Unless he can tell what that is by smell then he's going to ignore it.

Hanz's eyes sparkle like a child as he beholds the festival grounds. Pretty colors, wondrous sounds, and lots of things to do. Though he still walks near the caravan, he is no longer paying any attention to it as he stands on the tips of his toes to see all the fun that is available. The puppeteers draw his attention the most. It is obvious he would rather stay and watch and play rather than head home right now.

Did we lvl?

Throg proceeds to let out a long sigh of relief as they separate from the survivors of the other caravan. Before making sure his Silver Shields armband is clearly visible and smiling at Hanz Heading toward the puppet show. Turning toward the others he says

I would prefer if I could travel with one of you guys less chance of any unfortunate issues. Though I can probably manage to travel on my own if it would be a bother. We can probably pick up work back to base after its over and this town seems like a wonderful diversion during the Festival don't you think.

Male Tiefling Magus (inactive)

I think it would be a good idea to tag along with another caravan to get back home

"This festival looks like a good bit of fun."
"I think I'll give the archery competition a go."
"Never hurts to get a bit of practice in with that."

Visruþ does have talent by way of good DEX. So, why not?

"I think I will join you Visrub, always up for some friendly competition"

Hunter 2 HP 18/18 Init +7, Perception +8, AC 18, Longbow +6, Longsword +3

Keeps the cat close to her as she slinks around, taking in the simple fact of all the people. She was unsure she would ever get used to this many people. However, her companions mention various games, and she offers " Why do we not all try to hit targets? Practice is fun and helps make you better hunter."

Hanz patiently fidgets while the others come to a decision about whether they wish to go or stay. As agreement swings towards the latter he smiles brightly and runs off to watch the puppets with child-like wonder and excitement. He very nearly sits at the front of the group but remembers his height. He opts to sit back near the adults, blocking only the shortest of them but still being tall enough to see over the other kids.

Sorry for the delays.

The archery competition's line is long but fairly quick moving, while waiting in line A young woman (or young man depending on if you are in the east line or west line) came by with a paper for signing in. They explained the rules. There are three targets placed in the lane at three distances. Hitting the closest target earns you 1 point, bullseyeing the closest target is worth 3 points.
The second target is worth 3 points for a hit, 5 for a bullseye, and the final target is worth 5 points a hit, 10 for a bullseye.

You have 4 arrows to shoot at any target you want. There is however also a sling competition and a crossbow competition. The entrance fee for each competition is 1 silver peice.

Target 1's AC is 10, a total of 15 or more will be a bullseye
Target 2's AC is 15, a total of 20 or more will be a bullseye
Target 3's AC is 20, a total of 25 or more will count for a bullseye Also Target 3 counts as 1 range increment away, so factor in a -2 to hit if you choose to aim at it. Also, if you are not profiecient add that in too :) Good luck!

Hanz, to your delight the play though ending starts up again after a short interlude, A couple of vendors hawking hot meat pies and ales and just a few copper, you had a delightful little snack as the show started again.

It was a good story, about a boy and his dog, finding a magic treasure that could save his father from his sickness... and for a very breif moment, when the monsterous skeleton men tried to stop him you almost forgot to breathe... but thankfully the boys dog was able to save the day by grabbing ahold of the master skeleton's leg bone and dragging it offstage making him collapse. . .

Inil will go for the cross bow competition and put all 4 shots into the target 2.

Shoot 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5 just in case you want it as well

Shoot 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Shoot 3: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Shoot 4: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

.....I am really glad we did not fight anything on our way if I roll like that XD

Male Tiefling Magus (inactive)

Visruþ will have a go at the first target:

bow shot 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
bow shot 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
bow shot 3: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
bow shot 4: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

"Well, those could've been better!"
"I'll clearly need some practice in future!"

Taking a shot at things Kelisa?

