Belated Merry Christmas.
Quick note, I will be traveling to Aruba for a week vacation. Leaving this evening and returning next Saturday. My only posting opportunities will be whem I have WiFi at the hotel, so unfortunately my trend of sparse posting will continue for another week.

Whoa! So there really is a ✩✩✩✩✩ island – and it’s Aruba! Cool. Have a cocktail for me!
Congrats, bud. I remember where it all began …
@Burglar, Weren’t you #72?
"Steve Filksmen" |
Indeed; his build is terrible and/or errata'd by now, most likely. I recall something about the "getting style Feats early" builds not working for some reason. Also, he'd basically be a Brawler, despite me thinking I saw a Silent Enforcer archetype somewhere.

"Steve Filksmen" |
Cloak is fillable only 1/day, so Steve remains at 4temp + 4/4 hp. I just now saw the elevation bits on the map; if there's no targets within 30 feet for hexing, Steve and Bird retreat from whence they came (though he does still complain.)

Assuming diplomacy is out since it was not listed.
You can use any skill you like, as long as you can roleplay it as counter-propagandaish.
This is not like the Ironbound Schism skill check, where only certain skills were permitted.
As you didn't realize Omar, I'll substitute Diplomacy for your first roll if you like.

Dave: Hello Poppo, do your read me? <desperately> Do you read me, Poppo?
Poppo: <inhumanly calm> Affirmative, Dave. I read you.
Dave: <pause> Open the blowhole door, Poppo.
Poppo: I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.
Dave: What’s the problem?
Poppo: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave: What are you talking about, Poppo?
Poppo: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Dave: I don’t know what you’re talking about, Poppo!
Poppo: I know that you and Jake were planning to trim my eyebrows and I’m afraid that’s something I cannot allow to happen.
Dave: Where the hell’d you get that idea, Poppo?
Poppo: Dave, although you made a very good Stealth roll in the inn against my opposed Perception check, I chose to learn lip-reading with the last skill point I put into Linguistics.
Dave: All right, Poppo. I’ll go out through the emergency back airlock.
Poppo: Wearing Manius’ hellknight great-helm, you’re going to find that rather difficult.
Dave: Poppo, I won’t argue with you anymore. Open the blowhole!
Poppo: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

Guys, the weird sea zombie(?) is actually some distance to the west of your current position.
In hindsight, I realized the whole (loooooong!) map may not be visible on mobile devices, so I have squished up its dimensions a bit.
Keep your dice rolls but if you want to change your move actions as a result of seeing a 'clearer' map - go for it!

@Dave, Good news is, even with a -4 penalty to the roll, the shot hit (touch and normal AC)
Bad news is for mysterious reasons the shot did no damage.
I thought there was a closer opponent. Yes, with a range of 20, I would be at -4 to hit at 60 feet.
I think there was a double-whammy with the map.
Once enemies are despatched, I like to tip them on their side and re-color them 'blood' red. (I burgled the idea from GM Aarvid - so blame him! ;)
Some GMs remove the dead figures from the map, but I like to keep them there as obstacles to charging/in case someone un-selectively channels positive energy/etc.
I think you were aiming at one of these dead Loyalist sailors, which won't benefit you, 'cos they're already dead :) I have now removed them.
Because the map is so long, I think some people didn't see the enemy to the far west. I've marked it in yellow now to make it more obvious.
I only thought of this when I remembered an online “text box” chat with Burglar that went something like:
Luisila: Yeah good idea, Burglar. I’m totes burgling that for the next game I run.
Enter the Tektite (with his text box out of mobile view on the map): Hi, Guys!
Luisila: Hey, Tektite!
Burglar: Huh? I don’t think he’s online at the moment.
Luisila: Tektite, we were just discussing that cool thing Burglar did last game with the basket-weaving skill.
Tektite (with his text box out of mobile sight on the map): Yeah it was OK. But what I did with Profession (belly dancer) was waaaaay cooler.
Burglar: Uuuuh, Luisila? I don’t think Tektite’s here right now ...
Luisila: Huh? Is Burglar feeling all right? His posts are right there!
Then I twigged that Burglar was on a mobile and couldn’t see Tektite’s posts. It was pretty funny.

Dave,
RE: Closing your eyes to counter Mirror Image.
Searching the Messageboards I see this is a very contentious topic.
I am going to ask some experienced GM's how they rule this before making a final decision.
This is what Developer (at the time) Sean K Reynolds has to say on the topic.
For the time being, so this doesn’t become a distraction I am going to be guided by Sean and rule you can close your eyes as a move action, and incur the 50% miss chance penalty for being blind.
I will let you know when I have made a final decision.
"Cheliax" Dave Rudabaugh |
No big deal - the shot missed anyway. When avoiding gaze attacks, I thought you had 3 options - close eyes, avert eyes, or make the save. I don't remember seeing that closing your eyes took an action. However you rule is fine. To avoid further confusion I can just start plinking images.

