Now that Vokar has mentioned it, it is indeed rather hot here... The parthfinders ready themselves for the inevitable attack. Vraxam tells you that the flaming creature is a small fire elemental. It is immune to fire damage and vulnerable to cold. The two humanoids are ifrit, outsiders descending from mightier elementals like efreet. They are also highly resistant to fire damage. The elemental charges Volar!

Etune is the first to act, his frost ray is very effective, doing more damage than it normally does. Vraxam unleashes sparks around the elemental and also does damage. Finally Volar raises his club, but the elemental is quicker, but it does not manage to hit the human.

Jing Hao braves the incandescent rocks and attempts to harvest the yellow Ifrit with his scythe.

I doubt I hit even with the +1 from guidance that I forgot


Fiend series | Shackles

The pathfinders gather around the small fire elemental and attack it, but nobody is able to land a hit. Korvan sees this from a distance, shakes his head and gets an arrow. Taking a moment to stabilize his breathing he fires through his companions and takes out the flaming creature!

The two ifrits move forward over the hot stone and both cast a spell, flames wash over the gathered pathfinders! Caught by surprise the pathfinders take the full blast of the first spell, but that prepares them for the second.

Greenwillow calls on divine aid for Jing Hao and Vraxam uses a protective wand. Jing Hao sees that he can reach the red ifrit without stepping on the red hot stones. He makes use of the opportunity, but overextends. Although he is able to regain his balance the scythe passes in front of the ifrit.

"Hang in there Volar, got an idea!"

Etune is having a very hard time finding a good clear shot for her rather pathetic cooling blast, however, this doesn't prevent a possibly unorthodox use of her talents...

...rather than attack someone with the piddling ray which would be a very difficult shot at best, she instead attempts to blast the rock at Volar's feet to provide immediate cooling and hopefully mitigate the worst of the damage!

Etune has a brilliant idea, unfortunately her execution is flawed. Korvan does what he does best: he shoots the other ifrit. Both ifrits seem to have had enough of the beating they are taking and they quickly retreat!

With the immediate threat gone the heat seems even more oppressive.

You can quaff your endure elements potion if you did not do that already or

Make a Fortitude (DC 15) or take 1d4 points of nonlethal damage.

Characters wearing heavy clothing or armor of any sort take a –4 penalty on their saves. A character with the Survival skill may receive a bonus on this saving throw and might be able to apply this bonus to other characters as well (see the Survival skill)

Time: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

A crashed vessel of shining metal stands in sharp contrast to the lurid reds and blacks of the igneous landscape. Scorch and claw marks ravage the hull, but a fiery propulsion system seems mostly intact and juts toward the stars at an angle.

Thanks to the damage it took upon crashing, the vessel has seen its last flight, but the engines remain surprisingly intact. As you explore the exterior, a gnome approaches you "You there, you are just what I need. I am quite sure that if we are able to restart these enginges that it might cause the asteroid to spin again, distributing the light more evenly and regulating the surface temperatures to a safer degree! You explore the inside while I look for a way to restart the engines outside! Hop to it!"

The ship’s exterior is torn open in several places, making it fairly easy to find a way inside. Inside you immediately note the strange technology and two 8 foot tall beings in weird armor. Their faces are burned beyond any recognition, while unholy flames dance in their empty
bulbous eye sockets. They slowly make their way towards you and it takes no rocket scientist to see that they are hostile!

We did talk about drinking our potions of Endure Elements so i think we're all fine. Also, we were given a healing wand so we may aswel use that before using our own resources.

Volar produces the healing wand and starts to get everyone back to full strength before moving on.

"Hold still you big lug, i'm making it better!" he says to Smiler as he tries to heal his burns.

I'm making an assumption that standing where the chair like object is should be ok. If i'm wrong then Volar will go to the side of the creature instead.

Volar moves past the nearest alien creature hoping to catch it off guard. Once behind it he swings for the creature's head with his club.

The halfling is bouncing around trying to see what is going on in front of the party.

She had a clear line of sight on one of the opponents earlier, but it went down pretty quickly and now has glowing positive energy at her fingertips... but no good way to send it at the remaining opponent.

"Everyone doing okay up there? Anyone need help?"

Delay, pending any request for assistance. Change from original course of action due to change of battlefield.


Fiend series | Shackles

The party has no problem with the last of the aliens. On closer inspection it is obvious that they have been dead for a while.

You find six of the weird armors, quickly deducing that they protect the wearer from the vacuum of space. Unfortunately they are all medium sized, to adjust them for halflings or gnomes would take some effort Craft (armor, cloth, or leather)

The ship also carries a store of medical supplies, including four potions of endure elements, two potions of cure light wounds, and a potion of remove disease.

The ship's engines are low on power and have several damaged and disconnected components, yet they are reparable. You can coax the engines to life either by supercharging them with energy or by piecing back together the machinery.

Upon hearing the news regarding the engines, Vraxam grins. "Stand back. I got this."

Cackling with glee, the creature begins channeling the static energy within the room. Repeatedly he sends shot after shot of electrical energy hurtling into the device, becoming more and more manic with each charge.

Finally, wiping the drool from his face, he turns to the group, Eyes wild with pleasure. "That was fun! Shall we find more?!"

If you need rolls, I would be using Acid Splash converted to electric until charged

If no one else did, I would have grabbed the located loot prior to leaving the other room, excluding the armor

Spying the floating entity, Vraxam whispers to his companions "What in the boneyard is that?!"

Stepping to the side of his party members, the Halfling shrugs. Calling out to the floating bush, "You there! We...uh...we heard you might enjoy some water. Judging by the looks of this place, there's not much to be found. If you let us pass peacefully, we'll cool you off."

We have finished repairs of a strange craft on the bright side of the asteroid, and the engines will fire shortly, hopefully causing this rock to spin and even out the extreme temperatures. This may get a bit bumpy though in three…two…one... Hold on!”

A sudden jolt shakes the entire asteroid, sending anything unsecured reeling as the stars begin to spin overhead.

The creature is a denizen from the dark tapestry, a madness seed. Strangely enough it is vulnerable to fire and can release spores that can cause vivid hallucinations that paralyze the people affected.

It does not react to Vraxam's heist, and instead moves forward. It might be that it does not understand languages, but communicates in another manner...