Hunter 2 HP 18/18 Init +7, Perception +8, AC 18, Longbow +6, Longsword +3

Struggled to understand how the contest went until seeing some of her partners go, then she made her shots.
I've blanked the last day on checking my stuff. Also, is range increment the same for long bows or is that just short bows, since they have different ranges?

shooting 3rd target with all four: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 2 = 23
2nd shot: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 2 = 19
3rd shot: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 2 = 21
4th shot: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 2 = 5

Male Tiefling Magus (inactive)

"Nice shooting, Kelisa!"

Nothing to add. Still watching unless that was the end of the show.

gm rolls:

champion: 4d20 ⇒ (12, 6, 7, 19) = 44
hunter: 4d20 ⇒ (1, 3, 17, 17) = 38
random sob: 4d20 ⇒ (18, 13, 1, 4) = 36

There is some cheering and grumbling amongst the crowds watching the different competitions amongst the ranged crowds. Its strange to you Kelisa, you are acutely aware of the stares directed torwards you and you only recieved a smattering of applause for your excellent shots, in the end Kelisa you were awarded 2nd place in the contest and given a purse of 40 silver peices plus a silvered trophy arrow.

Just as the archery, crossbow, and sling competition ended you could hear a gong sound coming from the far end of the fair grounds, a crier running by about the food competiton about to start . . .

Appraise check if you want to possible sell it later

Hanz the play went on for a bit more, though after the skeleton battle it was mostly just a feel good story about the boy making it home able to save his father from sickness. You could sense there was a point to the story... like a morale or something but it was just beyond your grasp. As the play ended you could hear a gonging sound coming from the far end of the fair grounds... a crier ran by about the food competition being about to start...

"Well done, Kelisa. I definitely need more practice with the bow!"

Hunter 2 HP 18/18 Init +7, Perception +8, AC 18, Longbow +6, Longsword +3

Grins widely with her trophies, including the actual trophy, and says " Vis, you must be one with your shot. No hunter an always make the same shot twice on the same animal. It was the Goddess of the animals guiding me"

paging Inil... still about? also you folks heading torwards the food competition or no?

sorry was distracted last few days

"I think I will keep to my magics in the future if my aim is anything to go by, but congratulations Kelisa, you shot marvelously."

Inil will proceed to just wander around the place checking out stalls and so on before eventually turning in.

Hanz claps loud enough to be heard above nearly all the others as the play ends. The play niggled at a memory a long time ago about something that started with a 'p'. Per- Perspect- no. Per-something. It was a big word. A hard word. His paw was good at breaking them down. Still there was plenty in the story about bravery, courage, and loyalty. He knew those words well enough.

"Food?" he mumbles, hearing the crier. He stands and follows his nose and ears through the crowd, pardoning his way through. Food was good. A food competition sounded even better. He approaches the crier, saying simply, "I like food."

Hunter 2 HP 18/18 Init +7, Perception +8, AC 18, Longbow +6, Longsword +3

Knew nothing about an eating competition, and figured it was like a feast. If it was not a feast she was really unsure what it was for, but would check it out. She would await and find out what it was for and more of the details before she pitted herself in it, especially once she saw that Hanz was there. She would not hog all the glory for herself

As those who chose to check out the food stalls near the edge of the fairgrounds neared you could see a funny looking fellow in a strange big poofy hat gazing over the crowd ... he chuckled in excitement and pointed within a few moments a young man approached you Hanz, and You Kelisa asking if you wanted to be one of the panel of judges for the competition.

"Do I get to eat?" Hanz asks. Because that was the most important question to him at this point. A food competition must involve eating. What else were you to do with food?

"well yes of course, thats the thing, you try all the dishes and decide which one you like best!"

The young man answered looking at the giant sized fellow almost quizically.

Inil has currently turned in for the night

Thinks about this, her puzzlement obvious over tasting dishes. But after a few moments she nods. " So it is tasting different tribes hunts? Different hunts would be wonderful to taste." She rubs Untari's head, and you can tell the big cat is amused by his Mistress actions.

Hanz thinks for a long silent moment before responding with a smile, "Okay."
