Elgan looks appreciatively at the Turbaned gorilla's display, but his only response is to shift his weight onto one foot before Sencho calls an end to the imminent hostilities.

He raises a slim eyebrow at the gorilla's declaration that 'NO one is as evolved,..." And makes a note to tell Altai later that he thinks the ape is hiding something.

He hops up onto a convenient stool as the shouting dies down and it looks like they might actually stay awhile. He relaxes and watches the proceedings with interest, but is perched in such a way that he can leap off in a flash.

After Sencho's commandment, the gorilla is completely back to normal, his momentary lapse of into amok disorder leaves no evidence of ever being in evidence besides a few flecks of dry skin on his jetblack pelt worked up in the display.

....didn't expect Gittik to start a bunch of business but it was worth the guffaws, really....I loved that whole interchange...

It certainly undermines that whole 'noble, selfless adventurer' theme; the main reason we do what we do is because we're a bunch of unemployable headcases who can't settle a grocery bill without drawing copious amounts of blood.

I guess we're off to prep, then. Does Riese know See invisible? If not, I'll memorise a couple - one for a bruiser and one for a spellcaster.

Nope, but I will toss in a Listening Lorecall from the PHB2. It should be mildly helpful. Also I have Invis. Sphere. Not really one for utility spells unless making things burn is what I am utilizing. 1st level spells prepped=7 offensive, 0 anything else. 2nd level=2 offensive, 4 self buff/self utility. 3rd level=3 offensive, 1 self buff and 1 party utility. 4th level=3 offensive spells. So I have 15 prepped offensive spells and 6 others, +2 Pearl of Power-1s for more Firebolts, a wand of Magic missile and a combat wand of cold. Not so much use out of combat for Riese.

I should be able to get it done tonight; start the fight this weekend some time.

When I lvl up (Hopefully SOON!) Maybe The druid can toss in a couple of buffs if needed? He can still trade them in for summoned creatures, or heals, and he doesn't have many blasty-spells to begin with, (I'm KEEPING column of fire though!) so I don't mind any.

Can you memorise a Dispel magic? Oddly, neither Riese nor Altai can cast it.

BTW, is Feather Cap coming along for the fight, or is it just us versus Gittik's dad and his cronies? After all, there's a big reward for Feather Cap back in Saltmarsh.

I took a Dispel Magic, it's a 4th lvl for me, but if I don't use it, I can trade it in for a heal or a summoned, so it's all good!

Right on; almost ready sounds like.

The rest of the day's pretty much uneventful; and in the a.m. pre-dawn a pair of 'salts show up to show you guys where the sandbar is. You all get on your ship; it's about 3 miles due west.

It's a largish, sandy "c" in the middle of the ocean; the inside of the c is shallow but outside is big enough to pull a ship up to. The waves lap against it in the morning as the sun rises in the east.

Gittik's pappy is on the sand bar at p6,
there's a robed (?), human sized, can't make him out at p2,

a goblin with a boar is at n4 the boar is at 04,

there's a really ugly goblin chick on a saddled harpy at t4,
a goblin with a bow at s2,
and a weird looking hobgoblin that skulks around on all fours at l5. He has kindova bony klingon headplate deal going on there; maybe he has padgett's disease(?)

Cool! The map works fine. I can make Beldan invisible before we get off the shield if he wants - it'll be a nice surprise for our gobbo buddies.

It's a varag; kind of a more bestial offshoot of hobgoblins.

Minor correction:

I'm casting a couple of spells on the boat before disembarking. Altai currenty wears the form of a locatah. So, it sounds like this instead:

everybody call your buffs and position on the map and we'll roll with the battle when that's done.

The guy(?) in the robe is walking around; casting buffs on everybody over there. They're huddling around him trying to deflect line of sight for knowledge: arcana rolls...

As we get close to the sandbar, Greater Mage Armor, Listening Lorecall and Alter Self on Riese, who takes on the appearance of a Lizardfolk.

Bombs away! Could Elgan roll some dispel checks before the fireballs hit? I'll drop my bomb at Q2 - it hits the onshore gobbos (except Weird Hobgoblin) and also covers a fair amount of the goblin ship. With some luck, I'll catch a few gawkers. 23 points of damage, Reflex 19 for half.
