[MYTHIC PLAYTEST] So cold
The appetiser
The last puffs of the storm that saved you blows past you as you once again stand on the western bank of the Marbleflow River where is washes out into Glacier Lake. Before you lies your gear, your captures thankfully brought it a long to sell.
Somehow you were captured and on your way to Whitethrone as the newest slaves to the capital of Irrisen.
That is not important anymore. Now you and the few others that survived stand in the middle of Irrisen and need to decide what to do? All you have is each other.
Character selection
Character selection will be based on two parameters. First does your character capture me, can I really have a game without them? Second will they shed light on different aspects of the Mythic rules, e.g. I am not choosing 5 archmages.
I'll choose 4-5 characters.
Stats: 15 pt. buy
Level: 5
Mythic tier: 2
Races: Core races only, no exceptions.
Classes: Core classes only, no exceptions.
Traits: 2, feel free to reflavour within reason, but they must be incorporate into your background.
Wealth: 10500 gp, max. half on one item.
Background: Length does not matter.
Alias: For application I would like a link to an alias, you do not have to post with it I just need the link.
Guns: No.
Alignment: In principal free, but I want a good explanation for an evil alignment and I do not want it to disturb the party coherency.
I expect you to try and post once a day, but understand that sometimes you won’t be able to. If we need to move on I will gmpc your character.

@ TarkXT - See the additions described below. Let me know if there is something I haven't answered
@Harakani - I must say a Jadwiga wasn't what I had in mind when I planned this adventure. With good background it might become an option. I would certainly need you to answer why one of the ruling class was arrested, where, who arrested, who sentenced. More questions might come.
@Higgledy Piggledy - Let me know when you're done.
Additions to character creation rules
You are allowed to used archetypes, feats, traits from core + apg + ultimate combat and magic

Joran Benmoir |

Here is Joran Benmoir (pronounced Ben-mwah)
Things I still have to do: spend 808 gp on equipment, determine hit points (these were rolled in another thread).
Comments, suggestions, corrections?
One of the things I don't like is that he's been a bit of a loner so far, so he hasn't had a chance to use most of his marshall abilities. Perhaps other dwarves joined him on his quest to liberate the Foundry?

Cool beans! Thanks for clarifying.

@ Joran - I'll take a more thorough look later on but it seems like a good submission. I haven't checked the crunch much, I was more interested in your characters background.
@ TarkXT - I fine idea, I am looking towards reading the background. I never read or played a Tien character. Would it be possible not to have it to oriental, I am like my fantasy a little traditional.
@ Harakai - As with Joran I only skimmed over the background and it seems fine. I get back to all of you when I have looked in detail.
All submissions, please remeber to include how you ended up an irrisen captive.

Well if it's traditional you want I can always make an albino blackblade magus who calls upon ancient lords of Chaos with a tragic and terrible past that involves more than a few dead friends, a wasting empire, and forgotten dieties so archaic as there names cannot be spoken by human tongues.
But blech, fine. :P
It's possible to change the location and make the character Chelish instead. Unfortunately given the hoices alaready made a Kurisaigama is still a Kurisaigama.

Big OM |

@ Tarkxt - I was looking for a more subtle change. perhaps your character spent much of his life in Avistan or was born in on of the Tien settlements here. Just to soften the cultural difference.
@ Harakani - Sure nothing is set in stone yet and the option is in the allowed material.
@Hawkwen - When your ascention occurs is in principal up to you, but I would prefer your character to have ascended somewhere around 2 level in this campaign, again not a hard demand a suggestion, 1-3 level is fine.

Okay, looking over the marshal again, I noticed most of the marshal's group abilities only applied to nonmythic allies, so I think its really intended for someone with leadership or who summons creatures with spells.
Joran is more of a loner focused on survival in extreme conditions, so I think a champion might be a better fitting mythic style. And leave the marshal for a bard or someone else with social skills already. (and a Charisma bonus at least)
So, I'm going to switch out marshal, and instead take champion (final), losing the following abilities:
Greater Power
Rally
Rise Up
and gaining the following Champion abilities:
Aerial Assault
Sudden Attack
To the Death

The cultural difference s sort of what I was looking for. Not necessarily oriental but certainly a stranger in a strange land running away from the past. Easy enough to place such a character in Irissen since it's pretty damn far away from practically everyone else of matter. But I think it'll make more since once I sit down and drop the backstory.

