Woo! I'll do the level up when I get home to Herolab. I forget, are we doing average or rolls for HP?
-Posted with Wayfinder

Kivan Corsan |

Roll I think as we did that for level 4.
Level 5
Hp: 1d6 ⇒ 6 +1 FC = 7
Skills (7)
K. (arcana) +1
Lingustics +1 Language learned: Abyssal
Spellcraft +1
K (religion) +1
K (planes) +1
Appraise +1
Craft (clothing) +1
Spells per day
3rd: +1
Spells known +2
Dispel Magic, and Summon Monster III
Feat: Augment Summoning
Wizard Bonus feat is replaced with darkvision 60 ft.

Seraphina Medvyed |

I'll get my level up done with PC Gen shortly. Yep, we've been rolling for HP, nice roll Kivan!
*crosses fingers*
HP Roll: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Uh oh... iirc we were re-rolling 1's? =D
HP Roll: 1d6 ⇒ 5
You know I started to ask about how you got bit by a stray as well... My thinking was, every dog that has ever bitten me was someone's pet! The strays are either friendly or too skittish to come near. Sure enough, looks like the case here.
Oh, and Happy First Game-iversary to my fellow Self-Lords!
We've been playing for one year today! ^_^

Pretty |

Not easy to accomplish, right?!
Thanks for making this an interesting experience, everyone! And congratulations!
Rogue (knifemaster) 5
HP = 1d8 ⇒ 4+1con+1fc+38=44 Well, there goes my streak...
Favored Class Bonus: +1 HP
New Feat: Independent Combatant
No increase on saves, nor BAB.
Sneak Attack (3d8; 3d4)
Skills: 11 points > +1 Acrobatics, +1 Perception, +1 Bluff, +1 Diplomacy, +1 Disguise, +1 Intimidate, +1 K. Dungeoneering, +1 Sense Motive, +1 Stealth, +1 Sleight of Hand, +1 Spellcraft.
Also, I'm using the Bravado's garb, which is a MW leather armor granting me +2 armor bonus and +2 enhancement bonus to that, with no chest piece nor Armor Check penalty. I was wondering if it was possible to make an upgrade to it at a low cost, say, to give at least +3 armor like a Studded Leather would (which would still give 0 ACP like a MW studded Leather, at least). Any possibilities?

Idris of the Blade |

Fighter (Aldori Swordlord) 4 / Monk (master of many styles) 1
HP: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 + 37 = 44
New feat: Dedicated Combatant
Fighter feat: Weapon Focus (Aldori dueling sword)
Retraining Fighter feat: Dodge => Dazzling Display (Aldori Dueling Sword)
5 skill ranks: 2 into Intimidate (+7 total), 1 into Knowledge(Nobility) (+4 total), and 2 into Escape Artist (+9 total). Next time Bara and Idris wrestle, she'll be able to wriggle out... if she wants to. (She very well may not want to.)
Idris will sell the masterwork chain shirt she has.
Ramage, was Bara wanting new leather clothes, or leather armor? I didn't quite get what she was asking for.

I think the HP rules were take the higher of a roll or 3/4 hit points. That should help us quite a bit!
I thought about taking Rapid Shot, but because I really want to take Leadership at level 7, I think I can't put the story feat off any longer:
Cleric (Separatist) 3 / Paladin (Divine Hunter) 2
HP: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Feat: Certainty of the Separatist
+1 BAB
+1 Fort / Will
Divine Grace
Lay on Hands
+1 Heal
+2 Perception

Pretty |

The level of the custom feats!
You may either roll or take 3/4 round down hp (EG 7 hp on a d10), your choice.
Indeed that's the rule, but it seems to me you would choose before starting to roll? Or do we take the best of them?

![]() |

Bara was asking for new armor, as per Seraphina and your discussion.
The hitpoints deal is intended to be pick one or the other, but obviously I can't stop you from using the preview to see the outcome before committing.
And lest you think I've abandoned custom feats, there is more to come. This time it'll be a bonus for all involved, and you'll know what it is after it's been explained in the story.

Pretty |

Whatever, I'm just going to roll everytime and stick with it.

