Not creepypasta ... or I don't think it is. I dug around in it for several days when I heard about it, had kind of a X-Files like feel to it, but with more of a horror theme.

Anyone have any ideas?

The SCP Foundation, maybe?

Sovereign Court

that's the one! Thanks!

Yep. That's creepy, alright.

You do know about the new Channel Zero TV show coming soon, right?

Nope. But since I don't have cable it won't matter...le sigh.

SCP Foundation flips between horror and hilarious depending on which page you get to. Some pages will make you want to Nope right out of there while others will leave your eye rolling - or figuratively floor-rolling (with laughter) - due the sheer silly.

They even have their own, "No really, we swear you can't kill it." Tarrasque-thing that continuously causes troubles every time they try to get rid of it and occasionally other times when it escapes (usually due to shenanigans of othe SCPs).

It tends to try to keep things creepy, but enough things are vague enough that, as one commenter pointed out, in at least one case, you could fill something with positivity and goodness and it would take on a completely different tone... and make a looooot of internal logical sense for what they're doing and trying to achieve.

It's a nifty site. Not for everyone.

I recommend looking up "Red Sea Object" and "Star Signals". ^_^

You’re alive with the words, right?

For the Linkage for us all. :)

links and edits my own

Really, the SCP-foundation has some phenomenal game ideas just waiting to torment your play- -er, uh, I mean, help your games come to life. Yes. That is what I mean.

(Also, sort of relevent, kind of. I'm sure there are better ones, but that one just kind of came to mind quickly.)

SCP makes me wish I had the old Dark Matter game and a group to play it with.

"Red Sea Object" was a good read. Liked having to dig through multiple layers to get the full story (or as full as it gets). On to "Star Signals".

And agreed that it is a great source for inspiration, especially for a modern horror themed campaign.

Heh.

Possibly extremely relevant for the Strange Aeons AP.

It makes me wonder what would happen if you sent a large (but devoted and relatively innocent/faithful) group of Fifthists actors with instructions to perform the "best" version of The Hanged King's Tragedy (with instructions to desire the "special" results) through SCP 093...

Hm... or maybe give it to someone who's goal is the eradication of SPC 682 with no other casualties... it should only take 100 or so indoctrinated volunteers/attempts...

... what could go wrong? >;)

SCP 682 can't die ... and good gods it leads to a massive tangle of SCP entries with all the ways they have tried to destroy it. I spent two hours of down time at work digging through it and did not get to the end. ;)

All right! Just finished a review of the archives. Good times.

First, some of the greatest hits.

These ones are particularly Pathfinder-worthy.

Finally, some new discoveries.

This should give you an idea of the sort of thing I look for when I'm on the site.

PS: Keep an eye on this one for the next couple months...

Oh, I'm fully aware that there is no known way for it to die. I've read all the attempts (at least in the past - there are probably new ones). Some of them are hilarious, too. (Especially the one where Dr. [REDACTED] ends up [REDACTED] it!)

Regardless, I've a brand new plan:

- Step 1) Open a SPC 093's mirror'verse
- Step 2) Shove SPC 682 into it (with disco balls and loud speakers blaring Awesome Mix Tape Vol. 1) and close the gate behind
- Step 3) ???
- Step 4) Profit!

And surely nothing could go wrong... ;)

That said, 2998 is humorous; really, the only real problem is the concept that they refused to speak at all or listen to diplomacy. If there was a way around that - if they'd have more or less "come in peace" as it were to discuss with humanity rather than destroy them - it really wouldn't have been a bad ending, over-all.

Hey, just saw this thread! I write for the site.

I just posted one about an anomalous protein for the SCP-3000 contest.

I want to join. Give them links to the IRL human skin books in actual libraries. Also, if Angie Baby from the song caught an indestructible monster in her radio, she would be a horror super heroine.

Note: my protein is now SCP-3966.

Also, you absolutely can join! Joining the site can be done here. Be sure to read the Guide for Newbies; it tells you how to join, and is a generally good thing to know. The site tries to maintain quality control on submissions, and the SCP format is tricky to get down, sometimes.

(I'll also point out these three objects of mine as the most Pathfinder-like, but really much of my other works are even better, I think.)

@ Wrong John Silver - I'll be damned, I'd always wondered where I'd seen your name before. Neat.

SCP 5712!

I still don't quite know what a Montauk 110 is...

No one does... and that's the point!

It's supposedly "too terrible" to imagine, though some have speculated that it's actually just the opposite: so bright and shiny and nice that it's mind-numbing.

Fun times.

It tickles me that you knew what that was :P
Given the subject matter, I was pretty horrified by the possibilities.
That it might be something nice never occurred to me...
