The man should have taken out an insurance policy on his hands. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

Why they don't make potions of heal or potions of regenerate? :(

Heal up, dood!
Thanks for the update Mrs. Giant.

+1.

While we are awaiting for Rich's thumb to heal up we can at least see a new incarnation of Roy: Tiny metal-and-resin Roy.

WOW, that is sweet. Would be really fun to do an OOTS diorama with those when more come out.

Liberty's Edge

Any word on when the new book will be out? I don't read it online. I like to read the bok collections.

If you click on Drejk's link, it takes you to the Giant's webpage which includes all announcements related to GITP products. If a release date has been announced, it is likely there.

Liberty's Edge

I don't like to go to GITP. There was an issue with a pre order a couple of years back. When I asked about it on the GITP fourms, I was attacked and banned.

It is IMO hands down the most hostile place on the web.

I'm not suggesting you go to the message board. I'm just suggesting you read the blog where all the useful information is.

Liberty's Edge

Right now, I'd imagine it will be a while. Although I suspect that Rich is almost to a break point in the story to where the next book would end, he is a) recovering from a really nasty injury to his drawing hand that has prevented him from doing any creative work for the last month or so, b) behind on the webcomic, c) still has quite a personalized and general backer rewards left to do for the Kickstarter campaign. I honestly wouldn't expect to see another book until summer 2014 (as he usually waits to release books until con season).

New OotS is up now. Check it out!

good to see he is back

Good to see Rich is back in business! I hope that he continues to recover quickly and back to his full potential!

The last panel in that strip makes me wonder: What are Hinjo and Co up to right now? I don't remember and I'm a bit to lazy to go looking back through the old strips. Anyone care to refresh my memory? :)

V is alive!.

Spoiler:
And the raven gets its moment... You can always count on familiar.

I had lost a lot of hope and a lot of interest... but I'm getting it back.

It's a setup. Curse you, treacherous avian!

Two strips in two days?! C'mon, giant, I love you for the strips, but pace yourself! Let one sit in the drawer in case you need another week or two of down time, and then fire it off to tide us over. Your lack of restraint means I need to exercise restraint and not read them as soon as you post them, and we both know that's not going to happen.

Wasn't the last one up for a week or so before this latest? I know I saw it several times. The trapped door being the latest, the raven and V before that.

Maybe it's just me. I was going off of Sissyl's link from Tuesday morning, which was to the V strip, and then the trapped door strip was up yesterday.

Sissyl's link was quoted from Drejk's post from Friday the 18th.

Alrighty then, it's just me.

Belkar, in the mean time...

What the-? You're not an elf at all!

Spoiler:

I assume this is the lead in to that, but the use of prophecy as direct foreshadowing leaves a need for some kind of twist. Zombie (or some other undead) Belkar, perhaps?

Could I get a maximized vampiric touch coup de grace with that hold person?
I think Mattew Morris may be right, but at least there is a cleric there who can get him back on his feet...

Wow, I hadn't expected that...

Fergie:
So close and so far far at the same time...

Holy crap holy crap holy crap (I could not like Malack any more right now)

Edit: The wiki suspects he might be a vampire I cannot contain my excitement.

That last panel kinda supports the idea. We may not have seen the last of Belkar. He may return a changed halfling.

Also:

Spoiler:
Mr. Scruffy trying to save Belkar...

"I have no quarrel with you, feline."

I was about to post, "Nah, he can't be a vampire, he doesn't talk like undead" (black word bubble).

But there it is in the last panel...

So, ummmm.... basically not much changes for Belkar, except for needing stronger sunblock.

And all this time I thought they were just REPTILE fangs.

1) How was he walking around out in the sun...

2) How do you bite an oots character on the neck to embrace them.. they don't have knecks!

1) High level cleric; I'm sure he has a spell for that. Also he could be a vampire lord, and if I recall they could walk about in the sun.

2) Just bite them in the head

Create greater undead anyone?

+1 to that! Holy Excreta!!

All this time, I thought that Nale had killed his little lizardfolk. Nale killed his undead vampire converts!

Wow!

Well, now we know why he always wears that robe.

Bardic lore indeed. And fast conversion (with a -20 bonus ?).

I wonder about Malack's special diet. Is he some kind of undead (let's say a vampire) ?

He does have pale white skin and fangs. And we've never seen him outdoors, have we? Things that make you go Hmmmm...
I'm not saying you're wrong, but don't all lizardfolk have fangs? He could just be an albino...
I believe that he is both an albino lizardfolk AND an undead.

2 years and a half later :-)

Notice that he let go of his stick just before his voice changes. Maybe it is a gift from his God helping him appear normal.

Spoiler:
Now I am left wondering if Nale ever boasted of killing undead (ie, Malack's kin)

Also, I better understand how he could sneak up on Belkar :

Spoiler:
+8 racial bonus to Stealth

Doesn't Belkar have no ranks in Perception or Survival?

Point 1: They're still using 3.5, so the relevant skill would have been Listen, and yeah, if he has any ranks he doesn't have many.

Point 2: Belkar has a wisdom penalty

Belker has been noted as having a keen sense of smell (which has come into play in several issues). But regardless, there are a number of elements which could have caused Malack to have hidden his scent, not the least of which is being an undead in a pyramid full of death (and I don't think Belker had too terribly much interaction with him before).

Also, Belker totally heard the guy. He wasn't stealthing.

Remember that this is 3.5 there are numerous non-undead templates and creatures that could create spawn.

Drop that halfling!
