More than 5' ?

Advice

Is there any way to make a 5' step more than 5'?

Liberty's Edge

The Outslug Sprint feat changes your 5' steps into 10' steps.

There are other abilities that allow you to make multiple 5' steps or move five or more feet without taking AoOs that aren't officially "5' steps".

That is what I'm looking for, but dam that is feat intensive!

What other methods are there? I'm open to anything but I'm trying to make a 5' step into a 10' step, or perhaps being able to move 10' and not have ruin a full attack action.

What you are asking for is not a trivial boost in tatical capability, so yeah, it should be expensive.

which ability are you trying to trigger by moving more than 5ft?

Take four levels of Magus, activate spell combat and cast Bladed Dash. Use Pearls of Power to recharge as necessary.

jaunt boots are a partial solution. Move up to 15' as a 5' step 3 times per day.

There are many ways to pounce, which gets you movement & a full attack. An unchained monk's flying kick works too. A bunch of teamwork feats add a little movement ability if you could work with someone else, and if there's a spellcaster in the party who might help, casting a spell to move you generally has no effect on your own actions. Step Up/Following Step is situational but will do what you want sometimes. Lunge will work too though you don't move, just your reach with the weapon.

What sort of start level are you looking at here?

The 3.5 equivalent is a DC 40 Tumble check. It's going to be intensive to be able to do something like doubling your "free movement" and still be able to full attack.

I really wish the Jaunt boots were more coherently written. It's a very reasonable interpretation that it takes a Standard action to activate them "on command" which makes them useless without a home game GM clarifying. :(

Unfortunately, jaunt boots were errata'ed to require a move action (to move 15' without provoking) instead of a 5' step.

So they were. Looks like Archives of Nethys hasn't been updated to reflect that errata. Always check the PRD :)

If 3pp are allowed and you have natural reach > 5', there is the Big Step monster feat from RGG. But you might come to regret putting the idea of using it (for actual monsters) into the GM's head.

I'm trying to activate the scout ability Skirmisher and still have a full attack.

is there a place to look up pre erata gear? i know paizo has nerfed alot of items many of which were used a lot by martials but when i informed by dm about it my dm said screw that martials get to have nice things in my game so we are using the pre erata versions of the equipment

Note that various forms of pounce would potentially grant you sneak attack on ALL attacks via Scout's Charge.

That said, Outslug Sprint actually wouldn't work because Skirmisher requires that you move more than 10 feet before attacking. Some options allowing this to be done semi-consistently would be; Kirin Path, Tiger Pounce, and Unfolding Wind Rush. Also, the Mobile Fighter and Qadira Dawnflower Dervish Fighter gain a move+full attack ability at 11th level.

Of course, if you have a mount then you can do this automatically with ranged attacks (i.e. the mount moves you while you shoot people).

With my current build I have one feat at best to devote towards this. I'm really hoping that this effect can be completed by a magical item.

Thank you all for the incredible answers thus far. Once again a thread had proven that this message board is the right place for through and creative answers.

Hmmmm... assuming ranged attacks from a mount (magical or mundane) are out;

Quarterstaff of Vaulting would work against an opponent of at least Large size and at most one size category larger than the character.

Everything else I can think of would be even more situational / limited (e.g. Quick Runner's Shirt... once per day).

I just saw this because I though the idea of mounted scout sound cool.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/rogue/archetypes/paizo---rogue -archetypes/scout

according to this the 8th level ability never works with fully attack. Well only the 1st attack will get sneak attack. I remember it used to work. Because I had a guy that did mobile fighter/rouge multi class to get it off at very high level. Anyone know when this was FAQ to a change or errated out?

As mentioned I could use a mount, but I'm looking for something that could work in any environment.

That is correct, Skirmisher only works with the first attack, but having Shatter Defenses (and everything leading up to it as a non lethal UA combatant) let's me utilize the remaining attacks.

Just how would the Quick Runners Shirt work for this? It reads that after you get a second move action you forfeit any remaining actions.

the quick runner shirts does not work any more since they nerfed them in errata for the 2nd printing of ultimate eq. It would have worked before 1st printing of ultimate eq. the Quick runner shirt was swift action move up to your movement once per day. they nerfed bat the crap out of it because they where so cheap people where buying 4 or 5 of them. and changing them out after use. So they added the have to wear it for 24 hr bit to it also to make sure it was virtual unusable expect for running away in combat 1 time per day.

Shatter defenses is kind of a hard thing to pull off also, 1st you have to intimidate, then hit again, then they are flat footed for your last attacks and Aoo's after the fact. easiest thing to do is just get wand of improved invisibility. This is why people tend not to like rogues and say they suck, because getting sneak attack on all attacks is a pain in the butt.

I actual don't like the scout archtype i think it a trap archtype, for melee build. Even more so now that it only works on the 1st attack from the 8th level ability.

Mounted was decent easy fix I had not though about, with a bow. Bow still probably is the best option for this archtype, if you get magic item sniper goggles with it you can keep out combat get full attack and get sneak attack on the 1st shot after 8th level.

We had a guy that was doing two weapon fighting rouge and was this archtype, he was getting killed left and right, because of this archtype. because rouges already have a bad ac due to limited armor selection. Then when you add in charging to get sneak attack damage it's now even lower. eventual more creatures you fight are going to have reach, so you are going to get pounded by Aoo's also. Rogue don't get a lot of hp. So you are constantly putting your self in harms way, to try and get sneak attack damage. Also the creature you are fighting is not actually flatfooted so they still get their dex to ac. when you attack them you just get to treat as if they where for damage.

Flanking with someone else and improved invisibility are the only reliable ways of getting sneak attack damage, and a full attack.

if you can't tell Paizo does not want you getting full attacks sneak attacks with out heavy feats or dangerous abilities or expensive investments. I wish ya luck.

You can have a mount in nearly all environments if you play a Halfling or other small character with something like a riding dog. That's generally the best way to go if you want to do full attacks (ranged) AND movement without pounce.

I've never found this difficult. If you can't get a member of your party to be a 'flanking buddy' for some reason then the easiest way is anything which lets you see the enemy without them seeing you. Improved Invisibility is only one of MANY ways of achieving that. I'm fond of cheap items like the Fan of Autumn or Eversmoking Bottle (plus a Goz Mask, Flame Dancer bard, or some other means of seeing through smoke/fog). Plain old darkness works too except that Darkvision is fairly common... so upgrade to Deeper Darkness and get the See in Darkness ability. Or just cast the Tiny Hut spell. Et cetera. TONS of options.

get a familiar and use it to flank with. It's been clarified that total defending still works to help create flanks. So have it move and total defend to not die, and then you kill everything .

weretiger would net you pounce ability but your dm has to allow templates
