Seeing as everyone acted in round 2 and the goblin/octopi made their strength checks, I'll post my next action for round 3 in advance

Poseus moves closer towards the others, coming up just behind Dieredon.
As he sees the strange creatures, Poseus shakes his head in disbelief talking and mumbling to himself rather than asking a question.
"I've never seen such creatures. What are they?"
Readying his spear firmly in his hands he says to Dieredon, Wiscara and Chance
"We've got your back now, let's see if they still want to fight"

Mechanics wise: take a move action and a 5-foot step, readied a standard action to strike whenever one comes near enough.
Would have liked to throw a spear, though that is listed as a full-round action, being two-handed and all

@Poseus: I believe that throwning your spear is a Standard Action...you may want to restate your 3rd Round attack.

Dieredon effortlessly moves into a flanking position with Welkin and attacks an untangled foe.

@Dieredon, I thought so myself as well, so I looked it up, says throwing a two-handed weapon is full-round action, as a spear is a two-handed weapon. Though it was a bit unclear if this was for just Throwing anything that can't normally be used as a thrown weapon.

If the throwing is standard action.
Spear Throw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 if the nearest unentangled enemy is beyond my range increment of 20 it is -2
Spear Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

If not, I'll keep my first post

Mechanics: Move 30 ft and throw a spear at nearest unentangled and not in melee foe. Quick Draw my next spear to be armed.

Round 3

Phineas continues moving behind Poseus approaching the lighted area where melee is occuring. As Poseus stops to launch his weapon at the monstrosities, Phineas stops alongside and holds up his raven holy symbol, invoking his god Mithras. "Mithras the Protector, give your blessing to these friends of Good in their fight against these beasts. Let them feel your power and protection."

Move Action - move 30ft to position near/behind the rest of the battle.
Standard Action - Cast Bless, which gives all allies within 50' radius of caster +1 on attack rolls and saving throws for 1 minute.

during round 2, Dieredon slays another monster (for a total of 2 killed so far, and 2 remain), Wescara throws a spear into the swamp, Welkin manages to bite another monster for 2 points of damage, and three of five monsters break free from the Entanglement Spell. As round 3 begins…

Dieredon and Welkin manage to maneuver one of the monsters (the one that has been bitten) between them, and with the advantage, Dieredon easily dispatches the monster with a slash of the large Elven Blade.

From the edge of the light a spear sails across the air. As a monster scrambles to get out of the spell’s reach it is struck by the spear and it falls lifeless back into the water.

Phineas voice is heard clear and loud across the sounds of plants snapping and water splashing. He calls forth a powerful Blessing on all of his friends.

The last of the first monsters to get out of the water lunges at Welkin, attacking with a spear, using both hands

Welkin

Calex and Poseus are just a few steps behind them (10’), due to their hesitation in deciding on what to do, but, in this round, round 3, Marcus and Phineas will be 10’ from two monster coming their way in a hurry

Round 4 HP 11, AC 15 (19 with action described below)

Seeing the 2 slimies wriggling his way, Phineas is torn about what to do. He's not really been in combat before either, and he has seen Roan lying wounded nearby. He takes the chance that the youth will survive until the monsters are dealt with. Phineas takes a defensive stance to counter the oncoming creatures holding his quarterstaff out to ward any blows from the enemies, while the rest of his friends form up. He's quite relieved when Poseus steps up and warns away the creatures even if it's not totally effective.

"Get ready Marcus here they come," he whispers through gritted teeth silently praying for the courage and strength to deal with this onslaught.

As the heroes of Woodbridge dart from place to place near the edge of the bog, small monsters struggle to free themselves from Wiscara’s Spell and frightened individuals steel themselves for what may come next.

When suddenly, from across the still water of the little lake in the bog comes the loud and ominous sound of tree branches snapped like twigs, followed by a splash and the sound of something huge thrashing in the water.

round 4HP 8, AC 17
Calex moves a bit closer to the rest of his friends, and sees for the first time what they are fighting- monsters straight out of some horrible tale meant to frighten children into behaving. But this was no book and Cal was not safely sitting in his favorite chair back home reading about it. Up to this point, Calex had been very careful not to use any magic that the villagers might see as dangerous, but these creatures and the threat they represented meant that was a line Calex had to cross today. After a deep breath to steel his nerves, Cal summons an emerald-coloured orb of hissing liquid. With a flick of his wrist he sends it darting towards one of the bog-goblins going towards Marcus & Phin.

Marcus continues to run to the aid of his fellow villagers. Hearing that the strange creatures are coming, Marcus tenses up, covering up his more exposed parts. That is, after he shudders at the mere sight of the tentacle clad beasts, like something from his nightmares. At least his friends have fought them back, Marcus hopes one of the creatures will leave itself open to an attack.

Ummm guys, what is that sound coming from the lake, since when does something so small make that much noise?, Marcus asks while looking at the other side of the lake where to giant splash came from.

male

Dieredon easily fells another monster, as it keeps turning its head to keep an eye on the wolf nipping at its tentacles, when with one swing Dieredon removes its head from its body, making its need to know where the wolf is suddenly unimportant.

One of the last two monsters still held by the spell manages to wriggle free from the weeds, and with alarming speed it jets away from the shore across the lake in the opposite direction from the loud splashing sounds coming this way.

