Cornelia's eyes narrow in disgust at the mention of the Aspis agents attacking. "We should use that door as a choke-point and attack them as the come in! Quickly now!" She draws her swordcane.

![]() |

Ethendril assesses the situation, then says "Everyone get behind me! I'll hold the choke point!"
He draws his greatsword and prepares to attack any foes that come near him.
Greatsword Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 for damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
I've taken the liberty of arranging everyone on the map...please move yourself if you don't like the array. I don't see an icon for Gale on there yet. Also, have we heard from Olga in a while?

Thanks, Ethendril. That spot works well for me.

You can hear the Aspis agents assault the dwarven/kobold compound. You hear screams of terror as they encounter the basilisk.
Then, running towards your position are three Aspis agents and a hyena.
Cornelia: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Dydimus: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Ethendril: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Hotspur: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Olga: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Aspis: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
The Aspis go first!

![]() |

Red rages and charges Ethendril:
Greatsword: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22, Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 6) + 7 = 19 (Crap!)
Orange charges Olga:
Longsward: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6, Miss!
Yellow shoots a bow at Dydimus:
Longsward: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23, Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Green (the hyena) cannot do anything from the back.
The party is up! You may post in any order.

Olga will swing back at Orange mwk cold iron greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 which will deal 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 if she hits.
Then she'll five foot away in case someone else wants to get near enough to swing.

![]() |

The late comer Gale will wait with her spear until a target appears - once she knows her initiative. :)

To be clear, we had one round to prepare, and Ethendril had readied an attack (above) that should have triggered once they came into range? Regardless, I'll go ahead with the next round.
Ethendril's face contorts in pain as the greatsword cuts him deeply.
But the paladin has been wounded in battle before, and he holds his ground.
"You will not pass this threshold! Turn back, or die here!" he shouts over the din of combat.
The paladin touches his wound and holy energy emanates from his hand, causing some of the wound to close.
He then grips his own greatsword and swings against the enemy that had struck him.
lay on hands: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Greatsword Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 for damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 1) + 9 = 11
swift action for LoH, standard to attack

Hotspur steps to the left to get a better shot at the archer, and then fires both barrels of her musket...
Barrel 1 touch attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Barrel 2 touch attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
One barrel is jammed, the other bullet, if it hits, would do:
Damage: 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Cornelia winces as she watches Ethendril take a hard hit from the Aspis agent! She slips around Sir Dydimus to stand behind the paladin and draws out her healing wand, prepared to help heal up the raw cut!
Move into current position, draw Wand of CLW.

Sorry for the lack of posting
Dydimus will inspire courage
+1 to hit and +1 damage

The Aspis agent's sudden move into their lines throws off Ethendril's next blow, which he misses badly. However, he does heal more of his wounds.
Greatsword Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 11 for damage: 2d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1) + 9 + 1 = 12 Added modifiers for inspire courage and flanking with Olga
I honestly thought that was going to be a 1 before I rolled. All the great modifiers...gone to waste!
lay on hands: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 +2 for fey foundlign

![]() |

Hotspur steps 5 feet to get a better shot, reloads the unjammed barrel of her musket, and fires at the raging orange Aspis...
Single barrel touch attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d12 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7

![]() |

Will swing at Orange again, inspired flanking.
mwk cold iron greataxe: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 19 which will deal 1d12 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10 if she hits.
If, however, Ethendril drops Orange, then I'll five foot over and swing at Green, without the flanking bonus.

![]() |

Hand waving these mooks. They don't stand a chance.
The party makes short work of the remaining Aspis assailants. But there's so much chaos around here. The golden guardian has left the room to deal with the bulk of the intruders. Kobolds are running around resetting traps. Stinkeye does what he does best.
I suggest you stay out of the south area unless you want to risk turning to stone. And you already used the red fluid to restore the Aspis lady. You don't have any more...
You realize that more agents will be headed your way shortly.
You have 5 rounds to prepare.

![]() |

I'm good. I can heal up anyone one who needs it.

Hotspur repairs her musket.

Just before the Aspis arrive, Hotspur starts to inspire her friends with a speech on communal property rights (+1/+1) so that Sir Dydimus need not carry the burden himself.
Then the gunslinger fires at the Aspis with the spear as he enters the room...
single barrel touch attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 - 1 + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d12 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10

![]() |

Ethendril stands in righteous might in the doorway, slashing at the enemy with his blade.
Greatsword Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 for damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 1) + 9 = 11 I think that's a few times I've rolled minimum damage in this battle. Snake-eyes!

![]() |

Olga will swing down on the green guy.
mwk cold iron greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 and if she hits will deal 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 points of damage.

![]() |

Stepping up with her spear Gale attempts to impale the Aspis agent
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
"Eat spear!"

Cornelia pulls free one of her extracts and drinks down the bitter tasting fluid... She grimaces at the terrible after taste and shuts her eyes against the pain she knows that will come next. She grits her teeth as a dull pain suddenly fills her shoulders, arms, and hands as the bones in her arms begin to lengthen and grow...
Using Long Arm extract. 2 minute duration.
Long Arm - 20/20 rounds.

![]() |

Olga will attempt again to swing her mwk cold iron greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 and if she hits will deal 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 points of damage to the green.

![]() |

CritConfirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 for an additional 2d12 + 6 ⇒ (9, 4) + 6 = 19 points of damage if that confirms.

LOLOL!
ROAR! Olga steps up, and with a MASSIVE crit, she ends the fight. All Aspis everywhere within Ashkurhall wet themselves when they sense the force of her strike and subsequently surrender. She totally vaporized the longspear wielding Aspis leader!!!

With Zaril Namoth and his Aspis Consortium expedition thwarted, the Golden Guardian and kobolds assist the PCs in clearing the collapsed corridor of rubble. There they uncover the remains of Venture-Captain Nieford Sharrowsmith, which are badly damaged but identifiable thanks to his crushed wayfinder and other belongings. The kobolds allow the PCs to extract the body and its possessions in peace, but a#erward the small humanoids make it clear that the PCs have overstayed their welcome and should leave.
When the PCs return to Nantambu, Aya Allahe is there to receive them. She listens to the PCs’ recounting of their mission, and when she learns of Sharrowsmith’s death, she nods sadly and voices her thanks.
"Nantambu will not be the same without my friend Nieford Sharrowsmith. When he was younger, he traveled to all corners of the Mwangi Expanse and truly made the region his home, despite having been born hundreds of miles away in Avistan. He never truly lost his adventuring spirit, and as this lodge grew, he found his hours dedicated more and more to paperwork and less and less to exploring the lands’ rich history. I know his soul would take no offense at my saying he died as he would have wished—active, engaged, and in the field. I take solace in being able to provide him proper funerary rites. With his passing, Sharrowsmith’s Exports has no venture- captain, but I have corresponded with Nieford’s colleague Ambrus Valsin and agreed to act as the temporary manager of the lodge. After all, the full extent of the Pathfinders’ involvement in Nantambu has remained a something of an open secret, and it would be an embarrassment for anyone but a friend or family member to take command of the business so soon after the owner’s death. I dearly appreciate what you have done for the Society, for your venture-captain, and for me."

Scenario over! :-D Thank you, one and all for playing!
