Pathfinder File for Spellbook Master

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hi everyone,

i searched the boards for this, but I could not find anything about it, so i hope this has not been discussed anywhere else yet. Also new to the boards, (first post, yai! ;)), so I hope i got the right category.

What this is all about: I loved using the Spellbook Master App (http://petteri.kamppuri.fidisk.fi/spellbookmaster/) by Petteri Kamppuri with my D&D games as a player. Now I am gamemastering my first own Pathfinder campaign and having a file with the Pathfinder spell lists for this awesome programm would be very helpful. As you can edit the files all by yourself i would like to ask the community if anyone has yet created one and if he is willing to share it.

If not, we (my gaming group that is) will do it and share it, when we are done.

Greetings from Germany (and big, big thumbs up for all the effort to the Paizo crew - way to go!)
Tim

I'll second a request for this, if anyone would oblige. I've been looking at the spellbook master app for a while, but I don't have a Mac, so the spellbook creation software won't run for me.

If anyone knows of a way to get PF spell lists into this app without using a Mac locally, I'd really appreciate the heads up.

That's a nice little app. I just downloaded it, and I'll have to play around with it when I get some time.

We added quite a load of pathfinder spells into this thing yet. not everything, but ranger and paladin are done completely, some sor/wiz spells and and druid to level 4.

someone interested? if you are, give me your mailadress and i will automatically send further updates. :)

I'm very much interested! emondf (at) hotmail.com

I actually use spellforge, and it works perfectly. And I've done a lot of updates to make it PF friendly. Slowly but surely. I use it in conjunction with Heroforge. (Now PFforge for me).

First file is on the way to you, more updates to come. :)

I just got an email from the developer of Spellbook Master, and he's adding Pathfinder support, including spell downloads from the Pathfinder SRD. Just so people know. It's not in the 2.2 version, but should be in version 2.3.

This sounds like a really handy program! When is the pathfinder version (2.3?) coming out

Awesome to see some well-developed character management apps designed natively for Mac. I'd love to see a character generator, though, on top of just spell management, but this looks like a handy program even without full character support.

I am interested both for myself and the other GM's in our gaming group. My email is my board name (at) hotmail(dot)com.

I'm also interested my email is ra_gnostic at yahoo. Anyone know of a character sheet for the iphone?

File sent. Sorry it took me so long. Looking forward to the official support. We will help the coder as good as we can to get a semi-official file up. :)

It's really, really handy to have an iPod touch or iPhone with this little app on the gaming table speeds things up a lot!

You guys can download the new version here:

http://petteri.kamppuri.fidisk.fi/spellbookmaster/SpellbookMaster-2.3b1.zip

It now has a "Download Pathfinder Reference" Feature.

Have fun and thanks to the programmer!

Hi everybody!

It's been a while, but now I have SpellbookMaster 2.3 beta 2 available. In addition to importing Pathfinder refrence it can now import Pathfinder spells from text files. Just drag a text file containing Pathfinder spells to a spellbook document window to import spells.

Please use the format shown in this file for the spell files. SpellbookMaster can only import spells if they're formatted correctly.

Download the Mac application from here

http://petteri.kamppuri.fidisk.fi/spellbookmaster/SpellbookMaster-2.3b2.zip

I don't have a mac or access to a mac I however have an iPhone. How can I get the pathfinder spell list imported? Has anyone uploaded the lust in a text based format to a site? This would be extremely helpful in my pathfinder game on Tuesdays.

Hi!

The iPhone version doesn't support Pathfinder spells yet, but I'm working on an update that will add that capability. Anyone willing to beta test the new app can email me.

How can I go about contacting you? I already have purchased the iPhone app. Very interested in helping move the iPhone app along.

My email address is petteri.kamppuri@fimug.fi. Anyone interested in beta testing can email me.

A new version of the Mac app is available at

http://petteri.kamppuri.fidisk.fi/spellbookmaster/SpellbookMaster-2.3b3.zip

It contains a few bug fixes and improvements. All feedback is appreciated.

If you're interested in beta testing the iPhone app, please email me.

How is the iPhone app coming along? Is it still in the beta testing phase?

a text file containing the Advanced Player's Guide spells

Hi all!

Beta testing period is over.

The Mac app version 2.3 is available from http://petteri.kamppuri.fidisk.fi/spellbookmaster/.

iPhone app is in App Store review, and will hopefully be available in a week or two. It will be able to import all the spells available at d20pfsrd.com, which includes Pathfinder SRD and APG spells.

I hope you enjoy the apps!

i've made some changes to the APG file, now everything should work:

I have been looking for a spellbook program for some time now, and was initially overjoyed to discover this solution, which appears to be the exact implementation I was hoping for.

Alas, whenever I have been in the position of requiring a new computer, I have lacked the financial scope to acquire a Mac. My only platform is a Windows 7 PC. From what I can see of the site, there is no Windows support for this solution. Have I missed something and/or is there a method of somehow emulating the OS X 10.5 environment on my Windows box?

The screenshots display most, if not all, of the features I have been hoping to find, and I would like very much to be able to make use of the software...

Would it be possible to add something like this to the iPhone app.

The ability to designate what spells my caster knows and has prepared? With an ability to "tick" them or something if they have already been used?

I have tried several times to download and open this file with no success whatsoever. It might be because I am using Windows 7. But for whatever reason it is extremely frustrating.

Hi everybody!

I started a Twitter account for SpellbookMaster. I've tweeted about a new feature, anyone interested please check it out at

@spellbookmaster

Please feel free to send feedback using email or Twitter.

Thanks!

It may be just me but the current download seems to be bugged and doesn't provide the spell details... I've emailed Petteri and fingers crossed it's just me but you may want to hold off from downloading if you already have a working copy (I was doing it in hope of getting the new spells from Ultimate Magic ;p)

Still an awsome app (if you have an IPhone or IPad :-))

Petterro has confirmed that the pathfinder file has been updated and isn't currently compatible with his application but the fix is on its way :-)

Oh and if you have a spellbook that doesn't work you can delete it by swiping over the book name (obvious once you know how ;p)

Cheers for the prompt responce Petterro, cant wait for the fix and the new content it will bring :-)

Is there a link to the old version of the spell list we can use until the app is updated to the new format?

Petterro has released the new version which I can confirm now downloads the new spell list fine! Roll on all those new spells! :-)

Ta muchly Petterro

I've been using Spellbook master for a while and I love it. The new version added much better formatting of Pathfinder spells.... however I'm still confused because I download Pathfinder spells on the menu, however not all the spells from www.d20pfsrd.com show up (specifically I don't see the Ultimate Magic spells).

Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

They are there alas they oddly all begging with a http tag... Sort by level and scroll to the bottom and you'll see them. Hopefully this will get tidied up in future releases.

If you have the latest version of the app and re-download the spellbook the the new spells now show with their proper spell names :-)
