Scarab Sages

Good morning to all my awesome FAWTLY Brethren out in the wide world today! Happy Friday! It's supposed to be a beautiful day here in Houston. The temp is currently around 50, but we're gonna climb up to about 73 or so, with lots of sunshine.

Scarab Sages

Nekkid Happy Friday!

Scarab Sages

The best kind of Friday!

Scarab Sages

Today I was thinking we might take the boy over to see the new house.

Cool story -

One of my older fraternity brothers, Steve, has cystic fibrosis. His older brother also had it, but died from it about 20 years ago. Years ago, Steve wrote a poem about it. Recently, another fraternity brother took that poem, changed it up a bit, and put it to music.

Very cool s+@+. It'd make you cry.

Scarab Sages

Baby blue
Was the color of her eyes
Baby blue
Like the Colorado skies
Like a breath of spring she came and left
And I still don't know why
So, here's to you and whoever
Holds my baby blue tonight

Scarab Sages

This is what happens when songs get stuck in my head.

It's weird when people try for a level of informed geekiness beyond me. This chick at work mentioned the Godzilla trailer to me. So I started going on about how it's gonna be an awesome movie with the different Kaiju. She looked at me like I had two heads.

Scarab Sages

All right folks, I'm out of here for now. Gonna be a busy few hours here at work.

I love these moments. I am the affirmed geekiest person in IT. Everytime someone tries to out-geek me, they are roundly trounced. And rightly so.

THIS THREAD NEEDS MORE KAIJU.

Then we need you on our team for the geek pub quiz. (we regularly come in 4th or worse)

I feel weird, albeit in a good way. My mind's been filled with mecha ever since two pals invited me over to a collaboration story inspired by Super Robot Wars and the Mecha genre in general.

Neat!

Not today though =/ Today I'm home sick with some kinda stomach bug. Spent all last night barely getting any sleep due to nausea. Hoping a day of rest and some soup later will help.

I hope you got better. I've got three days' worth of posts to find out.

Thankfully I'm feeling much better now, after a long morning sleep, soup lunch, and some green tea on and off through the afternoon. Here's hoping it was either one of those 24-hour bugs or just something I ate that didn't settle well.

That didn't take long. Two minutes...

:)

Morning FaWtL. Wishing ye all fair winds and strong drinks on another fine day.

My Dad turns 60 today, so we're celebrating with his favourite home cooked meal and desert. Me mum and I also put together a big, mixed box of treats that he likes, then wrapped it in wrapping paper and stuck glittery things to it. Yay for birthdays! :3

Happy birthday to your dad!

Yes. Yes it is. :D

Clowns are what make circuses evil.

Thank <deity> there aren't any spider circuses.

Here's hoping to spend most of today vertical. There are some very good reasons for spending most of several days horizontal, but coughing and fever is not one of the good ones.

Goodness. You've been fighting off a series of illnesses for a while now. :(

I really hope you get better soon.

We found one here in Denver on Wednesday. It's close to the zoo and museum and near the park with the giant d8 sculptures.

Bleh. I hope he stops, for his own sake as well as others. He won't enjoy being ostracized from gaming groups because he's labeled a cheater.

I just finished reorganizing my minis. I need more containers. I can't divide them up according to creature type as well as I'd like to.

I reorganized my minis after the whirlwind of Owlcon this weekend.

20 hours of GM-ing.

I killed a PFS character every day of the Con.

Success!

I've only got 19 GMing sessions under my belt, but I have yet to successfully kill a character.

For your hatred of Rawr!, you must be sacrificed to the Badger God.

And the Badger God will be extra pissed for having to deal with this b@$#~&%# before the 4PM wake up time.

Rawr, is it true that you plan on unleashing evil on Freehold?

Really? 19 in toto? Lifetime? Or just in cons?

Last time I tried that, I got a concussion.

If I had lived in this part of North Carolina all my life, this statement would have confused the hell out of me.

Regional definition for toboggan.

Just PFS.

I've GMed considerably more than that, and I have killed plenty of characters in my home games.

I should hope so.

Not evil, per se.

More like annoying passive-aggressiveness. If I can be bothered.

;)

I don't like killing characters off, though.

Seriously, I think that is by far the best response I have ever heard a 10 year old make. To any question. Ever. :)
