Of the buff list here, besides what is on the permanency list(Greater magic Fang, See invisibility, tongues) - what can be made permanent.
This is mainly to help the survive in Golarion.

I updated the buff list with shield of faith and shield on it and changed the values to CL 20 - was assuming CL 17 on buffs. Changed the listing of some spells(like life bubble and see invisibility - since life bubble is h/level and see invisibility was made permanent).
With CL 20 Magic Vestment, I think everyone is better off wearing a haramaki enhanced with it/clothes

Great, I forgot to put greater angelic aspect on that list. I'll fix that when I get to office.
About asking ES. Firstly, I didn't really ask anyone about what they felt about the whole thing, since as players you're supposed to make your own decisions, then face the consequences for them.
Going to the layer called Heaven might have endangered everyone-so everyone gets to call vote. What I did affected me only, so it's really my decision, it doesn't need to be put to a vote. I did not ask Iya-iya, Quiet Gazer or Mope, either. I asked someone else because it is a promise I made to her, so she has a stake in this.
Next - ES is a tad...alien. I'd say they are somewhat like these. Asking them to vote - they might not care, or their comments might be vague.

Tacticslion |

Yeah that's about correct. XD
Also, it's worth noting: oh, snap!
I went to bed and wiped out last night/this morning, woke up after an hour and a half, went to church to work with the toddlers (fortunately we only had two today and they were both little sweet hearts), ate lunch with family, wiped out in bed again for three hours, played a family board game (my Eldest has been asking for us to play my birthday present since we got it and this was really the first chance), and are getting ready for kids' bed now (it'll be ~20-30 minutes, but, you know, starting the process), and then bed time for kids, then play time for adults (maybe even concluding our Kingmaker game!) and then collapse.
So... probably not going to be active today? Sorry! XD
(Also sorry about posting so late - it's been a busy, busy day...)

Inarus |

Tacticslion |

it's cool, I was trying to figure out why you were staying up so late the last couple of days, but I didn't want to ask.
Kingmaker, mostly.
We haven't played each night - as it turns out, I have the ability to hammer the AP hard enough that the GM has to put in enough mental prep that she needs break nights - but we're also both super-nocturnal by nature, soooooo...
And now; to TKD!

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Kingmaker is one AP I wouldn't play - too much maths involved in kingdom building. I signed up to play dungeons and dragons, not auditors and accountants.
Maths is the bad word that eats the thoughts out of your brain!
Considering my GM is a maths tutor, maybe that wasn't the best thing to say...
But I'll say in my defense all of us are wired differently. Some of us can draw and sing, I can't do either.
Besides maths brings back bad memories. No one ever passes the maths tests that the school sets (unless you really have inherent mathematical talent - I don't).

Tacticslion |

Hah!
Depends entirely on how you play, in that AP.
If you're aiming for "King" and you want to succeed ignore me, and get the best daggum charisma-cum-diplomacy you possibly daggum can. Technically not important, but, secretly super-important. If you want to do even better, marry, as the royal spouse, so one else who has a super-high charisma. Everyone else in the party should have very different high ability scores, though - the kingdom and adventures both require that. If you're running a solo version of that game, strength and charisma would prooooobably be the two highest, with dexterity being a solid third - you want constitution and intelligence and wisdom of course, but you can kind of fake those with enough preparation, caution, and magic items (and money, naturally).
So, obviously, the best class to solo that game is a wizard...
Not even joking (though obviously said with humor): crafting is super powerful in that game. You will struggle very hard with the first few levels, and need to rely on hirelings or your other team mates. For everything else, there's crafting wizard.
As for math, it can be math-y, but that's not really a bad thing, and you are too worried about it, honestly. It's not that bad. My one frustration with the thing so that it seems to presume the PCs will grab every scrap of land they possibly can as fast as they can with little to no direct benefit for themselves because of "reasons" and will not care how dangerous that expansion is to the health and wellbeing of their kingdom. Either that, or they expect the PCs to be super-powerful gods-like characters who can do the impossible, or they expect decades to pass (game-time) within it. Or that you seriously "cheese" the system - that's a possibility, too (though even then you'll either need a slow expansion of a strange one). None of those are inherently bad, of course, but it is a little unbalanced.
Also, I'm currently awake. Mmph. What unholy horror is this? Seven thirty - BAB, a time of evil! I have a guy to see about fixing my dishwashing machine, and I have TKD, and I have two kids to care for all day, and three (including my own) haircuts to get, and so on and likely won't have much time today. Though I also have TKD tomorrow, I should have more time... I'm working on getting back into the groove of "real life" as my wife has started up at work again (my Eldest will start school next week). Mrph. Why does reality work on such odd/wrong hours?! The day-star, it buuurrrrnnnsssss...!! Hissssss-!!

