Doug takes down a rager who retaliates with one last standing swing.

AC vs Doug: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
but misses.

Khel's first blow is a crit and crushes the skull of the chieftain.

While his second swing is merely a glancing blow on a nearby Rager.
IIRC you have something that makes the miss 10 instead of 5?

Fortuna is up!
There are 3 mooks remaining, a smallish red dragon with most of its hit points that's going to breathe again soon, a staggered Orc Chieftain and a far away, unwounded stone giant tossing masonry.

From the 5th level lightning feat, the chieftain and the champion continue to sizzle and fry this turn for 10 points, since both were hit on a natural even. One of them is a corpse, but I like to picture him as continuing to fry.

Fortuna raises her wand, stamps her foot, and a smoky, flaming ball detonates in the midst of the fray, leaving her friends unscathed via the power of maaaaagic.

"I'm sorry, I can't kill the big guy but I can get these guys off us," Fortuna yells back to Doug, "Scatter; Big Grey can't hit us all at the same time with a rock. I can't believe Javelin Jerk is still standing! Can anyone help Hrask?"

Getting these mooks out of the way so you guys can focus that magnificent damage on the two bad guys that will be left soon. We're toast pinned down by these rager mooks. Help us, Bethany, you're our only hope!

Hmm, interesting... hey DM, do mooks count as one target or multiple for multi-target spells?

Oh, good question.

Tomb

AoE effects are quite good vs mooks, you can target each of them and damage comes out of the pool multiple times. So that's 147 damage to the mooks... Lets be nice and put that last roll on the chieftain to finish him off to since I'm feeling nice.

Despite their grievous wounds the orc ragers do take their final attacks before falling.

Seeing all this fire and lightning the Giant tosses some masonry at Fortuna

Couple other rules notes that might be of interest.

If one of your allies is unconscious and you don’t have magic to heal them, you can still stabilize them to keep them from dying. Get next to them and make a DC 10 healing skill check using Wisdom as a standard action. Failure wastes your standard action, but doesn’t hurt your friend. Success stabilizes your ally. If your stabilization check is 25+, you treat their wounds so quickly that it only takes a quick action; you can use your standard action normally that turn.

Also...

If you perform an action that requires a recovery but have none left, you get half the healing you would otherwise get and take a –1 penalty to all defenses and attack rolls until your next full heal-up. This penalty stacks for each recovery used that you don’t possess.

As flames sweep across Fortuna, her body feels the heat and burning and falls. But inside, her mind, with its thread of magic, knows that she comprehends the very nature of flame in order to wield it. That deep knowledge steadies her failing bodily functions and rallies her resources to shake off the effects.

She rises to her feet, staggering slightly.

Before Khel does his thing and runs in and get knocked unconscious: is it time to Retreat? Live to fight another day? Or go out in a blaze of glory? I'm okay with either approach, just don't want to commit the party to a particular pat without a wee bit of input.

When a spell specifies an enemy with "xxx hp or fewer", does that refer to the starting hp or can it be the current hp? My gut says starting because that's how tough a critter is, but I can see some rationale for going with current.
