edit- and recruit me if possible sorry forgot that last bit

Most everyone here is quite helpful. If you don't know an acronym, just ask. It might be helpful for you to head over to the advice boards for some tips and pointers but it's certainly not required.

The way to make dice rolls is in with the rest of how to format your text under the spoiler below the box you type in when creating a message. Click on "show" to reveal the information.

Don't be too concerned about being a beginner although it is good to be clear about your level of experience when applying for games. Some DM's may turn you away but there are plenty that don't mind helping people get started. Everyone was a noob at some point.

I will definately do that thank you ill look for it right away thank you :)

when getting ready to pbp, can I use my pathfinder society characters? Or do I have to put all the character sheet info into an alias?

thats another thing when I first got this account I joined society but I dont know how that works and sorry I cant help you gossamar I am unsure of that as well

You can use pathfinder society characters, but need to make sure if the DM is running a PFS game. They'll have more information on what to do.

Uke, your best option is to look through the threads and start applying to those that seem interesting. If you have a question, just ask.

This message is a very useful introduction to what the expectations are generally. Very recommended.

If you're just starting out, read the Reference Documentation and be familiar with your race, class, skills, feats, and equipment.

And don't worry! We're not WoW. Everyone's a newbie at some point, and most people are understanding and helpful.

There's really only two basic rules, and everything flows from them:

1. Follow Wheaton's Law, and
2. Have fun!

Ninja'ed...(Caro Cogitatus linked that in the post just before yours.)

Also, GM's wont fudge over newcomers. We all start somewhere.
Browse a bit through recruitment and gameplay forums to get an impression of different games and the style of their GMs.

Often there are specific games started just for new players, that teach Pathfinder as well as PbP methods on this site, keep an eye out for those.

Mostly, don't be afraid to ask questions.

Everybody's right, we all started as newbie's at some point.
Personally, I lurked for a while just to get a feel for how the whole process went, then got up the jumption to apply and the rest is history.. :)

Just make sure you read 'all' of a DM's requirements!

Pretty well everybody will be glad to answer questions...

Hello and welcome, little uke!

Someone else posted a similar question a couple of weeks ago, and that thread is here. Only a couple of answers, but some good pointers on how to get started in play-by-post gaming.

See you around the boards!
