I blame Happs. Maybe he wanted us out of the colony so that our group would be a buffer against creatures of the night. It's either that or Dendarial's eating something that the monsters like kekekekekeke.

Dendarial the Ken Hunter |
From the recruitment thread:
Character creation:
- 20 point buy.
- Core Races preferred, but any race is accepted. Just make sure you have a backstory to justify that half-tiefling half-tengu half-cat half-brick character!
- Any class except summoner is allowed (sorry, guys, I hate summoners). While I'd prefer not to have gunslingers, they are welcome.
- 2 Traits, one of which must be a KM campaign trait. I'm willing to reflavor a campaign trait if one doesn't fit your concept perfectly. 1 Drawback is allowed.
- Non-evil alignments please. If you really and truly believe you can play an evil character without being a jerk, I'll consider it.
- Average starting wealth.
- Max HP at first, Average+1 on subsequent levels.
- 3rd Party Content can be considered on a case by case basis. No psions, though.
- Backstories are appreciated, but don't feel compelled to write a novel. Unless you really want to.

@DM
Would you considering implementing the background skills system from pathfinder unchained. If you don't know what I am talking about then let me know and I will post the pfsrd link up for you to look it over. Personally I like the system and thought it would be good for this game.
Thomas Leafbearer |
Brysen, can you put your vitals under a spoiler or on a tag line like the rest of us ?
This makes it easier for people trying to keep people alive. :)

Turns out, I had misread the FCB. I cannot take a spell yet, due to it having to be 1 level below the max that I can cast.
In that case, I will be changing it to the +1 hp/+1 sp of the fast learner.

... but before it can even begin to crush the life from the man, Dendarial puts a precisely aimed arrow into the back of its skull. It slumps forward, dragging Tyanos into the dirt with it. It lay motionless, its blood spilling onto Tyanos' once-clean garments.
As quickly as it all started, silence falls over the encampment in the dim glow of the Greenbelt's night sky.

I have totally lost track of any wealth we may or may not have. Dendarial wants a strength bow to match his strength. He would like to have a masterwork one, but would settle for a simple strength bow.
Thomas Leafbearer |
it is not updated for the worm find.
Dendarial.
If you take up the craft bow skill, it will only cost you 100 and time to make. :)

On another note, I totally did not forget about Tyanos and the background skill question. (Okay, I mostly forgot about it. My bad, again.)
After looking it over, I wouldn't have any problem allowing the system. This seems like the right campaign for them to really play out nicely as well, especially since Hadin's character is already quite well built around his humble beginnings. The only change I'm going to make to the system is removing Handle Animal from the background skills. Given the frequency with which animals are going to come up in a wilderness adventure like this, I think having an active investment into the skill rather than a background training in it is more suitable.
So the tl;dr for people who don't have Unchained or haven't read it on the PRD or d20pfsrd:
All characters now gain an additional 2 skill points per level, but these points must be spent on background skills. Background skills include the following: Appraise, Artistry, Craft, Knowledge (engineering), Knowledge (geography), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (nobility), Linguistics, Lore, Perform, Profession, Sleight of Hand.
You'll still get your normal skill advancement plus Int and human bonuses, as normal, and can spend those on background skills if you still want to. But you get an extra two skill points to play with and flesh out your characters' backgrounds with, which is pretty great IMO. Obviously this means you can rebuild your characters' skills to accommodate the extra 4 points you'll now have!
Thomas Leafbearer |
I am expecting to get it today, so what does that mean for my crafting skills that I have already invested in ?
Edit, never mind, you answered it. :)
Edit 2:
First level skills changing background to craft weapons and armour, giving me 2 skill points going into ride and handle animal.
Second level skills changing background to craft alchemy, and bows.
2 skill points going into ride and appraise.
Dendarial the Ken Hunter |
Well it suddenly seems time to put some skill points into Craft Bows. :) That and maybe spend a little money on some masterwork tools.
Den will put two points into Craft Bows and one point each into Linguistics and Knowledge Geography. That lets him reallocate a point to his Heal skill.
So, can crafting be done in the wilderness while sitting around the fire, or does it have to be dedicated full days?
