Pip looks at his tall friend

"Man we took a beating on this one Oso," He grins

He sets off a CMW for him:

2d8+8=16

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

"I lurved what you did to that owl. But the kongamato is going in my book of hate. I owe them."

Oso is updated, he has taken haste and restoration as his fourth level spells. Also IC gave me 6 hit points extra. Don't we have stat point to assign?. Probably put it in wisdom.

Yeah; I reckon 1 at 8th level.

I'm glad when I can invoke player hatred with a gnome with the fiendish template.

(Male Wild Elf Druid 14(Shifter version, PHBII))

Nice work all! And good job keeping us on our toes Heathy. Elgan wasn't expecting that!

Elganhawk crows like a rooster when his dance partner gets shafted by a barrage of magical missiles courtesy of Altai. But he looks a little the worse for wear when he lands and gratefully takes advantage of Oso's healing energies. Once he gets his wind back, he starts casting as well, and gives further healing aid to those who still need it.

I think Oso's fast healing puts me at near full. I'll burn /convert some spells I didn't get the chance to use into heal spells. who still needs it? Gittik? Stiggy? (OH good to have you back Stig!)

Elgan looks at the large man in the floating chair, and starts to speak in reply, then looks at Reise and Altai and shakes his head instead.

"Dey nevah unnerstan's me anyways,..." He mutters to himself. He steps back to watch what happens carefully.

Ah, loverly XP, I'll lvl up laters, busy today. EDIT- YAY! I get Ferocious Slayer form! Tiger, Bear, DIRE wolf,... ;)

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

far out....ferocious slayer....hurm.....

"YESSSS! Get their bodies over here! We'll make sure they're dead." Altai does a little victory dance on the forecastle before turning to Beldan. "Um, you said there was something in the water?"

"Eyes, claws, teeth ... the usual," answers Beldan. "Probably tentacles too."

Levelled!
Ability score increase: Dex
Hit points: 6+1 = 7
+1 increase to BAB and Ref save.
Improved Uncanny Dodge
10 skill points.

(Male Human Rogue 14)

He starts picking over the bodies, using his mad search skillz to find choice items.

“Ooo, that’s a nice looking amulet … torc, nice … ring, wonder how it stacks up against the other … wow, funky eyepatch …”

(Male Human Rogue 14)

When the man in the golden floating chair approaches, Beldan looks up from his ghouling, then stands, rapier drawn but held ready, looking at the man and his chair warily, appraisingly … Spot: 7+1, Appraise for laughs: 11+6 = 17

“That’s a nasty cough you got there gov,” he says at last. “This ship? Why, ‘tis ours, won fair and square in a game o’ chance and skill with ‘er Cap’n.” Beldan’s pirate accent seems to morph into weird and wonderful dialects as he warms up. “See, me mates and me were sailing, plundering, looting and such down the coast, when …”

He launches into a long and improbable tale involving sea serpents, mermaids, foreign armadas, desert islands and high stakes dice games in scurvy ports. Bluff: 8+6 = 14

There's a hard Olman staring into you; giving you what is referred to as "cop eyes." The top of his head down to his nose level is bald; at first it looks covered in dark violed paint, but closer scrutiny shows it to be tiny tattoo knotwork; perhaps done by pixies with pixie needles.

The bloated man on the throne stares at you too; then
"Oyde watcher self wi tha rapier, good me boyo.....me body garrd isn't loykin it's.....prosss-ximity...." He looks at the Olman, who now seems to be working his mouth like he's chewing a ping pong ball sized chunk of bubble gum; then a trickle of blood goes down his chin....his eyes get all wild.
"He's Hex Chun Chan," the hovering throneman chortles, "the dangerous one." and he hacks and laughs.

Oso moves near to the top of the plank.

"If it be so little a thing then lessum stop fiddling with her knickers un tell us what you want, Sencho?"

"Us has had one fight today to stop someone jumping on dis ship. Would be a shame to kick off again."

Pip keeps an eye on developments. He strums Lucille in the meantime and sings a victory song:

"A wizard, bat, and Bugbeartaur,
All came out to the dock,
They thought they'd found an easy fight,
Boy did they get a shock!

The Hellwind's crew of pirates dire,
Matched them blow for blow,
And when the fighting was all done,
They floated in the undertow.

So let the villains all take note,
The Hellwind's crew's arrived,
So offer ale instead of steel,
If y'all enjoy yer lives......"

There's a general lot of laughter from the crowd of mixed pirates and scalawags about.
"I assume he wanted to lead a mutiny on your ship, when he warnt even a crewmember of."
More laughter.