I'm a morning person =) I'm happy in the mornings, less so when its late at night. Past midnight, I'm a grouch.

Tacticslion |

For me it's the opposite. XD
I normally grump around in the mornings, because no matter when I go to sleep Indint reeeaaaallly wake up until ~11:30 AM. I can fake it well, some mornings, but I'm not as alert or good-natured without intense willpower.

Tacticslion |

Holy carp, you guys.
So a quick update: my Eldest has a birthday party tomorrow, I'm going insane trying to prep my house for 12 people we don't normally have here and my Eldest's looming school starting up again on Tuesday (1st Grade - woo!), and then it's Sunday which is always a toss-up.
Not to mention that my dishwasher is dead and I've been informed (after a couple of days) that it's not going to be repaired for most of a week, so, now I've got to scrub, scrub, scrub!
>XI
Sorry! I'm definitely not going to be updating tonight, probably not tomorrow, and possibly not on Sunday. Lord willing, Monday.
Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh-
Sorry! Again!

You have a dishwasher? Geez, it consumes a s&$$load of electricity. Not environmentally friendly.
Sorry, here, it's old school, you SCRUB EVERYTHING. Shucks to be you.
I have an idea. Your eldest is 5, right? If there is stuff that isn't breakable, introduce him to the joys of DISHWASHING!
It helps build character ;-)
Nah, on a more serious note, it might actually be fun for him - I saw my nephew wiping the floor with the mop (he found it fun).
Besides I think it's educational for him to learn what you need to do if your dishwasher doesn't work.

not environmentally friendly... I don't know how to respond to that. The good news is I don't have an electric dish washer so I won't get a lecture. I want one, but don't have room in the kitchen, and the next house I buy will have one. But the good news is I don't get a lecture today!
Sorry about you luck TL, but so she doesn't yell at me too: bad TL evil dish washers.... make the toddler wash them.... wow I don't wash dishes with out breaking one every now and then. and we supposedly have unbreakable dishes...
Hey take your time TL, we'll see ya Monday!

Well there's this article, but I'm not so sure how applicable it is in Asia - since we don't use heaters for our tap water.

HOLY CARP, GUYS, I DIDN'T KNOW MY POST WAS NEVER SUBMITTED!
I'M SO SORRY!
I kind of thought you guys were just busy!
Ugh!
I had a whole set of things typed out and (I thought) submitted, but apparently not!
Aaaaarrrrrrrrggggggh~!
Okay, I'll try to get one up now-ish...!
:(

Inarus |

Nah we were being polite. Besides I was busy at work(still am) and in ROW so I didn't poke around either.

GM Tacticslion |

Okay, in an effort to post more quickly, I've taken a step back from posting as much as I (thought I'd) done before.
That said, I'd tried to mention several things previously:
- my lack of internet (turns out lightning had struck something nearby and fried our system)
- my business with life
- that I was working out a large number of future scenarios
To that end, I have my basic notes and, having run lots and lots and lots of numbers, earlier, use that to guide the results of your decisions. I apologize that my previous work was destroyed and I didn't recognize it.
Uuuuugggghhhhh. I'm so sorry, you two.
Anyway, thank you for your patience.