As the body of the monster falls to the ground, Welkin lifts his head and sniffs the air, looking toward the lake, and then he begins to whine and pace back and forth nervously.

Two of the tentacle monsters rush toward Marcus and Phineas, and attack them spears. As soon as the monsters are in a position to attack, Marcus and Phineas both realize that the tentacles of the things are swiping across the ground and threatening to entangle the men’s legs

Phineas watches with horror as his friend is tripped by the tentacles and his helpless on his back.

The sound of something very large moving through the water grows louder, and then, there is a scream. It is a strange scream. A high pitched shriek followed by the sounds of flesh being rendered and bones being ripped apart.

In the dim light just beyond the edge of the light from the stones on the ground, at the very edge of the spell that is causing the plants to entangle everything within their reach, something huge lumbers.
As the weeds and plants of the lake bottom lash out and try to hold the monster that is approaching, it bellows a tremendous growl that sounds like a rasping horn, “Booooooragggghhhhhh!” is roars, the sound dropping to a low base that literally shakes the very ground.

Everyone must make a Will save versus Fear (don’t forget the +1 bonus from the Bless Spell). The DC for this is 12

It is far away, but it is a long and unmistakable call.

The remaining monsters seem to pull themselves up as high as they can, as if the other creatures bellow has electrified them. They drop their weapons and flee into the forest.

As it was caught momentarily by the plants and vines she thought it would give them enough time to escape but the next instant it ripped free as if only held by paper. That thing could crush any of them in one blow she was sure. The only option now was to run.

She clamped her hands to her ears as the thing let out a tremendous bellow that rattled every part of her. As the squid-goblins run into the forest after the horn sounds she knew they must do the same. Though she felt like just running until she was safe, thoughts of the others with her filled her mind and pushed away the fear. Help me get my friends away from here. She looked to Phineas who was lifting Roan. She knew he would slow them down but perhaps she could help, she wasn't sure how she could but she ran over to Phineas and helped him lift Roan onto his shoulders, muttering several words in a strange language. "Dieredon, grab your friend and move! This is far larger than any full-grown stag or elk."

Readied action to move, else double move

1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 1 = 9: Welkin Will save vs fear

Welkin's tail falls between his legs as he whimpers, cowering at the sight of the colossal creature. "Welkin! Get out of there now!" Chance shouts, fumbling around for his whistle.

Forget it, Calex, it will surely not allow you to cast. Run!

Dieredon picks up Welkin and tries to carry him out of the area of the beast while he runs by Calex.

Calex rapidly follows the others, angry at being run off, but knowing that for now at least, it is the best course of action left to them.

Wow I previewed it and everything, that's strange.

Ant Haul is a new spell on me, don't have a druid in my regular game, I guess. Good use of it though...Per the rules, Phineas (STR 13) would have a carry capacity of 150lbs max. With the spell, that's triple. Guessing Roan is probably less more than 150lbs but less than 300lbs, so it'd be Medium encumbrance and slow my base speed to 20 ft. Can still run at 4x. Not sure how help carrying affects that.

Phineas magically tosses the injured youth over his shoulder surprised by his newfound strength (maybe that's just the fear working overtime?).
He then bounds off as fast as his long shanks can carry him on the dark boggy ground. As far as he can tell, headed back to town, but woodcraft isn't his strong suit and fear is overriding the rest of his thought processes.

Since he's slowed a little by the youth, he starts to follow whoever makes it to the front of the pack.

Seeing that his friend had saved Welkin, Chance began to retreat as well. He follows alongside Dieredon, casting light on the whistle he had retrieved.

"Thanks, Dieredon. I owe you one."

The first instinct is to run. Run away. Run far and run fast.

But after only a few steps, the dark and dense nature of the woods around Woodbridge become threatening, and everyone changes course, turning in their headlong panic to get away from the beast in the lake, everyone looks for the light, and when they see it, they run toward it. Soon, the whole group, Wiscara, Phineas, Dieredon, Chance, Calex, Marcus, and Poseus, are running as a tight little group.

The sound of the beast crashing into the woods behind them is close, but not approaching.

In the distance, to the right, is another sound. It is, again, the sound of a horn, a brass horn, and this time the note is long, and it trills up and down three octaves as it sounds.

Turning toward what must be the sound of a villager’s horn, the party changes direction, and in a few moments you find that you emerge from the dense trees, and you see a group of villagers, twenty or more strong just a few hundred yards ahead of you, and beyond that, the lights in the windows of Lakeside.

Behind you the forest has grown silent.

The people of Woodbridge rush toward you, Patricia Flaherty is in the lead, and she carries a long handled battle axe in one hand. She is dressed in a suit of armor made from pieces of leather that are, here and there, reinforced with large iron rings. In her other hand she carries a brass trumpet.

Behind her are many people of the village, Young Connor O’Lehig, Ulan Goodwell, Marcus’ father, Eghan Dooley, Wiscara’s Mother, Oscar and Lulu Oghan, and there are three Meataur, two young men and one young woman. The Meataur wear leather armor, and heavy Rafghams of dark red, with a silver crescent pattern, a piece of material made from something reflective, stitched on the right flank.

Wiscara:
You recongnize Rosilindaea’s oldest son, Henri, he is nineteen, one of his friends, Michelin, he is twenty, and a young Meataur girl named Fiona McKecknee. You do not understand the significance of the matching and symbol emblazoned Rafghams
