This probably won't come up, but does it assume your character has housing, and apartment, etc in Absolom?
Just curious how you guys play where you guys live normally
General assumption is that most Pathfinders are itinerant wanderers by nature. I basically go by I've been living in the town my last scenario left me at.
To actually HAVE a residence in Absalom, you must have one of the appropriate vanities purchased with prestige such as Absalom Townhouse or Wizard's Tower.

Is that so? I always assumed you had to purchase those vanities only if you actually wanted something out of it. For example it's perfectly reasonable to have rich parents - but you may not select the trait. It's only fluff.
Also: I think you can handwave it by saying that every Pathfinder can stay at the Grand Lodge in Absalom if they want.

The campaign assumpotion is that you do have a residence or official abode of some sort, where you can leave stuff you aren't bringing along for this particular expedition.
Whether that is a bunk and chest in the Grand Lodge, a room in a local boarding house, or your Uncle Jericho's guest room is up to you. If you want any sort of residence with true mechanical effect, you will need to purchase it as a vanity or actual gp transaction.

I know this came up a year or two ago, and Mike Brock clarified that you can say you live anywhere you want, from a blanket on the forest floor to an opulent mansion in the middle of Absalom, but you don't get any mechanical benefit from it (besides having a place to dump that cold weather outfit you're not brining to Osirion) unless you pay PP for a vanity.

Well I know I have at least one character who has spent enough on armor that he could have maintained himself like a prince for about thirty years. At least going by the living expenses rules. For some reason him also basically crashing at the local temple of Iomedae and at the local Pathfinder lodge is sort of amusing. Then again I always assume if you are member of the Pathfinders you are a little bit off in some manner or other.

Cool, this is exactly what I was asking about actually, stuff that's sorta like- where do I put stuff I don't need kind of questions.
Also, how does it work with horses and such? Like how do you bring the. On the boat your traveling on?

From here out, to keep our affiliations covert, we request all of you make arrangements for your stay outside the Grand Lodge.
This tells me that Pathfinders normally stay at their local lodge unless they make arrangements otherwise.

(It was actually Mark Moreland.)
Everyone's assumed to have a place to dump their crap and perform their Day Jobs. Also, how does it work with horses and such? Like how do you bring the. On the boat your traveling on?
Not every adventure involves enough open space for Large mounts/companions, but you can leave the critter back home too if necessary.

I've always assumed that the Grand Lodge provided a similar service to real world military/paramilitary base. IE: Each lodge has a large number of individual rooms, a dining hall, logistics organisation, library/research facility, a healing room, small temple(s), stables, etc. (I assume also the other lodges provide similar services, just maybe not as many rooms or a longer line for the just single healer, etc)
Each Pathfinder when 'posted' to a certain lodge is allocated a room if they require it and able to access all of the facilities. They can dump their stuff in the room and access it as required for the course of their 'posting.'
I also assume that the basics (food and lodging) are covered by the Society taking a small cut of everything we bring back.
Note: I have nothing cannon to back this up with, this is just my own assumptions.
