Alignment: Neutral Good, we also Accept LG, CG, and Neutral/TN
Purpose: Protection of Brighthaven, The Empyrean Order, as well as all Settlements/Companies in a Mutual Defense Pact

We are the Shield of Brighthaven. We will help protect and mete out justice, as well as police our sphere of influence. Being a part of the military is being part of that which makes this world a safer place. Joining the military will give you an opportunity to explore the world we live in through caravans, military operations, and the oversight of strategic locations. If you decide to join, realize that the military will be your first priority if we are attacked, and thus requires your time at odd intervals.

The Empyrean Order Military Hierarchy

Requirements and Participation:

Military Member Requirements -
- Teamspeak/Mumble
- Ability to follow a Chain of Command

Participation -
- Real life comes first
- Must sign in game at least once a week
- Forums at least bi-monthly
- Encouraged to show up for all public military meetings

When joining The Empyrean Order Military you will be assigned one of two active statuses:

Primary - Members of The Empyrean Order’s Military who are willing to defend their lands, and take offensive action against those we deem TEO and Brighthaven’s enemies, without reservation.
Duties: Offensive and Defensive PvP.
Defensive Execution: Unless you are on a specific mission, at all cost you must strive to defend Brighthaven and surrounding areas from enemy and hostile incursion.
Support: Tier I equipment replacement in offensive and defensive duties, free repairs in offensive and defensive duties, and lower training costs.

Reservist - Members of The Empyrean Order who are willing to defend their lands, and occasionally take offensive action against those we deem TEO and Brighthaven’s enemies.
Duties: Defensive PvP in TEO/Brighthaven lands, and limited offensive PvP against war targets.
Defensive Execution: If the Primaries are unable to actively defend against incursion, at all cost you must strive to defend Brighthaven and surrounding areas from enemy and hostile incursion. If you are currently in Brighthaven, or Brighthaven sponsored hexes, you must help defend.
Support: Tier I equipment replacement in offensive and defensive duties, free repairs in offensive and defensive duties

Once you join the forums, make sure you introduce yourself, as well as make an application to CotP. After that you should have access to the PFO private forums and be able to discuss more in-depth topics. From there request access to The Military sub-forums.

on a serious note, your cavalry division is disproportionate to reality.

In addition each company should have it's own cadre of mages and clerics, and so should each division and corps. Company = Squad sized, Division = squad sized, Corps = Two Squad sized.

Having the mages and clerics in their own corps can leave them dreadfully exposed and harder to bring to bear.

That is an organizational chart based on who is in charge of what group.

Each company gets its own Cadre, and Clerics are assigned where needed. I just want to make the chart look robust, so that we could grow into it over time, I have no idea how large we might come.

And I disagree with you on your sentiments about Cavalry, Realm of Kirdain in Darkfall, as well as several other DF groups had Cavalries this big.

With the organizational break down, no. If, however, you are going to be a heavy cavalry using army you need more cavalry. I was merely pointing out that you have about equal numbers, which is highly unconventional.

I think it's a bit premature to discuss any form of cavalry/infantry ratio when the developers have flat out stated that if mounts make it in during EE there still won't be mounted combat yet.

IF we get mounted combat we will have a division that specializes in that part of the game, if not then so be it.

Ryan has alluded to the fact that you can make your mounts dissapear while they aren't in use.

Depending on the cost of replacing them if they're in your inventory when you die vs. the speed benefit they offer I would imagine pretty much everyone will be a dragoon if by dragoon you mean someone who will use mounts to get around and dismount to fight. At least until some of them become full-time cav or you get classes like wildshape druids and monks that may be able to keep pace with a mount.

I'd expect they'd probably add an interruptable timer and maybe make you vulnerable during the mount action, so impractical to mount up in the middle of a battle, at least when you can be attacked, to move.

With the formation fighting thing though, they could probably pretty easly add "cavalry" formations on the sly even without true mounted individual combat.... do a check to see if everyone has a mount to create/join the formation then apply a series of modifiers to simulate the properties that cavalry would have. Though I suspect formation fighting may and up being after mounted combat on the implimentation list anyway.

As the Landrush dwindles, day by day, towards the 10 week mark we see more and more consolidation. Currently on the Landrush boards there are several groups that fall into LG, NG, N, and CG that want some kind of PvP presence, TEO Military might be the place you are looking for.

We will have plenty of opportunities for PvP securing our borders, protecting our caravans, making examples of those that would do harm to our citizenry. If you tend towards a neutral or good alignment, individual or company, I implore you to make that meaningful choice and Choose TEO Military and Brighthaven as your home.

ALL Military members will receive discounted training, the best money can buy, free repairs (within reason), and basic equipment replacement in the line of duty. We take care of our own and want to foster a greater bond and relationship between our Military and our Citizenry, creating a symbiosis and partnership towards a bright future.
