Ant-Man and the Wasp is really good!

Yep, saw it Saturday. Cap - texting you...

So I've heard! Just haven't had a good time to go watch it. Maybe this coming weekend.

I had a rain day and gift card from the theater, so everything just kinda lined up. :-)

Is it the weekend yet?

Damn!

Yeah, somehow it's only Tuesday. I don't understand.

Today is like Monday ate Tuesday and fissioned off a second crappy day at the start of the same week. ;)

Unfortunately my days have been spent miles from anywhere that's heard of cell phones, much less has a signal.

The weekend...Friday is nothing. I probably have to work at 11pm or midnight Friday night. Zelda has to work until at least 6pm that day herself. Aiymi is still in recovery mode (she was able to drive yesterday for the first time since the TIA!)

Saturday...get on the road about 7am. Get lunch at The Grumpy Troll. If Cap is up to it (and he informs The General), hang out with him and family for the afternoon, then pick up Zelda's eldest at the bus station and bring her home.

If it's not too personal to ask, what is a TIA?

We're off this weekend, unless I can talk one of the guys into running DC Heroes. The whole group won't be present which usually keeps him from running anything. I guess we'll see.

Transient Ischemic Attack. Think of it as a mini-stroke. It leaves no tissue damage that can be seen in a CT or MRI scan. You don't really know it's happening until it's too late. It frequently leaves some of the symptoms that are the result of a stroke - language issues, can't remember how to do certain daily life things (my father-in-law had to reteach himself how to shave - after his first TIA he felt fine in all ways until he picked up his razor and suddenly realized he had no idea what to do with it), weakness on one side of your body, memory issues, etc.

In and of themselves, they are far less deadly than an actual stroke, but they mean two things: You are a great candidate for having a full stroke, and now it's even easier for you to have one.

In Aiymi's case, she had weakness on her entire right half of her body, dizziness issues from visual stimulation (any camera spinning, the blur of road cones as you drive through a construction zone, tracking a finger with just her eyes, etc), and lost about 10-15 days worth of memory (roughly the first two weeks of July are gone for her). She has not lost the ability to process anything though, and she hasn't lost anything procedural (how to tie shoes, shave, use Excel, etc), so all in all she's gotten lucky.

Oh my goodness! I'm glad that she's going to be ok!

I did tell her, this morning in fact!

We should be good to go. :-)

WOO! See you Saturday.

Well, it's the weekend. What's shakin', everyone? I'm either running a PF sidequest this weekend for some of my players (others can't make it for various reasons) or I'm going to get to be a player in a DC Heroes game. The latter depends on whether or not the GM for that can put something together.

It's not our normal weekend to play but I won't be able to run anything for the next 3 weeks so the ones who could make it this weekend really wanted to do something. So, one way or the other I'll be gaming.

Nothing. There's no Game Day this Saturday, and the local game isn't until next week.

Three of my players are from Memphis, TN (about 2.5 hours from here) and every 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month they are obligated to play in the long running gaming organization called F.O.R.G.E. over there. One of the guys is the vice president this year and was president last year so he really is obligated to be there. Another of my player's husband works away from home in construction and they only get to see each other every 2 or 3 weeks anyway, and this is their stay at home weekend. Which is why I decided that if I GM I'll run a minor side quest just so we'll have something to do.

Last session of Iron Gods before my GMing hiatus ends and we go back to Savage Tide next weekened.

I'm also on vacation all next week, so I have a handful of various things I'd like to try and get some work done on in that time. ... Provided I don't just burn it all playing Dwarf Fortress.

I am spending my weekend seething.

Uh oh...what's wrong?

Someone stole his bike. Cut two locks to do it.

Oh no.. that's awful.

Working tonight, errands + scenario prep + chores tomorrow, and then a PFS game with the local lodge on Sunday :D

*edit* That sucks about the bike :(

Driving to Milwaukee after work.

Have a wedding to go to. Hrm.

No gaming this weekend or at all until the 25th. Too many people have other obligations in the upcoming days. On the bright side, my GF is coming down for the weekend and we're planning on trying a couple of new restaurants in town (I love trying new and different types of food. And it shows).

My Thursday night Fate game didn't run this week, as the GM wasn't feeling well. I suggested that the rest of us get together to playtest a Spirit of '77 adventure I'm writing, but not everyone was into that, so we just called it off this week.

My wife and I are going out to our favorite Mexican place for dinner tonight. (Their bartender makes the best margaritas in town.)

My wife, daughter, and I are going to a friend's place for dinner on Saturday. If weather permits, I'm heading over two hours early for some rifle practice on his private range.

My wife just got a new client assignment, and is flying to San Diego on Sunday. She'll be there all week as she gets the feel of their facility and looks at some of their system code. (She's an IT systems consultant.)

I'm going to a Board of Zoninng Appeals meeting Monday to speak against a proposed variance to allow commercial use of a property three doors down from my house.

My daughter has her driving road test Tuesday afternoon, so I'm taking a half-day off work to take her to the DMV. I also have a housepainter coming over that afternoon to give us an estimate on some work we need done that's beyond my capabilities.

I'm joing a new gaming group on Wednesday: We'll be trying out the Pathfinder Playtest! I've only played with one of the gamers in that group before, but I trust his judgement. This will also be the first time since I was in college that I'll be in two separate weekly games!

Wow, you've got a full weekend planned and then some!

No gaming here either, our host and her husband/my brother are going to be out of the house during the gaming hours doing something for/with the older of their two daughters. Since our group operates by a rule of "one person missing okay, two people missing cancel game", that means a no-go, even if it wasn't the person who hosted our MapTool server.

