Still absently rubbing at the slight remaining sore spot after their encounter with Lunch/Dinner for the next few days/weeks Suny puts away her two handed weapon and draws the smaller one handed sword. Stepping closer to Jax she says quietly,

The cave grows dark as you venture deeper inside, If someone has a light source let me know. There's varying amounts of water on the ground as you move deeper, from a couple inches to about a foot. About 50 feet deeper into the cave you can hear a chattering around the corner.

Around the corner you see the cave open up, the water gets a little deeper and is filled with bits of floating pieces of rotting meat. Inside you see four figures, from the torso up they look vaguely humanoid but from the waist down they are a mass of tentacles. The two closest to you are small about the size of a goblin (15 ft away). The two near the back of the cavern (45 ft away) are much larger with one the size of a normal man and the other even bigger. As you peak around the corner two spears are thrown in your direction.

You get a +4 cover bonus to your ac form these attacks as you are still partially around the corner.

I will be returning from deployment in about 30 and at that point I will be able to use maps. I am sorry if the lack of them has caused any confusion. I will be able to start incorporating them in August.

DESCRIPTION

A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).

the obscuring mist will really make things difficult. Could you tell us who is within the mist? And if I could reach someone? Calah would like to take out that caster one.


Not wanting to throw an uninvited paddle into the waters, but. The spell was centered on the caster? That means the Grindly Queen is 40' away. Then it'll be moving with the caster, even should they move? So.. an area of effect spell? Just lob it in? Though even with 'concealment' all they can do is make a Ref save for half? Also, you could be all sneaky, like... and attack from beneath the surface? >:) Just some thoughts. Don't mind me (Another player, not the awesome DM.)

It looks like I misread the spell, it reads "A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary." But in order to keep things going Calistra blessed Kyranda by conforming the spell to here wishes. In this case the spell is centered around The Brineblood Queen, it will remain stationary.

Only the Brineblood Queen is caught in the mist.


*Bows* So... She's now caught inside it. It's not going any where but she might. My call of 'lob area of effect spells into the cloud and hope for the best' might work, if we have any AoE spells handy?. ;)

Calah, with a swim speed you would be able to charge the Brineblood Queen except the two normal size Grinylows are between you and her. You could charge either of the two normal size Grinylows, double move to the Brineblood Queen, charge The Whale, or charge the closer of the two fish.

I am going to look for an alternate method of getting a map up.

Well if the queen does not move she can get fire dmg from the flaming orb. If she does move I have to spend a move action to place the flaming orb back at her position if I can see her as a move action. If I can see her Calah will throw a produce flame at the queen and move the fire orb back into place. If the queen stays stationary she will have to reroll the reflex save and I will do a 5 ft step forward and throw a produce flame at the nearest grindylow. If the queen moves away under water I will just ranged touch the nearest grindylow and move the flaming orb over the other one. Hope you don't mind me doing it like this but I am at a hotel during a course so posting will be irregular.

ranged touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
fiery ouchies: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

flaming orb dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
