Great news, LordSynos. Both about seeing your son, but also the game - hopefully everything works out to your satisfaction.

That does remind me, in my PF game it was fun since a player* is a cattle-buyer and some Shoanti tribesmen were being ripped off by the Aspis consortium over brokerage and storage fees for the auction.

Neat. It can be fun when someone brings their real-life experience to a game session.

Cool story -

One of my older fraternity brothers, Steve, has cystic fibrosis. His older brother also had it, but died from it about 20 years ago. Years ago, Steve wrote a poem about it. Recently, another fraternity brother took that poem, changed it up a bit, and put it to music.

Very cool s#+$. It'd make you cry.

That's a great gesture.

Bonus Kingmaker session tonight!

OK for my players, spoilers for anyone else PC-side in KM:
Into the Lich's Lair! Let's see if the Lords of Iomrall have what it takes to tango with a mythic necromancer.

You should be, if only for the misuse of "their." :S

Spiders mess with the language centers of my brain apparently.

I should probably try to get them out of my head.

Spiders or your language centers? ;)

I got some freelance work finished this week, and I'm starting on a couple of new projects soon.

I also managed to get something up on the blog, and that will be live in 45 minutes.

Like the one time my character had all his clothes disintegrated, so I played that entire session naked...

Not evil, per se.

More like annoying passive-aggressiveness. If I can be bothered.

Hahahahahaha!

I would love to see that!

I don't suppose anybody here has a Nintendo 2- or 3DS and has played Bravely Default yet? I downloaded the demo but haven't gotten around to trying it out; however I stumbled onto the soundtrack on Youtube and it's pretty awesome. Was curious if anyone had experience with the game and could tell me if it's any good or not (with the caveat that it's a JRPG so if you don't like JRPGs you probably won't/don't enjoy it) before I consider splurging.

I don't have those systems, but I have heard a couple of folks on chat rave about Bravely Default.

Cool. I posted the question again over in Video Games, so maybe it'll get some bites there =)

I want to like it, for the music alone, but I'm not spending ~$50 on a game I might not like without asking someone who's taken the plunge first >_>

That's kinda awesome. That said, I'd do my best impersonation of a dog whistle and manage a sudden mythic feat of acrobatics onto my desk if I saw one in my house, but it's kinda awesome.

Yes, that's why I'm letting him come to me this time.

The other way around didn't turn out well.

Also this is a gnome wearing makeup not a giant goblin dog demon.

The only thing that really matters is deciding if it's a job you want.

Research the company, and come up with questions that will tell you what you need to know. I asked about how long my interviewer had worked there. What he liked most about it. What he liked least. As he answered questions, I pursued things that caught my attention.

Find out about the culture, the longevity of employees, the perqs and the atmosphere. Take stock of the things you know you can't stand in a job and try to find out about how prevalent those sorts of things are there.

In my experience (software engineer), they'll come back to you later through the headhunter with an offer if interested. You don't have to say anything then except "Thank you for your time, I enjoyed learning more about you. I hope to hear from you soon."

It's a good feels when somebody wants you, though, until you realize that headhunters make money thataway.

I admit I enjoy the ego stroke. Great advice JD! I and pretty much anybody would know this company. So the stability factor is there.

I still know some folks who work for them, so i will do my due diligence, in the mean time I sent off my resume with my package requirements for me to jump ship, and of course I have to discuss it with my wife