Actually Irrisen is near Tien, seperated by the Crown of the World.

Lets do a status so far.
The submissions:
Joran Benmoir a Rouge-Champion from Stardust
Elantier Silverleaf a Ragner-Trickster from Hawken Agricola
Iona Liaan a Cleric-Hierophant from Sigz
Zorariel a Wizard-Archmage from Harakani
And TrakXT might submit a Tien Monk, more to follow.
Let me know if I missed something.
From what I see we're quite close to a party. TrakXT How far are you with your character?

Big OM |

@ Hawken - Fine background. I'm not planning on using that many demons, you're free to change things around in your character, I not asking you to but just letting you know. You can only gain one trait bonus to initiative, so change one of your traits. Would you apply your template.
@ Sigz - I'm looking towards you background.
@ Gilthanis - Write up a background.
@ Joshua - A background and I'll take a look.

Joshua Hirtz |

Kallak is of Ulfen descent and hails from the Land of the Linnorm Kings. Within his homeland, he is well known for his indomitable spirit, massive strength, and ability to take seemingly endless amounts of abuse. Seeing greatness in his son, Kallak was sent South by his father so that he might gain knowledge of the world and test his mettle when faced with the temptations and atrocities that abound there.
With respect for his father's wishes, Kallak journeyed to the South where he spent his time learning what he could while making a living as a bodygaurd serving those he found honorable and trustworthy. Unfortunately, the lessons of the lands below came hard to Kallak and on one fateful night, he was betrayed by a man he had sworn to protect.
Seeing the strength in Kallak, and the chance for gain, a man of ill-intent tricked Kallak into thinking him a man of honor and hired Kallak on as a gaurd for his trading caravan. Unfortunately for Kallak, the man's next destination was to drop Kallak off to some slavers after slowly poisoning him along the journey.
Sorry, not the best writing, but it gives a pretty good idea of what I've got planned as his background. Let me know what you think.

Going with the Tien background. Let me know if it works or not.
Across the crown of the world the jade regent ruled an illegitimate but ultimately orderly tyranny in the distant nation of Minkai. Though an undoubtedly evil rule it still required its daily functionaries, inquisitor's and, yes, legitimate guardsmen to fulfill the role of enforcing those laws both oppressive and necessary to ensure that the nation continued to function.
Hakiro was one of those guardsmen who had the misfortune of being a symbol of the totalitarian authority at a time when it was not only unpopular but overthrown by some upstart conquering hero. With angry mobs looking to vent nearly a century of frustration on anything resembling the old authority the normally reasonable and non-trouble seeking Hakiro found himself fleeing for his life from stone hurling mobs and groups of rebels eager to string up anyone who once took pay from a terrible tyrant.
And thus after a great deal of fleeing for his life Hakiro found himself far from home with no money, no friends, and far from his family ina land where the men were hairy, huge, rude and incredibly foul smelling. The lands of the linnorm kings, it's cold loneliness, free flowing alcohol and privacy respecting people seemed a decent place as any for
a man trying to run away from a past to stay.
Hakiro is embittered, a soldier without a general from a country that he swore to protect from the very invaders that drove his own people to hurl stones at him. Driven deeper and deeper into alcoholism and cage fights as some exotic attraction it was only a matter of time where he fell in too deep and some opportunistic slaver simply dragged him away to Irissen.

Ever since I read the Mythic rules, I envisioned a frontliner Paladin tankish type -> I think this guy would be the pinnacle of the heroic warrior that I have imagined since I started playing roleplaying games :D
I am quite pressed for time, and I haven't yet dissected the Mythic playtest rules, so probably won't be able to post the character before tonight, but I would like to be considered for this.
The concept will be your basic frontliner tank -> In terms of mechanics, I am split between a Paladin and a crazy combo of Fighter (Lore Warden) 3/ Monk (Monk of the Four Winds / Monk of the Sacred Mountain) 2 that I have come across before and believe to work to great efficiency, while honestly providing fun alternatives to play with, as well as meeting the "sticky tank" role quite well :D
Let me know if this is a role that would be useful for the group, but in any case I will do my best to have it set up tonight - I will even attempt to post both of them since the actual "role" logic is very similar.
