I realized that I had shorted myself 50 gp during character creation and forgot to include what spells were included in my spell book. I have also included my arcane school abilities, and what my arcane bond does.

Backstory:
Growing up in Kenabres by a foster family, Alikia was always curious about a strange birthmark on upper left arm. When she found out that it was for a secret demon killing society, that her parents were a part of, it took all of her foster parent’s wit to keep her in Kenabres and not from charging into the Worldwound to locate them.

She would also often get into mischief, which came to a head when she turned fourteen. After sneaking into her foster father’s lab and mixing some spell components together, Alikia accidently created a cloud that would dissolve ink from pages. Half of her foster father’s research on different alchemical remedies was lost. After a loud, angry discussion behind closed doors, Alikia was sent to Nerosyan to study under a gifted wizard to help train her natural talents. Recently, Alikia Sokol moved back to her childhood home to help join the crusades.

Personality:
Alikia is a hardworking, salt of the earth young woman who has seen great triumph and devastating loss. She can appear to be introverted, only truly opening up to others that she truly trusts. She doesn’t worship one particular deity, but if she were pressed, she would choose Sarenrae because of her chance at redemption.

Appearance:
Unlike most of the other people raised close to the Worldwound, Alikia has fair skin and light colored hair, thanks her elven heritage. She is taller than the average human, standing at 6’3 and is of a slight frame. Her blond hair is always kept back in some form of messy braid or pony tail, depending on how much time she has in the morning. Her eyes are a stunning shade green, and she often has a far off look in them. When she speaks, it comes off as someone who is attempting to say everything before their thoughts leave them. She is often found wearing a dark green tunic with brown pants and sturdy shoes.

Why:
A look crosses Alikia’s face as if the thought to not join the crusade to stop the Worldwound had never crossed her mind. Scrunching her eyebrows, a long pause happens as she tries to rear in her thoughts. ”I’ve grown up here, in Kenabres. I’ve seen people from other nations rally to push back these monsters. I’ve never met my parents because of this Worldwound. It is my turn to pay it forward, so that other children are given the chance to grow and learn.

As for what I can do, I spent the last seven years of my life studying ways to summon and dismiss outsiders. I have knowledge of the outer planes that could prove invaluable to this organization. I want to show Golarion what good I can do. Give me that chance.”

Keen Sense: Half-elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks

Arcane Bond: (Masterwork Light Crossbow) If a wizard attempts to cast a spell without his bonded object worn or in hand, he must make a concentration check or lose the spell. The DC for this check is equal to 20 + the spell's level.
A bonded object can be used once per day to cast any one spell that the wizard has in his spellbook and is capable of casting, even if the spell is not prepared. This spell is treated like any other spell cast by the wizard, including casting time, duration, and other effects dependent on the wizard's level. This spell cannot be modified by metamagic feats or other abilities. The bonded object cannot be used to cast spells from the wizard's opposition schools.
Arcane School: (Conjuration)
Summoner's Charm (Su): Whenever you cast a conjuration (summoning) spell, increase the duration by a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your wizard level (minimum 1). At 20th level, you can change the duration of all summon monster spells to permanent. You can have no more than one summon monster spell made permanent in this way at one time. If you designate another summon monster spell as permanent, the previous spell immediately ends.
Acid Dart (Sp): As a standard action you can unleash an acid dart targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. The acid dart deals 1d6 points of acid damage + 1 for every two wizard levels you possess. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier. This attack ignores spell resistance.

The Exchange

Did one last editing sweep. Changed the name and updated some minor information. Last submission from me, good luck all.

Background:

Asher Troy and his younger brother, Castor, were raised by their mother in Isger until his brother was seven years old. Mother Troy, having only six fingers (having had four bitten off by raiding goblins during the Goblinblood Wars) could no longer count Castor’s age and sent the two out into the world, reckoning his brother was old enough to take care of him. They were luckily captured one day and sent to the Sisters of the Golden Erinyes. Upon realizing that Asher was a particularly gifted child, well suited to serve their god, the Sisters had him sent to Cheliax where he would receive ecclesiastical training from the best of her clergy. Asher became enamored with the idea of purging the Worldwound and what it would mean to drive the demons back to the lowest recesses of the Abyss.

Description:

Mussed curly brown locks hang over his classically handsome face. Going lower, thick eyebrows sit above a straight nose, thin mouth, and a chiseled chin. Standing only 5'10, he is shorter than the average adventurer, but he is well built and particularly strong. If not for his armor proudly displaying the reversed pentagram, one would be hard pressed to guess he ever spent any time in Cheliax or worshipped her patron deity.
Picture!