"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!" (farts)

"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!"

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

"Sure, why not? Float on over." With a shrug, Altai waves the wizard over. "Could we inquire about your name, by the way?"

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

"Aye....I'm Sencho....as of now, Commodore of the hardest fleet of pirates in all of Jeklea Bay, if not all the seas of this godsdamned planet."
He floats the chair down to the deck; looks at Riese and winks at him.
Then, he steps out of the chair, and with a cane with a billiard ball for the grip, hobbles down belowdecks. He continues to the scuttlebutt, and reaching up into a recess formed by a support beam and a side brace, pulls out a bottle. He dusts it off; there's a tiny ship in the bottle.
"Aaaaaaah....Rosebud....." he lets out a booming laugh, stifled with a hacking cough; sprinkles the floor with blood;.....
then proceeds aboveboards.
He whispers to Oso..."aye, Parson.....I'll forgiveye that one mouthing....but mark me lad.....I've put men under the waves by the dozens."
Then he booms out to the crowd; "fightin's over! Piss off you lot!"
Then to the group as he gets in his throne.
"Merovanchi wasn't much loved here, to my knowledge. You've not done anything at least a score of others weren't plotting. He was a git and got what he got....

“Well, it was either that or ninjas,” Beldan shrugs. “So, what now? I think we’re a bit past hazing rituals and all that.”

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

Oso falls back out the way of the floater.

"You use dem words well, Sencho. P'haps you tell me why there be kongamato about here? They is long way from home. They be "scallywags" like you an' us?"

He stands next to Pip and whispers quiet, "he want dat beetle of Altai's, I reckun."

Pip whispers back

"Yeah, that's the big mystery prize right there."

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

*knowing wink*

Elgan, standing behind Oso and Pip, nods slowly in agreement, watching the pirate-y interactions with almost child-like interest.

Spoiler:
who is staring angrily at Riese; cutting his eyes at him and such...

"to collect you one and all. Then we'll vote ye in. Wot, any else?"

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

BTW, as a fellow lover of oddball NPCs, this is awesome. The whole Jabba's palace vibe comes through very well.

"Sounds good to me. We'll be expecting your man..., um, Goldy? Ah, whatever his name is, we'll be expecting him in a day or two. Until then, g'day to you, Commodore." Catching the dirty looks Goldilocks is sending Riese, Altai waits until Sancho and his bodyguards leave before turning to the evoker. "Do you know that guy? Or, rather, should he know you?"

Is Blondie some sorta nobleman? Knowledge local (Ahlissa) 13+7=20, local (Keoland) 11+7=18, Knowledge (royalty and nobility) 16+7=23. What kind of weapon does he carry?

"Hey, Oso, what do you think of the Olman nutter? Does his name ring any bells?"

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

Once the scene settles down a bit, Altai collects the dead bodies of Merovanchi's henchmen. After taking some notes on the cactus-man and the bat-gnomes, he chucks the bodies into the harbour one by one, trying to identify what it is that grabs the meaty offerings.

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

Oso has a thunk about the Olman blondie.

General Int check=16, Knowledge (Religion)=18+6=24.

Oso Legumbe wrote:

Oh,....there's two of them; one's an Olman, by name of Hex Chun Chan the Dangerous one, with crazy tats and a maqahuitl, then there's a blonde Suel guy or whatever; who Sencho called Goldy; with a gold breastplate, and curly blonde hair, looking all mean at Riese.

I guess my explanation was a tad confusing.
What was your thunk anyway?

Oh and Altai, this guy isn't anybody you recognize. The breastplate looks like Hold o.t. Sea Prince's regalia though; somebody's elite court guard or another.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

(lol)I picked up "Hex Chun Chan" from Bill Burroughs; I'm not even sure who he's supposed to be; sounded cool though. Some Mayan god or something, I think Bill changed the name around.
His name.....reminds Oso of.....something old, to do with the Chaos War with the Wind Dukes of Aaqa and the Wolf Spider and all that stuff...

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

OK. He doesn't look like Swertlowe's kid brother or anything?

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

Goldy, Oso expects him to a Scarlet Brotherhood (Strawhead they've been nicknamed at UK LG cons) agent but is he one that may be known by Oso from his past.

Speaking after, "the armour may mean he is a cleric. The Brotherhood are led by monks and assassins, but the clerics may have power too."

No "Swertlowe look" about him.

He looks like one of guys from Dawson's Creek. I don't know which one; I never watched that show. Or...how bout the Ian(eye-an) guy from 90210; that'll work.
