Bethany Filnamorth |

Hmm, if Bethany were some other character, I could totally see her waking up and whining that now she has to climb all the way back up there again!
Don't worry. She's grateful. :)
(And in fact, she doesn't have to climb all the way back up there again.)

Fortuna Peccata |

Feeling like a mouse running around the paws of a giant cat, Fortuna scurries over to Hrarsk and pours one of the cleric's healing potions down his throat.
Not sure what those are worth, recovery-wise. I think both Hrarsk and Bethany took a couple of the potions from the last room. If Hrarsk doesn't have one, apply the action to Bethany. No magic missile this round :(

Fortuna Peccata |

I thought you guys split the pudding potions. Fortuna would apply one to Bethany, then, since Hrarsk doesn't have epic potions - need to get a healer on their feet!

Pirate GM |

Khel blinks up, crits the The Storm Tyrant not once, not twice, not thrice but four times and blinks back down, all while making the time to grab Bethany.
Fortuna raids her fallen companions for loot and feeds Bethany a potion full of black pudding. Tasty Pudding.
Hrarsk Death Save: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Doug uses his final smite as he tries to finish off the Dragon.
Smite: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 14 + 2 + 5 + 4 = 34
Going to add vicious this time to help make sure the dragon drops.
damage: 8d8 + 18 + 4d12 + 2d10 ⇒ (1, 7, 8, 2, 1, 4, 4, 5) + 18 + (2, 9, 2, 4) + (3, 9) = 79
The dragon falls! you see it's body slowly shrink into the distance as it falls out of sight.
Now free from the Dragon Doug casts Cure on Hrarsk
Hrarsk: Heal using 2 free recoveries.
Doug then flies to near The Storm Tyrant
"For Aroden! shouts Doug.

Resist fire 16+: When a fire attack targets this creature, the attacker must roll a natural 16+ on the attack roll or it only deals half damage
The Storm Tyrant

Probably something special.

Bethany Filnamorth |

Bethany, having spent some time trying to gather inspiration from her surroundings, lashes out at the Storm Tyrant with a verbal assault the likes of which he's never heard.
"Giant tyrant in the sky,"
"Die die die,"
"Die die die."
Arrow of Verse.

Pirate GM |

The Storm Tyrant roars out in pain as Bethany's arrow adds insult to injury.
With his wounds building up The Storm Tyrant decides to go about ending your lives in a systematic way and moves forward to slice Doug from the air.
Truly enormous greatsword: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25
With the sky having almost completely gone dark thunder and lightning booms through the sky, as The Storm Tyrant releases the Thunder, causing a visible soundwave to emanate from him.
Doug's shining helmet seems to keep him safe though.
The Storm Tyrant has a very nasty On Miss effect with this much building thunder, but Doug's Helm of Fortunate Dodging will dodge that.
lightning bolt: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (20) + 21 = 41
damage x10: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8
Ow.
The lightning bolt however connects directly with Doug's helmet, striking the paladin dead.
I managed to get through all 4 of his LoH, use his 7th level cleric spell, and both his defensive items and all of his smites. Doug gave everything he had to give.

I have no healing and almost no abilities left, but with 3 people standing I think we can manage to get enough hits in to win. Try to win before he misses!
Hrarsk rises with the help of Doug's last prayers. He stands up, and he manages to run to the Storm Tyrant and deal him a blow with his axe.
+1 to hit Storm Tyrant

Khellirin |

Beth - I can't do the same trick as before, since Terrain Stunt is once per battle. If I get an extra standard action I could turn it into a move action and try to get you out, but then I'm giving up chances to hit and crit the baddo. Think I'm just going to risk it. For Dougie!
Khel sees Doug fall and decides that, once again, he needs to get close to the massive storm giant. This time, he's going to smash it once and for all! He takes another step, arriving like lightning at the tyrant's side, his hammers swinging!
The first strike manages to break the giant's kneecap, and the second smashes his toes, bringing the massive figure to his knees! Khellirin is just able to reach up to bring his hammer down on the giant's temple! The giant shakes his head in puzzled wonderment for an instant before the light goes out of his eyes and he crashes heavily to the stone.

Hrarsk is able to climb up the giant's tower and get his blow in
Khel once again blinks, appearing next to the giant and cutting him down with a flurry of blow.
As The Storm Tyrant falls his massive body hits the tower like a lightning bolt causing all the remaining thunder to release in one final explosion.

Congratulations! You've completed the entirety of the Giantslayer AP in pbp. A rare achievement that you should be quite proud of yourselves for.
I'll get chronicle sheets and such out within the next day or 2. I also seem to have never actually given out the chronicle sheets for 5 and will fix that ASAP.

Bethany Filnamorth |

As Bethany comes to, the events of the last few minutes come flooding in on her, and she leans heavily back against the castle wall with a sigh. Raising her mug in a last salute, she rumbles, "To Doug. A valiant hero who'll be remembered in tales and ballads for years to come."
So saying, she takes a deep draught, and then holds out her mug solemnly to the others.

Fortuna Peccata |

Fortuna takes the mug from Bethany and raise it. "A worthy end for a worthy servant of Aroden. He will be missed, but he died in glory." She takes a swig and passes it on, wiping her mouth on her singed and frayed sleeve.
