey DM, I'm kinda confused about the wraiths' HP. First Khel hit white for a bunch of damage. Then I did 40 damage to black, and I think Hrarsk did 36*2(holy)=72 to one and 36/2(resist)=18 to the other... right? Or am I mathing incorrectly and/or missing something?

Wraith Math:

Khel hits white for (46/2) 23 + 36/2 (18) reduces the wraith from 88 to 37.

Hrarsk attacked the orcs and the wraith but forgot to roll the separate attack for the wraith and does so in a later post, with a 12 his 36 damage is halved to 18 and the white wraith 37 is reduced to 19.

Beth slish-slashes the black wraith with an 18 for 40 damage reducing it to 48/88.

Khel then gets a 7, doing (46/2) 23 damage and finishing off the white wraith.

Khel's other 2 attacks finish off the orcs.

Thanks for asking, it's super easy for me to get things horribly wrong. Short answer is white got removed from the map, but not initiative, and blacks HPs reads correct to me. Please advise if I've missed something.

Damage: 7d10 + 10 + 2d10 ⇒ (8, 7, 6, 2, 4, 9, 4) + 10 + (8, 2) = 60

Combat Boon: Doug gets a free save.
And I just realized that everyone else should have 10 more temporary hit points, since the spell I cast gives 40, not 30, as a level 7 spell.

but dodges it as she blasts, weakening the Queen and wounding the wraith.

Hrarsk gives Doug a combat boon as he finally finishes off the troublesome wraith.

Hrarsk heals Doug, empowers his weapon and hits the King with his sword, finally staggering the King, but also giving him a second wind.

The Queen finally draws her greatsword, which immediately bursts into flame as she hacks at Bethany twice.

Actually, I just noticed that Doug recharged his belt of resurgence after the last fight, so he should've automatically used a recovery when he was knocked unconscious last turn.

That might also have changed Hrarsk's healing choice...
