Also, I have cookies near to me. They are chocolate chip, and not all that good. But they are cookies. Perhaps I shall eat some later.

Perks of finishing work early on Wednesday: I get to have pizza and grown-up beverage for breakfast.

Whoops. Didn't even notice I was ToP.

Also, the cookies looked really overdone, so I threw them away.

After a truly awful day yesterday, the leg looks some better this morning (better being a relative term) and I don't feel quite as bad. The powers of infection and antibiotic side effects combined have been rather devastating. On the bright side of things, catching up on sleep and losing weight (even suddenly and rapidly) are good things.

Thoughts like "how bad does it have to get before I think about the hospital?" and "if the antibiotic doesn't work, will they remove the leg above or below my (already bad) knee?" are no longer popping into my brain today. Those are not-fun thoughts.

Stress is starting to pile up on me again. I am sure it'll go away soon enough.

Tiny T-Rex this morning woke up came out in the living room and says "Dad! You're the King of Summer!" He then strikes his most heroic hands on hips while looking up and to the side pose and says "And I am the Prince of Summer!"

I did not. Some of them were almost burnt, so I had some peanut M&Ms instead.

NWN I only or NWN I & II?

I personally only recommend NWN1 if you are going for the online play, as that's what I use and my (admittedly limited) experience with NWN2 online was less than pleasant.

As for the single-player campaign, both have their ups and downs. The main campaign of NWN1 is pretty lackluster but the two main expansions (Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark) are both pretty awesome. NWN2 is much the same - the main game is pretty blah, but the first expansion (Mask of the Betrayer) is downright brilliant according to people I know who have played through it (mainly Ebon); haven't heard much about Storm of Zehir.

Whichever you get, don't forget to pick up the expansions in any case. They add extra class options, extra resources, and in online play are pretty much required (as well as downloading customized extra content, but most online communities have those posted somewhere on their forums or something).

Our dog let's us know when baked goods are done by sitting in front of oven, I haven't used a timer in years, the best part is he's never wrong :-)

My dog tries to take off your hand as she is going for the food. She is 15 years old and almost blind, so that might account for that reaction.

Thanks for the info. I will definately pick it up if I can't find a copy in my video game collection. Having said that, I might pick it up from gog when it goes on sale just as insurance.

Yup. Definitely a rain. That one was rather had to not notice. It might be more of a shower, though.

I'll get to NWNII expansions. When I finish the basic game. When I finish <insert a bagful of other games, with order changing at random>

At least I should finish XCOM soon. And the other XCOM probably not so long after.

Not true. My worst allergies all year round come in Winter. Spring and summer are about equally bad, and autumn is the least troublesome.

But he was talking to me, and it's true that May and September are when I get kicked in the teeth.

I have to concede, if it was winter, I would have fewer allergies. (Not none - I'm also allergic to mold.)

I never got that mentality. I always figured if I was a starving child, I'd rather know that people were wasting food than stuffing themselves past the point of fullness while thinking of me.

Ah, touche. I figured it was just more of the usual Freeholdian "Winter is Better"ness and the "you" in the sentence was intended to be more general.

I liked Storm of Zehir, a) because you can create your own party (of four, then add two NPCs if you take a particular feat), b) because of the sandbox elements (you wander around the map fighting things as well as there being a fairly sketchy plot) and c) because of the additional dialogue options if any party member puts ranks in various skills. It's also a good opportunity to try out different prestige classes without having to make heart-rending plot decisions as a result of your race/alignment.

If I played NWN2 I'd probably be all over it, if only because I think Yuan-Ti are awesome. One of these days I'll get around to playing one.

I think that I am just before the final battle in the other XCOM. Or maybe two or three engagements from the end...

Yes, that will be the final battle. Not today, though. Enough alien killing for now. I think.

Drejk, just understand that the Enemy Within expansion is that, an expansion. It is well worth playing, but the final mission is the same. Just lots and lots of extra stuff added to it.

I started Enemy Unknown but after some setback that forced me to start from the beginning, I played through Enemy Within. Which was fun because of lovely addition that were MEC soldiers on my side (even if I used only one and only after I had all the MEC tech improvements available) and mechatoids on the alien side. Mechatoids are so cute... Ok... Maybe cute is not the right term here...

When I was speaking of the other XCOM game I meant Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

ah. Ok. I hope that you enjoy the other xcom game. Tell me what you think of it after you are done. If it is any good, then i might just pick it up.

I was just listening to "Comforting Sounds" by Mew, and the call siren started to go off at the local VFD. The siren matched up perfectly with the music. If I'd been dropping acid when that happened, it would have been the most profound moment of my life.

I have mixed feelings. I want to like it despite a bit clumsy controls (at least when compared with recent shooter games such as Tomb Raider and Far Cry 1/2), headache-inducing graphics filter that is supposed to give it fifties early sixties look (ok, I am the one to blame for not turning it off), holes in the characters' behavior that look like somebody cut out pieces of plot from the game...

Watching the extended cut of "Aliens" for the first time. Not only did I not realize that the actor who played Lt. Gorman is the same guy who played Ambassador Standish in the 2007 "Sherlock Holmes" movie, but the actor who played the superintendent of Hadley's Hope also played Captain Hollister on "Red Dwarf." That dude has terrible luck in space.

Fun story about a dog and a hamster,

When Josefina (the hamster) escaped for the first time we did the whole leave the cage open with greens in the dish, no sign all day. as i was shutting down the house, i noticed our Beagle was kind of hiding half way under the bed licking something, my first thought naturally was "Oh s#*+! this is going to be messy!" i looked closer and there was our dog, carefully holding her in his paws gently cleaning her off, while she chewed on his toenails, it was the cutest f~+!ing thing i've ever seen! and i once saw a momma dog nurse kittens that had just lost their mom..... well maybe the hamster thing was the second cutest:-D

Anyway for months we'd been telling the dog not to claw at the cage door, the whole time thinking he just wanted to eat her, when this whole time he'd been trying to help her escape!:-D

thats all for now, have a good day all:-)