Pretty |

By the way, this picture reminds me of Kivan, a lot.

sorry for the delay. Spent yesterday and last night finding a leaking pipe in the house so I could fix it and turn the water back on. Dear homebuilders, if you're going to solder copper pipe to galvanized pipe, please make it at an accessible location so when electrolysis inevitably corrodes it until it breaks clean through, nobody has to saw holes in their kitchen ceiling to find the leak. Signed, homeowners.

Pretty |

You're lucky. Your house could be made of bricks and cement. Then you would see...

Seraphina Medvyed |

I've been having fun as well, my 5yo daughter came home from her first week of kindergarten with a fever and a sore throat. Spent the weekend trying to get her over it while not catching it myself and then dad caught it! It's always fun playing immune system roulette. >_<

Seraphina Medvyed |

Ok, I'm giving up trying to anticipate when you might update, Red. You've abandoned predictability and are posting all over the clock these days! =P

![]() |

I didn't abandon predictability, it abandoned me! Couple things at play here: Most of my classes this semester are lab classes in the evenings, so how long I spend in class is highly variable based on how much work there is and how hard it is. When I get out of school influences when I go in to work. At work, I keep getting switched between processes that run for long periods of time and allow me free time to play on the computer and short processes that keep me busting my ass all night. Even the missus has given up on my schedule, we take it day to day. I just try to stick to my contractual post per day :D

Pretty |

Speaking of which, I'll be in school tomorrow, so please bot me if needed (which I don't believe will be the case anyway).

Seraphina Medvyed |

Well, it's probably healthier for me anyway. Back when you were posting at 3am my time like clockwork, I would stay up waiting for the update. Now I have no clue, so I go to bed earlier, lol!
Ugh, I love science, but I think I love all my lab sections the least! It is long work sometimes, especially if you need to have your lab report all compiled before leaving. >_< Good luck with the busy schedule!

Pretty |

Hey Sera, a CMW Potion cures 2d8+3
^_^

![]() |

Sorry guys, buried today. I'll post later tonight.

Idris of the Blade |

Red, to explain what I was saying in the OOC comment about one-handed attacks: The aldori swordlord fighter archetype has this ability:
Defensive Parry (Ex)
At 3rd level, when a swordlord makes a full attack with a dueling sword, he gains a +1 bonus to AC against melee attacks until the beginning of his next turn. This bonus increases by +1 every four levels after 3rd.
This ability replaces armor training 1 and 4.
The swordlord archetype also clarifies: "The following benefits only apply when a swordlord is using a dueling sword and carrying nothing in his other hand."
I originally took that to mean that these abilities don't work if you two-hand the sword, but now that I think about it, if you're wielding a sword two-handed, you're not exactly carrying anything in your other hand. The main hand is carrying the sword, the other is just there to give it more oomph. I dunno.

Idris of the Blade |

Wow Pretty, that's some serious stealthiness. How does that all stack up? +5 from dex, +5 ranks, +3 from class bonus, +2 from race I am accounting for, but I'm guessing you're getting +5 from something else I'm not seeing.

Pretty |

Boots of Elvenkind!! ^_^
We got a pair from Tartuk's hoard, if I remember it well...

Pretty |

Btw, OMG you're reading my spoilers! Shame on you!!! ^_^

Pretty |

She gets bored when in jail, you understand...

![]() |

Boots of elvenkind grant an acrobatics bonus, not a stealth bonus. That's the cloak of elvenkind. No matter, you still bested his perception check.
Sorry for the missed day. Had class canceled by a tornado and a jerkwad instructor didn't push the homework back. "I think you can figure it out, just give it a shot." Yeah, that's why I'm paying you $545/credit hour, to figure it out myself. Let me just do that in all my free time. /eyeroll

Pretty |

LOOOOL, hey, I want to charge $545 to give you homework too!!
Indeed it was my mistake with the item! Sorry for that, I really thought it was the same thing and have been using it since we got it. I'll fix it on the sheet.

Seraphina Medvyed |

Is it just me, or do these cultist's masks look like Cobra Commander meets The Shredder?

Pretty |

I recall that's something related to G.I.Joe, right? My cousin had a whole collection of those figures back in the early 90s... He had something like a black plane that seemed bigger than both of us... Those were good times ^_^

Pretty |

I'm afraid Kivan will get depressed when that wand is over...

