Thanks Nasira for posting that!

Maelchar creates a hammer enchanting it to hit harder while the normally dangerous Morgrym swings twice but finds that his blows simply pass right through the undead shades without harming them.

Nasira though smiles as she unleashes the power of her goddess as positive energy courses over 2 of them.

Both Garith and Zeriax are able to find a weak spot in the spectres form as it is hit by blade and arrow. Even though it seems that the strikes were perfect in placement the elusive nature of the shadows meant that the crippling damage normally done by such precision is wasted on them. Immune to cirtical hits. Although I will take Zeriax's confirmation roll as his 3rd attack to make that a hit as well.

The spectre's form partially disappears as pieces of it are returned to the plane of shadow from which this creature partially resides.

The spectres swarm forward hungry for move living flesh as it seems the paladin is easily susceptible to their hunger.

Although 2 of the spectres wre spared the brunt of the positive force the newly arrived one was not prepared fro such energy and took the full blast. The severly injured one in the middle sways there momentarily and Garith takes full opportunity to cut if down leaving just the outer 2 remaining. the spectre to the south is slightly worse off but still over half health.

Zeriax does indeed hit all three times causing half the spectre to fade away. Maelchar hits it as well leaving it vulnerable to Morgrym's finally enchanted weapon. He takes it out with his single successful hit leaving only a single spectre left.

The last spectre reaches out for Garith once again hoping to suck more of his life force from him before it too expires back to the death with it so longs for yet is tormented by.

With the spectres eliminated the party is able to advance further into the jail cells. Cells line the walls on the north and south and you can see that there is a room that is barred on the far east end. Halfway down the hall though a set of double doors across from each other lead north and south. The northern doors are slightly a jar allowing one to peek in and see that at least a 20x30ft room is beyond.

Pondering which way to go, "Hm. Since the northern door is partially open, let's see what's behind it." Morgrym moves in that direction and pushes the northern door all the way open - grabbing his hammer solidly with both hands as he looks within.

Two large prison cells flank this large interrogation chamber. The entryway to each cell is lined with multiple layers of arcane sigils scribed into the floor, lintels, and even the barred door. While the symbols around the western cell door glow with red light, those to the east do not and its prison door hangs open.

The symbols are those used in the prevention of magic and are powerful abjurations designed to halt any and all magic beyond that area. Basically the cells are warded by an anti magic field and you would guess that the sell to west is occupied.

The barred door can be released from this side easily freeing whoever or whatever is on the other side of it. The door is solid so no being able to see through it.

Nasira I forgot to mention this I think but go ahead and assume that diamond dust is available. Other costly reagents and expensive focus are not though. Diamond dust is common enough of a reagent that you could find some in the loot.

So'rien looks forward, he is somewhat ragged and says tiredly Maelchar, you have no idea how apt that description is. So'rien's once incredibly handsome face has been pinched in and the features squished together as if they have regressed to a time when he was a toddler. You still feel the same radiating magical strength as he steps out, but it is tinged with a vileness reminiscent of your dealings with devils. First, I need my things, they are in that chest over there. he says pointing to a small chest hidden along the wall as you came in. Next did you see the other prisoner anywhere. I believe he managed to escape. In addition, there are some other things you need to know. There is a vampire and it's spawn somewhere in the jail here and there is a secret door to the west that leads further into the dungeon as well as some strange lizard creatures and a being of shadow. I have not seen it myself but heard my captors talking about it.

Popping out behind him you see a small dragon with gossamer wings that has the same sort of deformity to it's face. It leaps up onto So'rien's shoulder and perches there looking down at you. Master are these friends or foes. Shall I slay them? Which comes out quite comical from this tiny dragon no bigger than a house cat with the face of a hatchling of it's kind. It is a Faerie Dragon.

In that case, a retcon after the battle with the spectres, if I may: Nasira will try to diagnose Garith's injuries from the undead and, if she can determine that he has been temporarily drained of life force, she will use some of that diamond dust to cast restoration unless Garith asks that she not do so.