I'll be going to a yard sale earlier in the day and trying to get rid of some of the piled-up old toys and games in our garage from the days of my youth. Some kid(s) out there are about to get lucky with their parents getting access to a load of Pokemon, Ninja Turtles, Godzilla, Star Wars, and a bunch of other stuff toys for remarkably cheap (I'm pricing them at 10-25 cents apiece, depending on size and wear). I'm hoping to go home with 20-30 bucks, maybe a tad more if I sell everything.

It's not a particularly busy week, honestly!

Oh, and I forgot: I work at a University, and students return to campus next week! My operation has to seriously ramp up for onslaught, and I'll probably be in the office 50+ hours next week. (I'm salaried, so no overtime pay.)

Whoo hoo! The weekend!!

It's another weekend with no gaming in sight for me. Hopefully we'll get back on track next Saturday. And if all goes well I'll get to be a player for a night. I'm hoping to introduce a new character into our DC Heroes game.

So what about the rest of us? Who's got a date with some hot polyhedrals? Or is it a weekend of domesticity?

Doing some work for friends to avoid seething too much.

Nothing special planned for this weekend, aside from doing laundry.

Why are you seething? I mean, I have my reasons for seething, but is there anything we can do?

Someone stole his bike, a couple weeks ago. He's still quite pissed. Hell, so would I.

Have some big bills coming up so not much, except hiding from my birthday which is at some point in the next few days.

Oh, that's right. I had forgotten about the bike. My son has had 2 bikes stolen from him in the past. It took him a long time to get past that.

I thoroughly enjoy celebrating my birthday. I still make wish lists and I'll be 55 this year.

I have the worst birthdays, usually.

I've been searched, arrested, bit, hunted, and set on fire.

And those were my good birthdays.

those birthdays sound kickass.

I agree with Freehold, those are the threads from which legends are woven.

Weave away then.

You know I spend enough time talking about my s~+~ty birthdays i should tell about the good ones.

That time I set my arm on fire, went to Walmart at 2 am, and learned you're never too drunk to get in a nightclub as long as someone is willing to momentarily prop you up.

The summer of my 21st birthday was a magical time, the General (my future wife) and her best friend lived off of State street across the street from Amy's Cafe (a legendary bar, no longer open) but they spent the last three weeks of summer in Southern California so they missed my birthday, however the General sent a hemp bracelet she weaved as my birthday present which arrived on my birthday.

So I wake up, go to the DMV to get my license with the blue background to signify my drinking age status and I get home and my mom says "I know it's your 21st birthday but if you come home drunk you're kicked out of the house". So I went out and bought a tent and extension cord (for the boombox) and then a couple of other friends stopped by and we went to the neighborhood market and bought a bunch of rum and coke and the neighbors let us use their fire pit, which I dropped the hemp necklace into accidentally so I reached in quick and grabbed it, and was about to congratulate myself when my friend Katie said "Um, Rasta, your arm is on fire!" sure enough, my flannel shirt had caught fire, so I did the only drunkenly sensible thing to do, I said "Cool!" had someone try to get a picture of it and then threw the shirt into the bushes. But the bracelet was unscathed and I somehow escaped without any burns, despite wearing a flaming shirt for at least a minute.

But, it doesn't end there! Immediately afterwards I accidentally broke my dad's favorite lawn chair, which I didn't want him to know about, so we found someone to give us a ride to Walmart (which was open 24/7 at the time) at 2 am so we could get an exact replacement. Of course getting an exact anything after drinking a bottle of rum is a futile effort at best, so he ended up with one that was both completely different in design and color (his was white, we went with green).

It was then my friend helpfully pointed out "The party doesn't end until you sober up!"

So the next day, we decided to go to a night club and I got distracted talking to girls at the entrance and they got in before me, this being Madison they had to pat you down for weapons before allowing you in the club, so every time the bouncer would tell me to raise my arms I'd start to fall over backwards and the bouncer was like "dude, if you can't raise your arms you can't get in, so this guy behind me helpfully holds me up with his finger.

When I was arrested!

My friend Chad and I had a double date with these two girls, so of course, we took them out driving around the country in Chad's new mustang. So we get to the General's hometown which has a big two blocks long park where all the teenagers hang out and one of the Luke's (every three kids in this town were named Luke) says "dude, you should drive through the park!" so, we did, as we were blasting through the grass someone breaks from the crowd and runs toward the car with a flashlight and one the girls says "I think that's a cop!" sure enough it was a cop, and we apparently ran over his foot when he tried to stop us, so Chad stops and the cops pull everyone from the car and the one cop asks me to spread my legs so I do and he says "I see you've done this before!" to which I say "I watched a lot of TV!" and then as I'm getting cuffed I see the General with all her friends and her new boyfriend so I yell out "Hi! General!"

The best part, through the combination of my mom being the town reporter and friends with the current police chief and my friend Chad's dad being the previous police chief (who sadly died of cancer before I knew him) the paperwork for the arrest was "lost" before our court date, which only increased our outlaw status with the ladies.

That is AWESOME!

So who's got something going this weekend? I'm either playing DC Heroes or GMing Pathfinder. I'm still waiting on my player who's offering to run DC to make up his mind whether or not he's got a game ready (his mother in law passed away last weekend and things have been pretty tough for him and his family this week).

So it turns out I'm running our homebrew Pathfinder tomorrow night. The guy who was going to run DC decided he was just too drained from the past week, which is understandable if you read my previous post.

So once more unto the breach!
