Recruitment

I laid out a great deal of what makes this game worth playing here: LINK, and am looking for others that would be willing to give it a shot in a PBP format on these very boards.

I want voracious posters (one per day at least) for a small group to play in Norrath.

Interested?

I have been interested in this setting for quite some time. I won't admit to being voracious, but I can probably handle your 1/day posting requirement.

Dotting (hope so in these days) for interest.

Hey, Gandal, still among the living? :)

Guten morgen Zyren.

More or less, but have greatly reduced my pbps :(
From time to time have played in a table game, but atm am only working T_T as usual for this period.

Maaaybe. I had a lot of really memorable experiences in EQ 1, back in the day. Just ordered the Player's Handbook.

Thoughts on playing this straight up using the core/canon EverQuest RPG vs. converting it to Pathfinder, but keeping the juicy bits (ititerative attacks, mana system, et cetera).

I actually have the book, it might be interesting to actually make use of it.

Here is a post speaking of converting EQ to Pathfinder: LINK

How many do you need to start? Seems like we may have 4 ready to go, not counting Jinx.

BTW, my recollection of EQ was there was a LOT of solo play in the early levels. Ah the good old days of the Feydark, running between Felwithe and Kelethin looking for that rare drop and getting ganked by Crushbones. I told my wife about "Train to Zone" a few weeks ago while we were playing GuildWars 2.

Will there be raid level quests available at the end of the campaign?

My same thoughts

My hope is that there is someone out there that would run the game. I'm game to DM/GM another game, but I would love to be a player for a long running EQ game.

<lays out the DM treats in the hopes of catching one unawares so they can staple them to the floor and force them to run the game>

Also I am pondering if it's worth updating to Pathfinder rules, or just run it warts and all as it is.

Thoughts on both?

I'm good keeping the rules as they are. I don't see a huge benefit to converting to Pathfinder, honestly...

Works for me. We will run with core EverQuest rules.

When everyone avoided eye contact I got the distinct impression that the music stopped and I am the only one without a chair, musical or otherwise. If I am incorrect please let me know, but in the interim I will move forward as if this is my baby to run. If someone wants to run a game in Norrath please let me know, I would love to be a player in this universe for a long running and fast-paced game.

I tried to make a campaign, but it appears to be borked right now. As soon as it is fixed (along with the 91 other bugs they are working on right now) I'll fire out some private messages so people know where to go.

Start considering character concepts, we'll be using the point buy from page 26 of the EverQust Player's Handbook (I hear that 4Shared had a .pdf copy online, though I do not condone such activities). The EverQuest (not EverQuest II) Player's Handbook is the only book you need for this game. The only exception is if you're a class with a pet, then there's another tiny book you need (think it's a web enhancement called something along the lines of "monsters of norrath pets and warders), let me know if you have troubles finding it.

I'd love if everyone would post their character using Myth-Weavers (http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumhome.php). Just sign in, click on "Sheets" and click "New Sheet". There's a drop down menu, which you'll set to "D&D 3.5e", name the character and click "Create." Make sure you save often.

Here's one of my characters using that sheet: CHARACTER LINK

I use group initiative to speed up combats.

p.s. For those that played the online game, I did for a few years, this will be a bit of a different energy. Suffice to say that it's a long run to a zone wall, since there aren't any :)

I want to meet Firiona Vie <hahem>

Never mind the previous note :)

As for books, i have Player's Handbook,Game master's Guide,Al Kabor's Arcana,Monsters of Luclin,Monsters of Norrath and Luclin.
Would love to run a game but i'm afraid i don't have the time right now, plus i may not be able to post daily during the end of the year (if that is a problem better say it now,as a lot of PbP games die during xmas).

No issue I can see.

A number of the players are unable to post around Christmas, where others are able to post much more, so I try open things up for roleplaying (drop you in a pub or something) where people can play in the sandbox, or spend time with their RL families as they wish without missing anything crucial.

I try to invest a lot of time/energy into my games (will check my cell phone throughout the day when I get a break) so I am looking for players that are a tad voracious. I'd much rather a smaller group that is hitting the boards a minimum of once per day than loads that I have to chase down and slow things to a crawl.

It isn't about perfect attendance, I just need a quick heads up if you're going to miss, so we're not standing around staring at the boards wondering when you're going to arrive. Life gets in the way at times for all of us :)

Starting a game for voracious posters over here: LINK

So far, we have 2 players joining the play. Would be nice to have Fredrik and LazarX signify interest.

Verocious posters abound.

Norrath lives again!

I'm at Shady, drop a copper at my feet when you get here.

Please be advised that sometimes I leave your feet behind.
