Natural armor question

Rules Questions

I'm a 9th level Draconic sorcerer, and thus get a natural armor bonus of +2 from my draconic resistances. I have just found an Amulet of Natural Armor +3. Will the amulet stack with my draconic natural armor and bring it up to +5, or will it just overtake my draconic natural armor and make my natural armor bonus +3?

Natural armor does not stack with itself so you will only get the +3 if you use both.

Unfortunately, both are bonuses to natural armor, so you take the greater of the two.

The only AC bonuses that stack with each other are dodging bonuses.

Technically the Draconic gives you Natural Armor bonus and the Amulet gives an Enhancement Bonus to Natural Armor.

They are different things, the second increasing the first. There is no stacking involved.

With the Amulet +3, your Natural Armor bonus would be a total of +5.

They stack.

Quote:
Dragon Resistances (Ex): At 3rd level, you gain resist 5 against your energy type and a +1 natural armor bonus. At 9th level, your energy resistance increases to 10 and natural armor bonus increases to +2. At 15th level, your natural armor bonus increases to +4.

The Draconic Sorcerer bloodline gives you a natural armor bonus of +1. It does not improve your existing natural armor bonus.

The amulet gives increases your natural AC by giving you an enhancement bonus to your natural AC.

And what happens when you polymorph yourself to a dragon? Which bonus will stack?

Bump for a good question that needs answering.

An amulet of natural armor gives you an enchantment bonus to natural armor so it stacks with sorcerer bloodline or various polymorphing effects. And of course racial natural armor be it a kobold, lizardfolk, ogre or a true dragon.

The Draconic bloodline and the X form spells grant an natural armor bonus so they don't stack with each other.

not really that complicated, your gear is merged when you polymorph, so on,your draconic resistance. Check out again the polymorph school entry.

Excellent, all my questions have been answered on the subject. Successful thread was successful. =)

Only resistances that depend on your physical form, such as a teifling's resistances, cease when you transform. Those that are based on class abilities, like a Draconic bloodline Sorcerer's resistances stay.

Gear is a little more tricky and open to GM interpretation.