Personality:

Asher is surprisingly friendly, open, and happy. An evangelist at heart, he rarely plays the role of the conniving fiend many would stereotype him as at first glance. Versed in Asmodean apologetics, he is used to his motives being questioned and his intentions being misunderstood. He tends to get caught up in sweeping narratives, looking for the divine meaning in things and trying to fit all in the plans of the gods. He holds a special admiration for the Godclaw pantheon but has little patience for the capricious lifestyles encouraged by chaotic neutral faiths and nearly none at all for evil beings not named Asmodeus or bound to him. He likes to collect tea cups.

Why?:

”Because a sickness has come upon us all. From an infected wound it bubbles forth, threatening the world with its virus — its demons. With extreme prejudice and divine fervor, I embark on a righteous quest to deliver the misguided and help slay the demons that dare tempt them.”

Can't believe no new submissions in the final 12 hours. Wanted to add a little to my background, but ran out of time. Good luck all.

Ok, submissions closed. I'll post a new list after breakfast and I install a new router, then let everyone know by tomorrow.

Thank you all for participating. This is going to be a difficult decision.

The Inheritor be with us all...especially Uncle Taco. :P

Good luck everyone :)

Luck to all!

As an FYI, I am going to stretch myself a little with this PbP, by picking at least one character that I normally wouldn't.

Ok, this looks like the final list. If I missed anyone, PLEASE let me know.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but I am also taking the Riftwarden Orphan/Archmage trait/mythic path.

Funny seeing all the + and - next to the names. Had me concerned for a minute there until I realized they are your top secret code for time zones - or at least I hope they are.

Yea, it is GMT offset. There is not a way to put a table, or just spaces. *sigh*

I was wondering about that. You mentioned that the post rate is at least once per day (easily done, I like to post more if it will move things forward), so I'm curious as to how the timezone plays into things. Are you wanting to do it more like VTT using PbP?

Good luck to all of you in the running!

I second that! So many great submissions I would hate to be David today!

Whose running? Kyleen walks, paces occasionally, and might on rare occasions waddle some. But running is something that is definitely below her.

No. I was hoping, and it came true, that no one was GMT -10 / -11 or so. I am running a couple of other PbP and in one of them one of the characters was so off kilter because being half way around the world to all the others, that they were almost always out of sync, till that character finally just stopped posting.

Luckily, this is -6 to +2 so there is not that problem.

Also, post more, and if I can I will also to move things on. One per day is a minimum.

Edit: Oh, and new router is up and running. If you are ever in the 12017 zip code (Austerlitz, NY, near the Massachusetts border) and see NSA_Surveillance_#42 wifi spot, you found me!

Yeah, it's EtA. I did realize later it could be taken as Riftwarden Orphan, though.

Yeh, I have been in a number of campaigns with people in Australia and Indonesia. Some are great posters - looking at Shifty and Mark Sweetman. However, much too often with other players, the delay in responses becomes frustrating. In every campaign there are times where one player and the DM need to exchange quick responses. If the two are never on at the same time, this can really hold things up. Especially if the someone is playing a scout that needs to go off on a quick solo adventure while the rest of the party sits back twiddling their thumbs.

I will add though, that I have also had numerous players who just stop posting or go to the "annoyingly infrequent" level of posting from the USA and Europe. If the player is a good long term player, it does not really matter what time zone they are in, they will find a way to post one or more times each day.

I thought I had posted time zone...huh my bad. I'm midwest USA GMT -6 I believe.

Sorry, totally missed the request for time zone. I'm in USA Eastern time. (GMT -4 I believe)

Time zones? I am in Pacific (-8:00 UTC). I think.

Grand Lodge

I too game with a bunch of people from around the world ;) ( to me it just means that i get up 20 min earlier so that i can post before leaving for work in order to keep up with the us time zone...)

And good luck to every one in the running

Traits cleaned up, and I'm in US Central Time Zone.

Very tough decision, but I have selected the following characters. Please check in to the Discussion Thread HERE, and indicate you are still interested in playing.

Aladir Cyruthion
Alikia Sokol
Ezro Lindran
Hyram Grimstalk
Quinn Inktooth

If you have not created an alias, please do so, and everyone please finalize your character in the alias profile. I use them if I have to bot someone.

Spoiler:
I would have posted this four hours ago, but just as I had made up my mind, the wife said "Take me to the mall. I want to go shopping and spend my Birthday Gift Card." It is a 45 mile round trip, as we are at our camper and she hates driving to where the mall is. Even though I got back two hours ago, I had a lot of time (sitting in the husband chair at Macy's ladies clothes department) to think about my choices, so I went back and thought of making changes. Luckily for me, I did not.

Congrats those who made it. Someday I will make it into a WotR. Been in 5 WotW campaigns, but not a single WotR yet.

Congratulations to all of those chosen! Looking forward to seeing you in the game!

Good luck to the winners. Great gaming to you all!

If anyone is still following this thread, I have opened a replacement character thread as our Paladin has had to leave the game.

Do not post a character here, but please use the new thread if you are interested.