It's OK. I was playing 5e(we ended up in Strahd - Oras Nou - it's Ravenloft ), last night.
War domain archer cleric, yes I heard it's not optimized, I wanted to do a variant human fighter with crossbow expert and sharpshooter(at 4), but we're locked in this place so no new characters can brought in.
Somehow a horror module without a cleric sounds like a bad idea to me, and for some reason the locals here don't like playing Clerics.

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I've got a plethora of Clerics at this point of time.
Immariel, my woodelf(supposedly caster) arcana domain cleric geerally spends her first combat round blessing the party before taking her place beside the paladin on the front lines sticking things with her rapier.
Larryn(my character that went to Strahd) was supposed to be a variant human fighter with archery fighting style, but went war domain cleric as a compromise. Didn't care for Gothic horror without ability to get Condition removal. He's mercenary as fk and asks for moolah before getting moving. As a homage to his original build plans, he's still an archer.
Nevyrn(variant human) is my life domain cleric is a walking tin can with chain mail and a shield and a big stick(quarterstaff). Which he calls the stick of subrogation, because he's been thwacks stubborn heads with it. He walks in front of the party, making himself a target enemies cannot ignore. Try Polearm master - walk into my reach and it's an AOO. Also I get to attack twice a round because of Polearm master too

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I am hoping someday I'll get to get to Larryns original build to machine gun a crossbow.
5e has a distinct lack of control spells, colorspray has been nerfed badly, sure, sleep is waay more powerful, but also random as you have to roll dice. Since most of the wizard spells were for evocation, I decided not to roll a wizard.

I don’t think so…cats are aloof, independent minded, mysterious, sneaky and have a mean streak. Cats can be lazy too.
You on the other hand…decide the best way to start a fight is to wade in in the heaviest armor you can find and start thwacking stuff.

The last time you did it, you got thunderbolted. I recommend learn from that lesson.
Also I will need a while to respond to your post, since I need to talk to the elementals, deal with how I feel about falling around in a slide, then finally decide the direction we should go. towards Shuuvu

Also sorry, TL, but too long on break and I sort of forget how Inarus feels like and I need some time to sync back in for longer posts.
Don't worry, I'd say I'm pretty incorruptible. I've looked at simulacrum and come out with my sanity intact still =)

I am assuming that having rested, Usawoti's HP maxed back out. I need to look at his spells and see if I need to switch any of them. Mope do you have any recommendations?
Also, did you work with your worshipers long enough for any of them to develop their natural skills/weapons or to gain any levels in anything?

Tacticslion |

Also sorry, TL, but too long on break and I sort of forget how Inarus feels like and I need some time to sync back in for longer posts.
No problem at all! I'm so sorry that there was such a long break! I just... it's my fault, but I somehow got the idea that I'd updated it all. I'm so sorry!

Are you going for any belts yet? Or if you have belts what colour are they?
*paws at belts*

Tacticslion |

Hah!
I've gotten: white (everyone starts here), yellow (the, "congratulations, you're no longer a white belt!" belt), orange, green, and now purple.
Next is light blue belt, and then dark blue belt, then brown, then red.
Each comes with up to five "tapes" (literally a strip of colored tape) you can earn (and must earn before your next belt), each of which represents a basic competency:
- yellow: basic movements for your current belt in a straightforward, repetitive pattern
- green: a particular poomse (or "form" - a pattern of moves you follow)
- red: a combination of kicks (usually a set of two)
- brown: an oral test (some aspect of Korean - some greetings/thanks/farewells, some numbers, some names of moves)
As a humorous aside, recently it was difficult to recall the English name of a kick I was trying to perform. Dang it! >.<
- blue: breaking technique (that must be adequately demonstrated on boards in order to pass)
