The life of an adventurer is never boring and even a simple trip into town to visit some merchants can often lead to a life or death struggle. Worse still, the town guard can get involved, landing the heroes in front of a judge or hauling them off to jail, leaving you with little choice but to stage a jailbreak. Paizo Publishing brings all of these iconic town locales to life in this latest GameMastery Map Pack! This line of gaming products provides simple and elegant tools for the busy Game Master. Inside, you will find 18 beautiful 5"x8" map tiles that can be combined to form four common locations in a fantasy town including:
Town Gate
Merchant's Guildhouse
City Watch Station
Courthouse
Game Masters shouldn't waste their time drawing the town jail every time the player characters get into a nasty bar fight. With GameMastery Map Pack: Town, you'll always be ready for a corrupt trial and the ensuing fight for freedom.
Good GMs can never have too many maps at their disposal, and Paizo’s GameMastery Map Packs provide high-quality gridded maps for use with both RPGs and miniatures games.

I'm generally new to Pathfinder, and was wondering ... I noticed these maps are being released around the time of the new adventure path (Council of Thieves) ... are they meant to be particularly useful for that adventure (while still being helpful for various other ones of course) or is the content basically random and it just happens to be releasing at the same time?

Thanks!
We do occasionally time stuff like that, but in this case, there's no particular tie-in.

I'm really interested in picking this one up. Would love to see some preview pics, though.
They weren't actually broken—they were CMYK, so they work on some browsers but not others. I've converted them to RGB now, so they should work for everyone.

You guys are trying to get me to subscribe to the maps too! I've bought a number of the flip-mats and like them, but I've been holding off on the maps subscription because of the map cards but these look good! Not sure I can resist the temptation much longer.

Although the thumbnails don't appear (with IE7), I was able to view the sample pics by clicking on them anyway. It looks like it's mostly building interiors. Are there any more external shots of a town?

D'oh! I failed to notice that my colorspace converter changed the file extension. Better now?
Another fun set to create. The sample pics are quite light in tone, but believe me, the finals are very, very rich in color and detail. Like the huge dragon's head on the wall in the Merchant's Guildhouse. Enjoy!
Has anyone ever thought of or tried to make a 3D map. When my PC's storm a castle wall (which they have done quite a few times) or climbed a rooftop I always have to try and adjust my maps so they see where they are in relation to everyone else.
Water campaigns are a chore too. I'd like to do stuff with one but the mapping is always discouraging.
Odd; my last review for this didn't publish? No matter... retry #1!
This was my first of many products, and I found it excellent. Variable, great stock, worked well with my campaign.
Only downside? I'd previously purchased the "Town flipmap"; and discovered these cards were an almost duplicate of that content. No matter; have learnt from this experience, but that's a Hot Tip for anyone else about to do anything similar.

When I want 3D effects I use World Works or Fat Dragon Games 3D cardstock products.

That was a damn cowardly thing to do Dragon! YOU just burned down an innocent man.
Well, he should have thought twice before decorating his guildhouse with my friend's head.

Is this the set that "fits inside" the buildings on the town flip mat?
All these maps are put of print. Can I print them with a standard printer if I buy the pdf. In other words will I be happy with the pdf purchase or angry as all hell and considering 5.0.