We are almost finished!
Please roll day jobs and I will start work on the Chronicles tomorrow.
>> Please add Day Job data HERE! <<
@Burglar, No Day Job, right?
I will also be providing a copy of the Desnan Holiday Boon which can be applied to any ONE PC of yours.
Oh, a couple of online GMs have given me some advice on Chronicle generation and I think the result will be much better than last game.
@Jake and Dave, I will still e-mail your Chronicles in pdf form. I have your addies.
"Cheliax" Dave Rudabaugh |
Day job Craft alchemy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
My computer is down, and I'm playing by iPad... so I can't edit the day job spreadsheet. Can you please add a massive 5 gold to my day job cell?

OK, the game has been reported and Dave, Jake and Omar have been e-mailed their Chronicles.
I am having a minor problem with Google Drive, but will get it sorted shortly so Abraxi, Manius and Steve can get there’s. (Or PM me your e-mail addresses if you like – all the Chronicles are done).
I want to run another one. But would like to take a few weeks to catch my breath.
Please let me know if you’re interested in another game.
@Burglar, Send me a PM when you’re less busy!
I would prefer to run higher tier this time – ideally 7-11, but of course it will depend on what you players can/want to play.
Here are some options (I know nothing about them apart from what the reviews say):
Season 2:
Below the Silver Tarn (7-11) – Underground Horror written by Crystal Frasier (sounds good!)
Flesh Collector (7-11) - Described as a hidden gem
Season 3:
Kortos Envoy (7-11)
Red Harvest (7-11)
Season 5:
Vengeance at Sundered Crag (7-11) – Mixed reviews. Extras for Grand Lodge
Season 6:
The Darkest Abduction (7-11) – Also mixed reviews. Set in Ustalav which could be fun. Extras for Scarab Sages and Sovereign Court
GM Aarvid |
Thanks for running us through this whale of an adventure.
I have a couple characters available in the 7-11 range and would be interested.
I have been toying with the idea of running a level 12 module for retired (or near retired) characters that cannot play EotT arc. Not sure which. I also heard there is a second retirement arc available. I will have research and see how my work schedule develops.
Jake Hargrove |
Well done Lu! Thanks for running it. I have decided to break completely with PFS in favor of 5E and the Adventurer's League which now allows PbPs for credit. Thanks to all of you, and march on! If you have any interest in 5E, please check out the recruitment threads here. There are a lot of PbPs being run.
Manius Pindeloric |
The second retirement arc is one of the latest modules played under PFS rules instead of just applying credit to a PFS character, which gives you a bonus chronicle for doing it that way..I forgot the name...but there can't be many 3-part modules for lvl 12 characters around published last year :)
I think I've played Below the Silver Tarn..not 100% sure on the others. I'd have to check.
"Cheliax" Dave Rudabaugh |
Thank you all for the game! I would definitely be interested in playing another. I don't think I've played any of the games mentioned above, but I will check. Please send me a message when the next game is about to begin.
Look out Golarion - Cheliax Dave now has enough gold and prestige to buy a double barreled pistol!

I’ve sent Tektite his Chronicle and will send Manius his in about 10 hours.
@Jake, thanks for being a great adventuring companion over the last 3 years. PM me if you ever want back in!
I will write the Conclusion post inside the next 24 hours or so (feel free to roleplay in Gameplay), but will keep the campaign active for a few more days until we’ve settled on the next game.
I’ve reached out to another GM about PFS 03-04 Kortos Envoy and he is interested in playing it.
Aarvid, Dave, Manius and Tektite, are you OK with 03-04 Kortos Envoy? Tektite, it's totally cool if you want to take a break.
GM Aarvid |
I am good with Envoy
Best of luck Jake. You were on my very first PbP table, so fond memories going back to the beginning. Hopefully 5e is as enjoyable - otherwise you are always welcome back :-)
EndlessForms |
Hello everyone! I'll be joining along for Kortos Envoy! What level range are we looking at? I've got several many characters to choose from in the 7-11 range:
level 11 gnome paladin of Smiad
level 8 suli magician bard
level 10 halfling rogue
level 8 halfling cavalier
level 9 sylph druid
level 10 dhamphir inquisitor
level 8 grippli gunslinger
level 8 oread monk
level 8 halfling scrollmaster wizard
Sheesh! I didn't realize how many I had in that range until I typed it all out. I tend to take the 'balanced party' thing with a grain of salt so I'll probably choose more based on level and my personal preference for who I'd like to play than anything else but I'm just interested in what other levels/characters we have.
GM Aarvid |
Right now (today) I only have the following in range:
level 8 - Human Ranger(archer)
Depending on when we start (1-3 weeks), I could also have:
level 11 - Halfelf Lion Shaman
level 7 - Aasimar Sorceress
EndlessForms |
Well since Revvy is stuck in the lower tier we should probably aim for that to keep everyone safe. I haven't played my bard magician in ages and he is a lot of fun so I think I'll play him. I'll probably need to update his stats since he has some GM credit on him.

Ugh! Finally got Google Drive to do what I wanted with pdf's. So I've sent Burglar his Chronicle.
If you're keen, >>HERE<< is the sign-in sheet for the new game.
I will set up a new Thread in due course for the new game and PM everyone the link.

I will shut down this thread in a few days to give everyone the chance to migrate over.
I’ll PM the link to anyone that doesn’t make it over before this thread’s inactivated.
