Now I'm thinking about evil monk-clerics who use spontaneous inflict spells... The wisdom also has more synergy with monk, although there's a wildblooded sorcerer archetype that uses Wis as its casting stat...
The only problem with this tactic is its requires two standard (or one standard and one full-round) actions in order to get one hit in, albeit a cool one (that's where magi have the advantage with touch spells). In a situation like we just saw where there's a round to prep though, it's certainly very very cool and at least decently powerful.
I'm playing a cavalier (gendarme) right now for We Be Goblins, and at first level as a small creature he can attack at +8 for 2d6+8 on a challenge-charge-ride-by-attack, not even counting his wolf's charge and bite. They are an extremely fun class, and come built in with RPing stuff what with the orders. :D

Actually Koldir that was my mistake, what Matt showed us revealed that it can be done in 1 round(the spellstrike ability from before only adds the use of weapons, apparently which is cool on its own too and more in line with a feat(even though it's an ability)).

We just need to find a way to tame them. Then we would have one of the most bad ass armies in the world.
"You really don't want to take those guys on, they've got these half dragon/half spider things that you can't kill unless you use alchemists fire or an acid flask!"
Alright, so we've each got a cool 1,000 gp to spend. I'm thinking we should each simply take the 1,000 and use it for whatever we want, and if anyone wants more than that to RP it with the rest of the group. Is there anyone who feels they could benefit more than the rest of us from something expensive?
EDIT: Thinking about this a bit more, there's some stuff that might really benefit us as a party, such as a wand of Cure Light Wounds (aww nevermind, that's 750gp). Perhaps we can all use a bit less and get some group resources as well though.
I have to limit a bit the gear intake as 9 PCs are devastating as I've come to realize. It's a tough mix: dont want exhaustively long combats but 1 hit kills are no fun.

Give the baddies extra HP then they don't die as quickly but the don't have any better of a chance to 1 hit KO someone. Playing with HP is the single most balanced way to increase the difficulty of a combat without raising DCs and ATK power.

So just to get a clear picture of what's going on:
We are shipping out Neremburg to buy some tools and materials for repairs and also do a little shopping of our own on the side as just the 9 of us, correct?

More mooks help as well. Try building two separate encounters for a party of 4 at APL and then combine them. I've found it maintains a reasonable action economy which is the biggest problem with the singular big bad.
I quite enjoyed the thematic battle done outside of rounds, it was rather excellent.

Yeah, 9 PCs is a big challenge. You are handling it well though. In my home game my PCs are extremely powerful, due to a set of experimental houserules. It's been extremely difficult to challenge them, without outright killing them.
I agree with Tim's suggestion. In the last session, they technically killed my big bad before he even got to act. I just ignored his HP and let them keep fighting until three rounds had passed (a good length for combat I feel). By that point one of them was forced to use a hero point to keep from dying, and it was the first challenging fight they've had. It worked out well, and now they actually need to rest for once. The PCs seemed happier, and I was less frustrated. They ended up doing like 200 damage to him in those three rounds, they are level 5 (only 4 of them). He was a CR 7 or 8 mob, can't remember exactly, his actual HP was like 90.
Another idea is more than one combat per day. We won, but our casters used a lot of spells. If you hit us with another fight it would be much tougher.
Look at a CR 4 mob. They would have around a 17 AC. Baster, Me, Endrian, and Leon all have a good chance of hitting them for enough damage to kill the average CR 4 in 1 round (40 HP average). That doesn't even take into account the other 5 characters. Maximize its HP it may last two rounds. Max its HP and give it 20 or 30 extra it would be a challenging fight for us.

DM Matt, if we don't get to keep the horses, I'll buy Chineal (the chestnut pack horse I just chose) from Captain Pelemynn's army anyway - if that's okay with the good captain :-).
I can bring a good horse back from Neremburg to take the place of Chineal in the Seekers' stables, if need be.
The horses are yours as long as you ride with the Seekers. And yes, you are technically going for some supplies at Neremburg but it's mainly your chance for some leave time from the hustle of the company.
At that point I don't believe he was being stealthy anymore, he had rejoined the group, and the dragon was right next to him breathing on his face. It's true he didn't respond though, so it's possible nobody knew what Jevon was talking about.

Well I did look right at Koldir, run up to him and shoot the dragon while being like Koldir nooooooooo! It would have been obvious to anyone watching who I was talking about.

Also, Endrian, though I don't think you can buy that bow anyways, a reminder that if you don't have the strength bonus necessary for a composite bow you take a -2 penalty on attack rolls.