Idris of the Blade |

He'll take craft wand and make another, perhaps.

Kivan Corsan |

Nah, Kivan will be able to rely upon summons for helping out at that point.

Pretty |

Could anyone please clarify to me the following phrase:
One nation under dog there of which i stand alone
It's from the Green Day's song Minority. I'm having a tough time trying to understand exactly how do those words add up.

Kivan Corsan |

I think it means that most people say One nation under god in the USA, and he is spelling god backwards or dog. There of which I stand alone might allude to the fact that if he doesn't support god in the USA then he will be in the minority.

![]() |

It's referencing the american Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands
one nation, under god, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
When that album was written we were in the middle of the Bush presidency, and it was the cool and hip thing to be against The Man, man. People were angry about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the PATRIOT act, government overreach, deficit spending, evil republican fat cats ruining everything! There was a blossoming of "question authority", "dissent is the highest form of patriotism", and other rebellious thought from the american Left at the time, of which this song is a prime example.
Then Bush term limited out and Obama got elected, and everything kept on going exactly the way it had before but all of a sudden you had to shut up and do what our glorious leader tells you to do. It's just another part of the kabuki theater of American politics, where you choose between two neatly-packaged and heavily marketed teams and then fight the other guys to the death despite both parties acting damned near identically once they're in office.
It's a lot easier to keep the sheep shorn when they're busy arguing with each other.

Pretty |

Well, thank you both, Imma try to put that together tomorrow, cause now I gotta crash ^_^

Pretty |

Have a nice trip, Maja! Send us a postcard!

![]() |

So I got a new phone, and I may or may not have chosen an android platform so I could access wayfinder. I can't seem to post under my main handle, only as some of my alias/characters. Am I missing something?

Pretty |

I have no idea man, sorry. Even when accessing through my phone I still use the regular browser...

Idris of the Blade |

Yeah it seems to assume you would want to post as an alias. Should be an option at least. I'll send in a bug report.

Pretty |

You know, you guys make Pretty's objectives so much easier to accomplish...
Note: I might be a little slower or gone the next few days, so DMPC me if needed (probably won't be necessary, but...)

Seraphina Medvyed |

Too tired now to respond on gameplay, but I do think we should proceed on to Restov and come back to the cult's lair on the way back maybe. Any further authority to look into that matter could only be afforded by the swordlords after we report on it.

![]() |

By a fortunate turn of events, I have the night off from work tomorrow (today?). The intro to Restov is a fair bit o' typing so that's serendipitous. Couple questions and random thoughts.
How are you handling the tiefling matter for your approach to the city? Will Pretty be disguised? The intro was before I joined and didn't hash out your being sent out in too much detail - do the Swordlords know Pretty is a tiefling? They would be ok with it, mostly - up to Pretty if she's overt or covert.
Your mission isn't secret, per se, but it is low-profile. Rostlanders knowing your affairs isn't a problem, unless an Issian sympathizer gets wind of it and puts the implications together. Your charter bears the seal of the Swordlord Council and will prove your legitimacy to any questioning authorities. Keep all that in mind for your interactions.
I'd also like to introduce Milo as a new player. Awhile back I asked if you'd be willing to have a player from my meatspace game group join, and got positive responses. In an effort to avoid the "well it's a PC so sure, come along" scenario, she fed Milo's actions to me and I represented them as GM NPC actions to make Milo's coming along more authentic. If you have sharp perception (as I know a few of you do) you may have noticed the differences in syntax and style between what Milo did and other npcs, that's because I was copying her text. Please welcome Milo aboard!

Maja Weatherseed |
Woohoo! That's a very clever way of introducing someone. Welcome aboard!
-Posted with Wayfinder

Pretty |

Well done!
I'm outta time, but having lived in Restov for a few years would certainly spoil the tiefling's disguise, and also she did not care much in that city. For years she was left alone, so it wasn't a problem.
Anyway, I'm coming to Restov under disguise, and if they remember me or not, its up to you ^_^
Welcome new player! I need to go to work! :(

Kivan Corsan |

Impressive way of introducing someone. Welcome to our strange group Milo.
