He could do a piece or two. The entire thing is risky as it would shine if anybody did a sweep with detect magic. It's a common enough spell/ability to make Dalton hesitant to its use.

So what exactly is the plan for distribution? I need to know to see how various groups of people react.

The plan is that we deliver the metal to the appropriate people and see if anybody attacks us on the way. I don't think we should make it obvious that we are inviting attacks. What kind of specifics are you looking for?

Just a heads up, I'm really excited about this game and would love for it to pick up in speed, but I have a super important job interviewing coming up next week. I may be a bit distracted.


Just some basic details of how and when you are delivering the metal. Are you keeping all of the adamantine in a closed crate so that it's not visible? Are you visiting at day or night? Are you letting them know you're coming ahead of time? Who all is going?

I’d guess we’d transport the adamantine in closed containers. At night there will be less chance of innocent bystanders getting injured. Day time does have some advantages too. But again moving the metal ore at night just feels more secure, more clandestine. I imagine we’d let the customers know something along the line of, “We have the X pounds of adamantine you ordered. We’ll deliver it at the hour of ice (or however they indicated time here), so have the money ready.” Though maybe not telling them the time would be better...more secure. We want to be seen as competent merchants. Yeah, no time indications...unless they demand one and then we’d give a four hour window. Rilka (as Chibi) will be a part of the group.

If we've agreed on delivery, I agree with Rilka the guise of mechants must be upheld. To this end, I feel Dalton would feel he should be present as that's his veneer.

Though he will not cast many defenses long beforehand (for he doesn't have much in this regard besides mage armor, which he'll have active), Dalton will be running Detect Thoughts if the transit time is anticipated to be less than an hour. At this point, having a general idea of what some lackeys might be thinking could be handy.

From what I understand, Rilka (and possibly Dalton) are going to study the bodies/crime scene and then we're going to scope out the tunnels if time permits.

Later tonight we're going to do a stakeout on one of our surviving customers.

I don’t know the state of forensics in the world, but Rilka wants to see if they were killed by magic or if possible what non-magic methods or weapons. Also, perhaps there’s a “signature” left behind by the assassins.

The stake out is a good idea.

I think the tunnel exploration (looking for the ore thieves in action) will take a number of days. It’s really dependent upon the ore shipments leaving the mines. Is that what we want to do “tomorrow”?


Magic and alchemy are your tools. As well as the heal skill to determine cause of death.
