We still haven't decided how to distribute the scrolls and potions, or have we?
Arcane Scroll, Invisibility, greater {4th/7th} : 700gp
Arcane Scroll, Mirror image {2nd/3rd} : 150gpPotion of Barkskin {2nd/3rd} : 300gp
Potion of Hide from animals {1st/1st} : 50gp
potion of Remove disease {3rd/5th} : 750gp
Unfortunately there's no scroll of tree killing...

Oh dear, Isham needs a heal. Are you down to 1 hp? By my math you are at 1/13 hp. (-4 from CON damage, then 5+3+4=12 damage after that)
Isham Tabouri |
@zethyris - i read up on the con drain rules - it's only 1/dice/(-2 con), so you don't account for your own break points. So for right now it's only 3/17.
@GM - Good cinematic summaries! excellent! I greatly appreciate the time and effort that goes into re-cooking the scattershot pbp into a coherent storyline. I GM in real life, and try to do the same on a real-time basis to keep the story 'live' for players. I appreciate the time and imagination required. Thanks!
Zethyris |
@Isham - Ah. My bad, I had the effects doubled. I guess I'm down to 3 from the tree, not 1.

^This.

I'd alluded to it before, but I think it's time to put it in specifics.
I propose that we all donate our dryad-given acorns, and plant them to establish a grove of oaks near the edge of the forest. I'd like to carve a plaque (in stone) in both Sylvan and Skald dedicating the grove to Ungrill's memory, and as a place for Fae and Humans to discuss their differences and disputes.
Is everyone OK with that? and with donating their acorns?
Isham Tabouri |
@DM-ARC - I haven't called it out yet, my bad, but as a Garundi, Isham picks up small pebbles from major/interesting places (it's a culture thing). He'd have picked one up from the dryad's grove (and one from the Devourer's lair). Once we've left the forest, how's that pebble feeling?
Rutilux |
I think Rutilux might be less than sold on the idea of giving up the acorns even in so noble an endeavor. Communicating to the fae without them seems less likely and that might hurt diplomatic efforts in one area even as the group strove to make good ties in another.
Zethyris |
"No. I am Julian Itto and I have a fancy necklace somewhere, too. Please excuse my compatriots. An evil tree fell on them and apparently that makes them cranky."
:D
@Isham - Zethyris would be reluctant to part with it, as he doesn't really like the fae and wants all the protection he can get. Though he knows it is no guarantee, he still would like to hold on to his acorn, in case he ever enters fae areas again. However, if the general consensus is to give them up, he would do it too.
DM - ARC |
Just to clarify, the acorns only work in Grungir Forest protecting you against the plethora of fae traps and illusions and wandering monsters and the fog etc. Not everywhere fae live.
And Isham they both feel hard, somewhat round and a little bit heavy but the one from the swamp smells bad and is quite sticky with mud and tar.
Isham Tabouri |
Well, since that's how I remember the swamp being, that's exactly as it should be :) I just wanted to make sure they hadn't dissolved into fairy dust or aged 3 billion years or something. It's part of how the Garundi keep track of what's real...
Zethyris |

Though Zethyris likely wouldn't know that. He doesn't really trust the fae and would not be surprised if that was the case, and an argument that built up that case would work pretty well.
DM - ARC |
I think now would be a good time to finalize gear distribution and such
up for grabs:
+1 studded leather armour
half-plate (needs to be fitted first)
half-plate (needs to be fitted first)
falchion
great-club
masterwork cold-iron great axe
anchor necklace
I'll let you just divide the coins and gems as you all see fit
Anastasiya has the fancy clothes (worth less than the half.plate and much less than the magic studded)
Rutilux |
Well, Rutilux will try to have one of the half plates fitted and take that as his share if others are okay with it. The anchor necklace might be of interest to Isham, I think he's got the most nautical nature of things... dreams of sirens and all :)
Isham Tabouri |
I'll put in bids on the anchor necklace (why? well... anchor, right?), or the studded leather.
Isham is not a Great Bloody Monster Whacker kinda guy, nor a spam-in-a-can kinda guy.
I think DM-ARC has also (delicately, indirectly..) raised a point that may be a bit thorny, specifically the difference between utility loot and vanity loot. As a general party practice, I'm used to groups dividing out stuff that's utilitarian (armors, weapons, magic widgets), with a general eye towards party benefit, and secondarily with an eye to fairness considerations. Non-utilitarian stuff ($$, gems), we've generally put in a pot, and divided out equally as cash-equivalent. If someone wanted a specific non-utility thing, they could buy it back from the pot (I had a half-dragon character that had a thing for pretty gems...).
I'm all good with that - seems to work out pretty well overall.
I do have a bit of a question about Anastasiya's beautiful ball gown. Utility or vanity? I can make a sound argument that having Anastasiya in a court gown will be of as much utility to the party (and about as frequently applicable) as having (for example) Jediah have a cold-forged iron great axe. And probably considerably higher than the 1-shot Tongues scroll. Anyone else up for declairng those court clothes as utilitarian and rejiggering the maths?
Isham Tabouri |
I think what I was trying (poorly) to get to, is let's just share out the useful stuff, and not worry particularly what it's worth - we'll all get best value back if it's used appropriately - and leave "treasure shares" for non-useful stuff.
So - half-plates to Jediah and Rutilux, with $$ from party treasury for fitting, Tongues scroll to whoever can best use it (Dagmar?), Zethyris and Julian arm wrestle for the studded leather, and the loser gets the delay poison potion.
Isham will guinea pig the mystery amulet of anchor-ness (why? well... anchor!).
Cold iron great axe to Jediah? Thorvald?
The falchion and great-club don't seem particularly useful to anyone in the party (unless I'm missing something), so we should just sell 'em for cash and put 'em in the pot as soon as we find somewhere willing to buy 'em.
Does that suit everyone?
Isham Tabouri |
Anyone know what Zethyris was wearing for armor before the +1 studded leather? I'm not wearing anything fancy - but maybe Zethyris had some m/w leather or something.
@jediah - clarify? axe being where? I'd really prefer to have a m/w cold iron weapon in the party somewhere, even if it's not the everyday-use item. Some cans just need the right can-opener. In honesty, I'd also rather there weren't a cold iron weapon anywhere near Merroh for about 2 fae lifetimes. It's like a butterfly landmine in a crowded nursery...
