the Great Old One |
Sorry for the delay folks between vacation my birthday and other unexpected happenings I could not update. Update now!
the Great Old One |
Let's do a vote yay or nay for a press conference the next day here in the Discussion thread, Meeley has the contacts to make it happen with or without the approval of Starkweather or Moore. :-)
Those votes will direct how I handle the next day post.
I dropped about 12 games I play i so that should allow me to start posting more regularly for this game!
the Great Old One |
Yep sucks to drop games but my work schedule is just too heavy along with life in general to juggle 40 games at once...
I am stuck at O'Hare right now so no updates till tomorrow. I think enough of you have voted for a presser so that'll be fun. The adventure does not contemplate it! ;-) the one thing it did not forsee!
the Great Old One |
40 games! I would never be able to keep all of that straight. Also I have learned that the player will always pick the unprepared option. Always.
That's why I had to drop it to 28.
The really hard thing to do is juggle 60 client matters at work, especially when they are not nearly as interesting as PbP games, I wish I could drop 12 of those! :-)
Indeed... players always think outside of the box, or in this case, book.
Super nice day out, I am hitting the pool for heavy duty reading. I will update I/C tonight. Sorry for the delay the last few days, I had a terrible trip home Thursday and two super busy days in a row.
the Great Old One |
Remember +'s and -'s do not apply to the rolls themselves but to the static score you possess in that skill.
So a 50 spot hidden skill with a -20 to the check effectively gives you a 30 spot hidden.
the Great Old One |
Once I get an idea if anyone else is approaching Starkweather and Moore I can post for that scene then we'll move to the presser and I'll reveal more information about the successful rolls made as well as the rolls to come! :-)
the Great Old One |
I'll give one more day to see if anyone else wants to approach Starkweather then I'll update! :-)
EDIT: I was waiting on Reginald but it appears he has not been on the boards for a few weeks now. I will move forward tonight instead.
the Great Old One |
I will not be re re-recruiting for this campaign. If Reginald surfaces that is fine if he does not, we will stick with 6 players.
The thread is now updated.
Storyteller Shadow |
FYI, I will be off of the boards on Wednesday and likely Thursday due to my daughters impending surgery. Likely I will be distracted with hospital visit and aftercare those days.
the Great Old One |
Note that the presser scene takes place at 10 am while Dr. Roman, Arnault and Stanley have reached 1 pm by the time their research is complete. If Alphonso does not check in by Tuesday I will move that scene forward so that the group can reconvene by the end of the week real time and decide what to do next.
the Great Old One |
Now that the band is back together, the rest of the adventure you will all likely stay that way unless events force you apart from one another. It will make things go more smoothly! :-)
the Great Old One |
Sorry for the delay there guys. Dr. Roman has stepped away from the game so it will be up to Arnault to inform the group of what he and the good Dr. learned. However, as Arnault has a relative newborn his posting is slow. To speed things up, I will post the information as well as an exit for Dr. Roman.
I will not be recruiting further for this game as the turnover since the beginning of so many players has bogged it down badly.
The roster as it stands is:
Alphonso, Arnault, Meeley, Phoebe, and Stanley.
Having fewer players should speed thing sup as no one will be "waiting" for anyone else to post including me! As I noted above, you will now be staying together for the remainder of the adventure, at least for the forseeable future.
I am going to have some of the NPC's take care of something that the characters would have done. However, with the mix of characters remaining, only Meeley would probably be suited for the scene. Doing so will get us moving right to the ship setting sail.
Let's RP the remainder of this scene and then mid-week this week we will finally get going on to the high seas!
the Great Old One |
This is the game of wall text. I will get a response up later today. Maybe after a nap since sleep was not a good companion earlier.
This is indeed the game of wall text (as evidenced by my updated posts tonight)! This is one of the most detailed modules in the history of RPG I believe. In fact I doubt anything so intricate could even be published these days.
We may have lost Arnault. At this point, with 4 players, I will march forward. That will speed things up a bit I think.
If you need some guidance as to what to do next, ask me OOC.
Stanley Chastain |
I could do with a hintnew information for something beyond just discussing the , I think. Also, do you remember if I actually got the gun from Seamus in exchange for a favor or if that was just a plan that dropped through the cracks? Seems like a good time to have one <.<
By the way, I'm quite enjoying things so far. As a first experience of CoC this is proving quite intriguing!
Storyteller Shadow |
Between a busy work week and trying to find a new place to live I have been quite busy this week. I will update as soon as I am able.
Storyteller Shadow |
FYI, I will be packing and moving and then unpacking again over the next 35 - 40 days so if I have intermittent unexplained absences from the boards this is why.

Seamus and other PC/NPCs will be handling things off screen which before the ship sets sail you will learn about. I did not want to spend time mired in those issues with no PC who had specific skills sets needed to deal with those issues. Of the characters, only Meeley would be interested in such an endeavor :-)
Yes, you did get the gun.
This is a large endeavor on Table Top much less PbP. Glad you are enjoying it!
the Great Old One |
I get distracted and lost quiet easily but this has been fun thus far. My friends are still convinced that CoC will only end in madness and refuse to join me but I never listen anyways.
Yeah well, they're probably right but its the ride not the destination that is the fun part! :-)
the Great Old One |
I'm still here! Just been a little swamped and running out of steam each night before I get to pbp's. I've been trying contact lenses for the first time, they're great during the day but by the time the kids are all in bed I'm having trouble focusing on a screen...
No worries, just wanted to make sure you were still on board.
the Great Old One |
Note that the campaign info tab has many of the documents you received for ease of reference.
Storyteller Shadow |
Due to my ridiculous schedule which will only get worse for the next few weeks, I am putting the game on hiatus until Monday October 3rd. Then I will be settled and work should ease up so I can post on the regular again thereafter.
the Great Old One |
Hey guys. I will be updating the thread either tomorrow night or Friday night. Still trying to get the house in order and my time to post will be till then limited as a result.
the Great Old One |
If you think there is anything else you can get on Sothcott, go ahead and ask. If not feel free to respond to the last set of questions and we can move along to the next scene :-)
the Great Old One |
I need my book for the next scene, will update the thread probably Friday as I won't have time tonight or tomorrow I think.
